I'm not liking Aaron's Stay Angry Incredible Hulk arc so far, 3 issues in, it's very wordy and not what i expected from the premise and talk. Next MU book i read will either be some more of Fractions Iron Man since i dropped that book around Siege or Journey into Mystery, which i'm hyped for.

I've heard that arc is basically Crank.

Is it basically Crank?

Year 100 is one of my gaps in Pope (along with 100% and his Solo isssue - for shameeeee) so I'm pretty exxxxcitedd for this one.

I read that description too, but its more like if crank were full of narration boxes with a little action each issue.

You haven't read 100% OR Year 100?

Rectify this immediately, frye

I know! I have Heavy Liquid (ownsss) and the new collection Image put out this year but Year 100 was OOP for a long time iirc and 100%... I have no excuse for that one really.

Yeah, Aaron's Hulk was a mess pretty much out of the gate and I tapped out long before that. The idea of a Crank-lite arc was somewhat interesting but by that point - eh...

Most of my favorite DC titles are books that were unaffected by the new 52, Batman and Green Lantern. Aquaman has been great, but Justice League has been hit or miss. Please give Shazam his own book already.

List time

Green Lantern New Guardians 19
Justice League 19

Age of Ultron 6
Cable and X-Force 7
Captain America 6
Superior Spider-Man 8

Unaffected? They where affected too you know.

GL changed a bunch of stuff like messing with Guy's back story and the entire Blackest night/ Whitest Day event which is a huge linchpin of the story makes absolutely no sense anymore in current continuity. Some version of it still happened but it sure as heck isn't the version we read.

And Batman is seriously messing things up right now since they are redoing several characters origins like Man-bat. Not to mention the year zero stuff about him going out as a vigilante before becoming Batman or all the stuff they had to do to fit that many robins into such a short time frame. Not to mention how wiping out Teen Titans has seriously messed up Nightwing's continuity.

And I hate what they've done to the Justice league. Considering they've been working together for years at this point why do they act so incompetent and have such shitty teamwork/trust issues?

Have the JL really been working together for years in current continuity though? There's no real time reference in that book. They do act like they've known each other for 5 minutes though.

They've been together for at least five years.

Timeline goes Superman appears -5 years pass-> Darkseid attacks and the League forms -5 years pass-> Present Day.

Can't believe there are people out there who dont own this book yet.

I've never heard of Pope's work before. Is Year 100 a good start? The art on it's pretty nice.

Anywho, list time!

Adventure Time #15
Batwoman #19
Ghostbusters v.2 #3
Sonic Universe #51

EDIT: I see that the volume one of Dial H is coming out, too. Should I bite?

Unaffected comparatively speaking to their contemporaries yes. For the most part every recent event still happened in some fashion. That Tim Drake isn't really Tim Drake isn't really a big deal when he was still the 3rd Robin and Tali Al Ghul is still trying to kill her son, ya know?

^^^ don't think so

CAPTAIN AMERICA #6 - Romita Jr! Janson! White! Uncanny Avengers is finally picking up steam but Cap is still Remender's top book
DAREDEVIL #25 - These dudes have been slaying recently and they'll probably keep on slaying and also this is a v. good comic
DAREDEVIL END OF DAYS #7 (OF 8) - I honestly don't really like this at all and am only reading it up because of residual affection for the first Bendis run (since displaced by Waiddevil as the Second Best Daredevil Ever) because I'm a shithead who needs to not read stuff he doesn't like

BATMAN YEAR ONE HUNDRED TP NEW PTG - paul pope fucking owns

"Morrison has also written a new afterword for the paperback to correct and clarify errors and omissions in the hardcover edition."

So, probably not. I can't remember any glaring errors from the Kindle edition in 2011 which I assume is based on the Hardcover.

Got it, thanks.

Distressing lack of Legion in your pull lists. Even you New 52 haters can't fault it; it's one of those titles that essentially ignored continuity change, (aside from the mention of the Flashpoint Time Barrier and the Legion Lost team being stranded).

And the Fatal Five are fucking shit uuuuup.

My boy Mon'el gonna throw down with Emerald Empress? Yes PLZ.

I read some of Legion when Levitz was writing it before the new 52, hated it, probably not going to give it another chance unless it gets crazy reviews.

Batman Year 100 isn't on Comixology, i'd probably buy it.

Yeah the first year was pretty much a holding pattern but the last few issues have been getting intense.

Just unfortunate that it's hovering near cancelation territory. The thought of going from 2 Legion ongoing to none sad faces me something fierce.

I really enjoyed Legion Lost. It was a great concept and had a few great issues.

As long as Levitz is around Legion isn't going anywhere. I was reading it pre N52, but couldn't get into it afterwards. Probably because my favorite Legionnaires were stuck in that awful Legion Lost book.

I wonder what the plan is with them? I mean, are they going to return to the Future? Are they going to sty in the past and show up in other books? Are they going to continue to be in limbo?!

Say what you want, the Tellus issue and the Dawnstar issue were great. Also the Jean/Cyclops/Wolverine style tension with Dawnstar, Wildfire, and Timber Wolf.

And I dont see how Levitz could save the book if it drops too much more. It's at 16,000ish.

The only thing keeping Fantastic Four from being dropped is its closeness to FF, and even then it still isn't safe. #5 was dreadful.

I enjoyed Legion Lost in the beginning when Nicieza was on the book. Things started to nosedive for me when DeFalco took over and the Culling crossover essentially killed any love left that I had for the book. Still saw it through to the end.

The main Legion back was improving in the last few issues that I read. Still got a few months worth of other floppies to catch up on though. I do hope there's a creative team shakeup soon. Levitz has been on it for too long. Needs some fresh blood.
