"Batman" is the only acceptable batbook being published right now. Incorporated is also really good but Batman is something you can pick up the current issue of and really enjoy.

Hopefully this isn't taboo but I'm buying them off Fearless readers online, so I can go back as far as I need to really. I'm specifically looking for back issues, so any of the older comics are possible.

Well shoot. I guess that's that. I'll keep an eye out for it regardless.

Here's an idea, to anyone here, if you could pick a cartoon to have a comic made from it, which would you choose? Bonus points: Would you pick a webcomic artist like they have for AT and RS? And if so, who would you choose?

For me it'd be some ongoing comics based on older cartoons. Things like Visionaries or M.A.S.K.

Don't really follow the webcomic scene so I'd just have Birdie draw them.

Ennis has a weird thing with women sometimes... where they feel like characters Ennis himself would fall in love with. It's probably most evident in the Kit character in Hellblazer where I think he loves the character so much that he has her leave John so she doesn't get killed by the end.

I read that recently and honestly didn't mind because her annoyance was justified and the threat didn't just appear out of nowhere. It didn't feel forced.

It wasn't a complaint necessarily - I love a lot of Ennis' work. It's more of an observation about some of his female characters.

So I just saw this:

invisibles_0.jpg

and now I want to get that Invisibles Omnibus. Is it out of print?

Also, is Seaguy available in TPB's or anything? All I can find are expensive single issues.

Invisibles is getting deluxe hardcovers and I'd probably wait for those instead of that ridiculous behemoth of a book. Only the first Seaguy series has a paperback version. Check your library maybe. I'm sure it'll be collected in a compilation once all three are done (whenever that is?)

It's DC so I have no idea honestly. From here (BC)

The details make it sound like something not worth waiting 9 months for. I just have to figure out if it'd be cheaper to collect all of the paperback TPB's or track down the omnibus I guess.

i still haven't sold my trades after buying the omnibus, though i only have 1, 3, 5, 6, and the last one 7. Word of caution: I'm highly skeptical on the bindings of these trades, two of mine are coming loose from the cover, though the pages are still together.

As i go to sell Nemesis and Supercrooks on ebay, after failing to sell them individually, i'm reminded that pre-ordering Jupiter's Legacy is probably going to end in disappointment.

Has Layman been consistent on Detective? I asked before here and people said it was decent.

Um. Yeah it's decent? It's not on the top of my pile or anything but if you need another Batman book in your life that feels more like classic Batman vs. Rogues Gallery. I don't feel that you are throwing your money away. The Emperor Penguin arc was entertaining.

Ultron 6 comes out this wed eh. Bendis seriously needs to lob off 2 or 3 issues when he does events. The only event he did that could have used another issue was siege :/

Also the one shots so far are better then the main event.

Also Injustice and Earth 2>Nu52 JL

Well Ann Nocenti finally drove me off from Catwoman and I'm not buying it this week. The Batman monologue last issue was the final straw. Still more than enough to read this week though.

B-Dubs

No Scrubs
No. Batman and Robin has been great. As has Batman Beyond.

Batman Beyond has been amazing. I'm a little disappointed at Undercloud's master plan though, sort of hoping that it's a misdirect because it seems kind of lame after 10,000 clowns. That said I'll be sad when the writers switch on the book later this year.

Just read Hellboy up til Storm and Fury.
Excellent stuff and the series really made me like Hellboy a lot.
Hellboy in Mexico is still among my fav. Hellboy stories, although I find it funny that some of the stand alone stories are just a description of a folklore.
Going through BPRD soon.

Now that I think about it, the movies are drastically different than the comics: In the movies they made Liz and Hellboy a couple, whereas in the comic they aren't.

Interesting stuff in Age of Ultron #6 SPOILERS
Wolverine does actually kill Hank Pym in the past, which I guess explains the cover of issue #7. You also see present day Cap getting his head blown off after they travel to the future and are attacked by swarms od Ultron heads

This is so fucking stupid.

So Cap plan of going to the future fails? Still Bendis loves writing Logan as a dumbass douchebag, killing Pym will only create different problems.

It was funny to read everyone here's reaction to the cover for Justice League kvetching about Johns retreading old stories, only to read the issue and have the cover image not even happen in the book. Overall it was a solid issue, and as always, the Shazam backup was outstanding.

New Guardians was fantastic, they just keep hammering home Kyle's exceptionalism.

Another fun month of Vibe, with some
Kid Flash
reveals that were new to me. Dunno of they've been covered elsewhere yet in the n52 though.

Orion and friends was enjoyable as well, I love the dynamic between Diana and Orion. Azzarello is doing a great job with him.

All in all, a great week for me.

It fails pretty much instantly as soon as they get to New York. Yeah I can't think of a single time where Bendis has actually managed to write Wolverine properly, he always comes off as an idiot.

Really looking forward to next issue now to see the timeline change.

does anyone have good knowledge on Batman? Still looking into older issues, and I would like to pick up some that feature Harley and Joker, but don't know where to start. I'm also going to try to pick up the killing joke since I've seen it recommended before.

Bendis has always written Wolverine as a meathead, nothing new there. Still interested to see what ramifications will come from this, someone else will invent Ultron ... Tony Stark?

Remember when, for decades, travelling back in time in the Marvel U and changing key events lead to the creation of a divergent alternative future rather than any changes to the 616 continuum? I wonder why Bendis has been allowed to discard that wholesale.

I love the Harley and Ivy trade, but if you're looking for serious stories look elsewhere. It's a very lighthearted collection of stories.
For Harley, there's also Batman: Mad Love and Other Stories and Harley Quinn: Preludes and Knock Knock Jokes.

They used Dr Doom's time platform thing which apparently conveniently works under different rules. That or just Bendis being Bendis.

That's perfect characterization for Wolverine. See also his eloquent rebuttal to Cyclops' arguments in the last ANXM. "RRRRHATE HIM!!"

Injustice spoilers

Damian you little bastard

Yeah. Game spoilers obviously.

I was so raging when I heard that Damien killed Dick. Who the hell thought that was a good idea, especially considering the chemistry those two had in B&R?

AOU 6 - Is it me, or is this story being told in the most pedestrian way possible?
Wolverine goes back to the exact moment Pym thinks about making an AI...how convenient. And he kills Pym, because that's his solution to everything now...and because Pym largely gives up. Put something unexpected in here: have Pym shrink Wolvie to the size of a mosquito while he talks things out with Sue, don't make Sue into a wishy-washy non-presence, something!
Last month, I was guessing Sentry would end up f-ing things up...even that would have been better than this.
My last hope for something interesting fell away when Sue was confirmed to not be in the future. (Was hoping Sue went with Wolvie after the future attack, leaving the story to fill that explanation in later.)

Now we wait for the alt-present storyline to play out until the story hits the reset button?
Is there anything worth hoping for from the story at this point?
