I wish I was as good as some of you guys. This is pretty much my first time using color so I am kind of struggling but it's still pretty fun.

This is the same for me but I am trying to practice by drawing multiple things and I'm getting better. Also, take some time on each item you draw.

On another note I'm mad because I by mistake erased a painting. :( also, I'm killing my battery.

I absolutely can not draw to save my life, but this app looked interesting, so I bought, and i'm blown away.

It's so fun to use. Right now i'm drawing Mario, and it's actually turning out kinda good.

Oh, I just found out how to move and merge layers. Great stuff.

I was wondering how they would handle security, but now I noticed it: the 3DS app only displays drawings and comments made from the 3DS version (which goes to show how much people got this app already). This should help avoiding people trying to inject payloads via corrupted drawings and comments.

I don't think the world can handle the irony if a homebrew turned payed app is the open door to homebrew on the system

It's a nice test to see how secure the 3DS really is. Completely preventing buffer overflows in 3rd party code is not possible, so I wonder if this time Nintendo did their homework and designed the system to survive such scenario.

Man the stuff in this thread is just amazing. I hope the userbase explodes like Flipnote. I loved going on there and just seeing what new piece of animation a user created.

I just purchased this. It looks and sounds like a great addition to the 3DS apps. I hope I'll be able to eventually produce some great art.

Damn you, Gaf. Why must you make me interested in things? D=

I'm not much of an artist, but I'd love to download this just to look at all the creations. Does the app allow you to save other people's creations in a gallery to look at like in Flipnote?

The amount of tracing in the site's gallery for 3DS paintings is .... frightening, specialy after page 20

Even if there are some cool ones, it is kinda sad that most people are tracing =(

But what makes me more sad is that this is one page 2 and this is on page 3 in a search for 3ds only


Also, in the app's gallery you can see the painting being done is 3d ?
Because only downloading the mpo don't do this .. right ?

But what about people who have no real drawing/painting skill, or just need a little help? I think it's a great addition so everyone can paint the way they want to. And for some people tracing is a starting point. They want to make art, but need to practice, and in time they'll get better and won't have to rely on tracing. Besides, it's not like it's not obvious if someone traced something. And thug there is a lot of tracing, I've seen a good amount of original art from Nintendo 3DS users as well.

And yes, you can view the painting being done in 3D in the in-app Gallery.

Open the menu and click on the "3D" option. You'll see a list of all layers there. If you touch and hold a layer, a bunch of options show up:

- If you drag it onto other layers, you can change their ordering.
- If you drag to the icon that shows up bellow another layer, you can merge the selected layer into it (it even shows a preview before you release).
- If you drag to the trashcan bellow the selected layer, you erase it.

This app is really addicting, it keeps trying to hoard all my free time. Also I really like the online gallery, they handled it very well.

Edit: apparently, "dirty" is a dirty word to Colors!3d, it was censored in my painting description when I was trying to describe the look I was going for in one of my paintings.

I really hate those painted friendcodes... and the people who did them.
What are they trying to accomplish? It's not like they could add anyone that way.

anyway, still waiting for the eu version :7 the lack of good terranigma art is disturbing :p

They allow porn on the gallery, that's why there's an 18+ feature. Though you can't tag paintings as 18+ on the 3DS, which is kinda a problem. I'd imagine that kind of stuff would get tagged pretty fast, though.

That's what I'm talking about. It takes longer to browse through the website to reach the mpo. Having the link right here is better.

Nice drawings btw. When it comes out in Europe I'll be able to contribute with stupid stick drawings. :(

This is what I did, too. If you scroll up, I displayed how it looked. It's nice that it came in handy for more than one use. =P

Actually, ever since I got the stand, I've been leaving it on there whenever I'm at my desk. And Kotaku said it was sorta useless. It sort of replace my dock/cradle, since I have that Resident Evil armor on my 3DS.

It's becoming really tempting to get the app, mainly because of what you guys have been posting. Ugh, maybe I'll bite sometime later when I add funds to get Ketzal's Corridors. I'll definitely go for a Yoshi Island's-style drawing first if I do!

Anyone know how the "Top of the Week" work?

Is it the top that start in Friday and end a week after? Is it the top of new paints send for a period of seven days or is it the top of most voted in that week?
