Or you may as well wait to see if it happens, if it doesnt he shouldnt have much trouble buying one next spring... theres plenty of current gen stuff to play

Madden and Fifa come out way before that. Doesn't really make sense for some of the other stuff. Basically paying an extra $10 to rent 360 versions for a few weeks and then trading in for xbone.

It makes plenty of sense - if everybody who has no interest in kinect cancels their preorder this basically becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy:
low interst in kinect + possibility of kinectless SKU -> low xbox one sales -> kinectless SKU becomes a reality...

You won't here anything reliable from MS until march/april - at the moment MS will of course deny these rumors because of the scenario I outlined before...

Regarding the point about "No live streaming" I'm seeing a lot of different interpretation in the first couple of pages. To me it was a reference to MS not streaming their gamescom conference but some are adamant about it being about the OS streaming feature. What did everyone settle on 20 pages later?

I agree, and after debating for a while I decided to keep my XB1 preorder. For people who REALLY don't want to spend the money to get Kinect, then I could see them waiting to see if it turns out true or not. I would prefer to not have to buy Kinect myself, but since it's included, and they already spent a boatload on R&D, I would personally rather have them keep it in, in the off chance that there is some sort of meaningful gaming application produced for it.

If taking it out is the right choice to get more market penetration and by consequence more games for the system, then I guess I could eventually get behind that too. I guess hard opinions aren't my strong suit.

Yes, on an individual market basis the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain are the largest markets in Europe and dwarf these other markets in size. But the markets being relegated to tier two status collectively make up more than 10% of the European market, more than Spain.

When one considers the Russian market as well, then with those Scandinavian countries you're looking at a market bigger than France, bigger than Italy and around the size of Germany that is being omitted.

My thought is that this is just Gamestop encouraging consumers to buy the games for the 360 AT GAMESTOP when they don't have an xbox one yet. It's important to note when the games must be traded back to gamestop in order to upgrade to the xbox one version, December 31st. I think Gamestop is banking on a lot of kids expecting to get Xbox One for Christmas.

7) Not news again, the same day Marc Whitten revealed the Kinect does not have to be plugged in, we confirmed there will not be a Kinect-less Xbox One at launch. On the possibility of this happening March/April 2014, I have no idea. But to say the Xbox One's launch numbers will be a fallout is unfounded.

Actually it's not that hard - ask yourself:
Is delaying your next gen experience for 4 months worth 100$ to you?
If yes wait until march/april - if you don't mind potentially "losing" 100$ buy it day one ;-)

It's like with all electronics - if you want to have them day one you'll pay a premium...

I was stating because my opinion on whether I want the Kinect to be 100% mandatory or not changes in different circumstances. I'm keeping my preorder, nothing is stopping my triple console
actually 4 with PS3
Holiday hype train.

The non-streaming of the event will be a way for MS to try and control the information.

The Internet tends to overplay the bad parts vs. the gaming press who will underplay them.

We'll see how we'll that works.

I don't know, I've never seen the numbers of consoles sold there. I was under the impression that most of the Russian and Eastern European markets were dominated by PC. And Western Europe is "Sonyland", right?
