Comedy Central's STELLA: First Episode Online (Legal)

For those of you who don't know, Comedy Central is going to start airing a new show soon. The name of this show is Stella. It stars Michael Showalter, David Wain, and Michael Ian Black.

You may have heard these names before. Most of you have seen Michael Ian Black on VH1's "I Love the 70/80/90s" shows, as well as other various clip shows. Showalter and Wain show up on Best Week Ever quite often, but are much more well known for writing what I consider the funniest movie of all time: Wet Hot American Summer.

The show starts June 28th, but Comedy Central has put the entire first episode up online for free. You can download it at this page:

Also, it can be downloaded to a "Portable Media Center." I don't know what the fuck that is. I think it's some sort of Windows Media 10 compliant piece of shit video player that is not my PSP. When I clicked on the link, it gave me a warning that this video was only for those devices. However, the download started anyway. Maybe it's because I'm using Safari and their little pop up warning is only designed to shut out shitty browsers like Internet Explorer. Well, I downloaded it but I don't have the right DRM shit on my computer (obviously), so I'll have to watch the streaming version. For those of you with "Portable Media Centers," I guess you're lucky. Here's a link to that:

They really ought to offer this shit in mp4 for PSP.

PSP is a piece of shit as a portable entertainment center compared with:

Just finished watching, and this is pretty much the funniest thing Comedy Central has ever done, with the possible exception of Upright Citizens Brigade.

Bonus points for random Ed Norton cameo!

The downloadable version with DRM works fine with Windows Media Player 10, but the quality is pretty ass-y.

I didn't think it was very funny though. It seems as though they are going for an absurdist Three Stooges but none of the guys have a distinct personality. And why does it seem like they keep switching back and forth between acting normal and acting like really swishy homosexuals?

The State cast members all pretty much peaked with The State, I think. At least this isn't as bad as Reno 911.

I'll agree with this. I think they are trying to do silly voices or something.

The shorts are great. I think the only problem with the show is that they had too long of a storyline. I think if they had a couple completely separate skits they'd be able to do more with less filler. However, I still laughed a decent deal and this is great considering it's a pilot. If only they could show phallices and swear. :(

These guys are so great, I hope the show takes off when it airs. Watch the "Pizza" short if you only have time to do one.

GAAAAAAAAY
Just watched the first episode. QUALITY stuff. Best show not relying on sex/fart jokes since Trigger Happy TV. I hope this does well.

Apparently, you didn't watch "Pizza."

Hope that's not indicative of what's to come.

I just hope they don't run out of material. They've already used a few ideas/lines from the shorts but I guess that's alright because not many people know what Stella is.

It was good though. "We don't have.....this money." :lol :lol

Haven't watched it yet. I'm actually quite hesitant.... I used to be a major State fan and got ahold of a Stella tape a few years ago. It was an hour and a half of unfunny skits. EVERY SINGLE ONE HAD A DILDO JOKE OR IT WAS THE PUNCHLINE. I find dildos funny and all, but come one. Plus I really don't dig Reno 911, so....

Stella has nothing to do with Reno 911...

It got better after the first 10 minutes or so. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it gets better with age. Yes, I've watched the shorts and they were better.
