After the initial pre-release hype of the first Kinect and then inevitable letdown post-release, I can't figure out who Microsoft thinks is clamoring for a second one. Especially not enough to justify an additional $100 tacked onto the price tag.

The Platinum Games one doesn't make sense unless it's something like in Japan it's exclusive to Xbox One but in NA and Europe, it's multiplatform. Similar to Metal Gear Rising for the PS3.

Gies is an idiot. He owes someone from GAF 10 bucks. He is constantly wrong and pretty arrogant. He rushes to side with extremist feminist gamers only to be pointed out wrong later. He constantly apologizes for the industry (Microsoft DRM, EA Sim City). Evilore (the admin of this board right here) called him the most disreputable person in the press.

Aren't most launch consoles sold out by now? I would guess that both Sony and MS will sell out this year regardless of launch date.

Hmmm, Platinum Games is my bread and butter, so I'll be keeping an eye out for their One game. This is the kind of thing MS needs, to tempt me. Otherwise, I'll stick with the Quadruple.

We already know that it's shipping with an unfinished OS; the required day one patch to remove DRM also includes OS stuff that they hadn't finished by the time they started manufacturing Xbones.

If The Last of Us got released on PS4 I wouldn't be surprised. Just hearing about PS3's not being able to run the game well was indication of a PS4 release for me. I might pick it up if true too, especially if the DLC is good.

It's possible. We've been told that Xbox One will need to download a patch day one to get rid of 24-hour check-ins. They could simply roll all sorts of other 'fixes' into that as well.

I have no idea what this weird thread is but I hope it's fake (apart from Demon's Souls 2 - please be true). But a Platinum Kamiya game exclusive for Xbox One?! Please no, not even that will get me to buy a machine from that anti-consumer company. At least it cannot be MGR2 because Kojima loves Sony, and Bayonetta is safe too...

Yeah but how do total sales matter? MS made much more money on the 360, than Sony did on the Ps3. Sure, Sony managed to ship more Ps3's in the very end but the battle was very much over by then. Sony was trailing and bleeding money for much of this gen, and they entered as clear cut leaders.

I do agree that Sony is in a better position right now, but I'm still not to certain about the US.

I can see late October catching a lot of people flatfooted. I will drink the anguished tears of teenagers who haven't been able to save up enough yet.

However, I think this actually works in Microsoft's favour. If I pick up a PS4 in October (which I will as long as NZ doesn't get shafted) then come April next year I might look at getting an Xbox One. I just think there's enough of gap there then. I wouldn't have done it if it was December like some people were predicting locally.

I'm tempted to wonder if they knew it was just going to be a casual gimmick. If it had any groundbreaking software we would surely have seen it by now. I think they focused entirely on capturing the Wii market; thus the focus on family entertainment and 'the living room'. It seems they expected core gamers to fall in line by default, based on nothing but brand loyalty and Titanfall.

I still don't understand why you'd want a demons souls 2. Played demons and dark souls and both are similar enough that dark souls 2 and demons souls 2 would be potentially confusing. And certainly if I had an Xbox I wouldn't fuss too much about not having it,if I have dark souls 2

Just seems an odd thing to push for an exclusive on.

but did buttocks specify if it was a new IP or not? he just said Platinum and MS exclusive. MS could still technically pay the publisher to make the game, developed by Platinum, to be exclusive to xbone.
