That's right, its getting cancelled, but the way this story is going, without spoiling anything, it seems rather final anyway. I have no idea what's going to happen this issue, so I'm excited.

Aaron said that this was his planned ending, but that contradicts his earlier statements about having plans after this Kingpin stuff. I think after Marvel cancels a book, they get the writer to do damage control to avoid fan backlash. "Don't worry, its ending with the story I intended all along!" They did the same with Captain Britain and MI-13, and now DeadpoolMAX. Of course, this is all speculation on my part.

Jason Aaron is ending a lot of his comics this year. PunisherMAX is done this week, his multi-year runs on Wolverine and Scalped are ending this year as well. I'm hoping its because they're giving him Avengers or something.

Same thing with Mark Waid, who's two creator-owned Boom! titles are ending this year. He's confirmed he's doing some Marvel projects, but couldn't comment further.

Spidey on FF makes sense for the character, but he's done very little on the Avengers besides pop wise(which, considering that's how Bendis writes most of his characters, makes him stand out even less). Wolverine is just on too many damn teams as it is. When does the man sleep?

i'd rather have the artists alternating arcs

each arc having one artist the whole time is important to me because i like visual cohesion. having different artists with wildly different styles jumping in and out of every issue crushes the mood and throws me out of the immersion.

I can't stand fill-in artists in the middle of a story arc. Its even worse when its in the middle of a damn issue! God bless Bachalo, but the guy can't seem to count over three issues these days without needing fill-ins. WATXM #3 had half a dozen fucking artists and inkers, shit was sad. Same thing happened with ASM's 5-issue "SHED", or X-men's 6-issue "Supernovas". If you can't even do full story arcs without fill-in work, then maybe you should stop signing up for them and spare the readers the disappointment. It can't have been fun for the guys reading Avengers with Mike Deodato Jr and Daniel Acuna to suddenly have Renato Guedes in the middle of the story.

Speaking of Avengers, that's maybe the most frustrating book on the stands for me. I so WANT to like it. The biggest Marvel heroes facing off against its biggest bad guys like Hydra and Devil Dinosaur and shit, with some of the best artists at Marvel drawing(Deodato Jr, Acuna, Immonen, SIMONSON, etc). But for the life of me, I just can't even stand to read them. Like, I can feel myself being in physical pain reading those books. That's how bad Bendis is to me. I breathed a sigh of relief when I read April's story is his final one.

Every year when I get my refund, I set aside a bit of cash for comics. This year I'm trying to decide between Absolute All-Star Superman and the Library editions of Hellboy (1-3). What say you gaf? I know most of your thoughts on Morrison but just curious to see what you'd pick.

I'm gonna side with Absolute All-Star Superman, because I love it soooo much. Some days I just pull it out to look at the pages and giggle like a school girl.

Plus, I always liked BPRD more then Hellboy.

I was thinking about interracial relations in comics. So far the only interesting ones I can think of are Donnor and Blitzen, Mach 5 and Songbird, John Stewart and Hawkgirl, and Luke Cage and Jesscia Jones.

There was also Technocrat, Katanna, and Halo, but that was freakiness on a whole new level. Am I missing some.

Yes

and I never talk about X-Factor, but I've been enjoying it for years now. Its really a unique thing in the Marvel Comics. It sells low but very consistently, and besides the odd crossover tie-in, Marvel basically just lets PAD do whatever the hell he wants in his little corner of the MU for the last 6 years.

Hmm well I actually read the first two years of outsiders (up to infinite crisi) and I remember her being introduced as a bouncer at a nightclub that enjoyed fooling around with arsenal. Don't recall them saying she was amazon.
