Just bought The Invisibles Omnibus. Jedeye Sniv I am holding you responsible if it doesn't live up to the hype. 1500 pages for $85 is not a bad deal though.

Boy I hate reading comic book threads on GAF outside this thread. All the pretentious annoying elitist OT posters come out of the woodwork
Dazzler is my congresswoman.
Also, reading Uncanny X-Men 1-3 now and i'm not following what's going on.Why did Magneto have his powers lessened? My understanding was that the phoenix five had their powers mess up after the phoenix force left them as an aftershock, but Magneto wasn't a part of that soooooooo when did this happen/why?
Pretty sure some of that was explained (poorly) in All New X-Men before Uncanny launched. Basically Cyclops messed up their powers some how. It's just a plot device.
Yeah, Uncanny kind of sucks.Uncanny X-Men #3, Bendis couldn't resist his pompous grandstanding dialog between cap and scott that he fell in love with in AvX. Shame on you captain america! SHAME!
Come to think of it, the fact that there isn't a "new mutants" book full of people who will be forgotten by the time a new "new mutants" book comes out is p disappointing imo.
His new mutants are so bad, I don't know how I could actively dislike them within 4 issues but he's managed it.
Scott Summers only cares about saving the pretty mutants; he'd never try to recruit an Eyeboy or a Sharktits.Just pretend they are all of spider-man's children gathered up from parallel earths. I prefer Aaron's take at having a mutant cast in WATXM. It's diverse and interesting.
I get into comics every once in a while and then I realize how expensive it is and then I usually lose interest after a while since I feel the need to really start fresh with a series. but sometimes it can be a bit confusing where some of the more popular series start (Superman, Batman, etc...)
With that said I am interested in the new 52 stuff since it started recently. And I feel like I can realistically start fresh with these.
Is the new 52 basically just a reboot of the DC comics line? Do they still publish Justice League, Batman, etc... outside of the new 52 series.
With that said what are some of the best New 52 comics? I bought the first issues for Justice League, Aquaman, Detective and Action comics on Comixology. Comics seem alot shorter that I remember them.

-Changed it to "mostly a reboot with a few things carried over."
Oh man, I've been catching up on Daredevil after seeing it recommended here and just got to issue 9. I can't believe that they have. Amazing, haha. Second best thing after "Look! It's Red Batman!"Daredevil sniffing his fingers after talking about being with Black Cat

I really want to start reading this. How much of it is out in trade, and how many floppies would I need to buy to catch up?
i have a feeling Dimension Z is a hyperbolic timechamber and the 10 years cap spends there is going to be like 10 minutes or 10 hours in the real world.
Four trades so far, I think:
Volume 1 (#1-6)
Volume 2 (#7-10, 10.1, ASM677)
Volume 3 (#11-15, AvSM6, Punisher #10)
Volume 4 (#16-21)
It's up to issue 25 now. I'm reading the trades and enoying it quite a bit.
Detective Comics #1 actually seems like it was meant to be the most important comic of the relaunch considering there still creating plots out of that issue (Death of the family, Joker's Daughter, etc.)
The biggest thing that didn't get touched in the reboot was Green Lantern. Probably because there was so much shit in the last volume that Geoff Johns would have cried. But I think they should have anyway. I mean, did they ever explain how it was that Sinestro was suddenly a GL again?
That is like the only possibility. Otherwise, all of this is happening in his head, and there never was a Dimension Z.

I like Uncanny X-Men. The gold balls guy is kind of a one-note character IMO, but I like that Australian girl. The real problem for me is that Emma Frost (who is just a regular person with no powers now?) and Illyana have the exact same costume.
Don't forget lady mastermind !
Psht, just because they're both blondes dressed in black with thigh high boots and belted underwear doesn't mean their costumes are the same. The boob windows are completely different! (And Mastermind has bare shoulders! And leggings!)The real problem for me is that Emma Frost (who is just a regular person with no powers now?) and Illyana have the exact same costume.
She's not in uncanny (yet?) but she is around. She's been in ANXM recently.I haven't seen that lady, is she in Uncanny? I haven't gotten #4 yet.
It's my first and only X-Men book, so I have nothing to compare it to, but the whole thing feels like a soap opera. Everyone has crazy superpowers, but they don't use those, they just argue.

You should read All-New X-Men as well. Many feel it's the better of the two, but they also complement each other. If you only read one or the other, you're going to be left with some blanks.
I'm enjoying it too. Scott and Emma's talk in #2 was a cool moment, I always enjoy to see how their powers can affect the smaller details in a relationship. I'm looking forward to whatever is going on with Illyana too. The new kids have potential I think, but I have to say I rolled my eyes at the "POINK is the new BAMF" title, how about earning it with an interesting character before making the gimmick intentions too obvious.I like Uncanny X-Men.
