UCLA seems to be on the rise (not sarcastic) and USC is about to feel some depth chart issues from the scholarship sanctions in the coming years. It could happen. If USC beats UCLA next year then that dream of his will be foiled for quite some time.

Slowly working through that bowl season topic, looking for when The Saban Bomb was dropped.

That Bowl Season had Threeballs all over the place, capped off by Boise State over Oklahoma, and a page filled with "JESUS ******** CHRIST"

On another note, as you can imagine, I'm not thrilled about Saban's hiring. On one hand, it's great for the conference, for the state, and for the rivalry. On the other hand, I really would like to keep the streak going against Alabama (it's up to five now) and this will probably hurt Auburn a little bit when it comes to recruiting. One thing that Alabama fans need to remember is that a coach who has been historically good does NOT equal instant success, so I wouldn't expect national championships anytime soon.

You did back your way into the BCS game. Well, I guess you won your last game, so not really backing. But why not show up when you were still undefeated?

I didn't get to watch much of the Syracuse game (was traveling), but from what I did see/read, our poor play on defense finally caught up with us. I have no idea how a Charlie Strong team can be so bad defensively, but this team has really struggled since the second half of the UNC game. Thankfully, they showed some signs of life in the UConn and Rutgers games (outside of the two terrible missed tackles Thursday night).

As for the UConn game, I was there. The team just came out flat. Receivers were dropping passes, Teddy was overthrowing, etc. Teddy broke his wrist on the last play before the half, and he sat out for about half of the third quarter. Once he came back in though, the offense started rolling and forced overtime. Teddy sprained his ankle in one of the three OT's and threw an interception. It was a terrible loss for sure.

I found this. Looks like he went to the CFL. He never stops giving great news stories.

Garcia, a South Carolina product with a long list of off-the field issues, recently signed with the Montreal Alouettes. But, as the Montreal Gazette notes, Garcia immediately had to be placed on the injured list because he hurt two fingers while getting off the team bus and flashing the peace sign.

We are so dumbfounded by the sentence above that we almost can't continue this post. This story wasn't embellished to sound wackier than it is. The account of how Garcia was injured came directly from the team.
