How is this book, these days? I've heard some pretty mediocre reception at it's start, like Batgirl, but has it gone up in quality?
Worlds' Finest is an average to good book. As you might expect the premise is a Power Girl / Huntress team up book. So the attention tends to get split both ways. They also tend to do one part present, one part flashback to shortly after their arrival on Mainline Earth. Basic premise has been this contention between Karen and Helena; Karen wants to get back home and is working to try and make that happen, while Helena has more or less accepted their new home.
PeeGee is still identifiable to fans of her previous incarnations, save that she is perhaps a bit less "mopey" and a little more, uh, sexually liberated? It's kind of amusing between not being able to tell if she is just joking. I think she is just joking most of the time. Probably.
Art is entirely a personal preference. I was put off by the "Barbie" aethsetic at first but it's grown on me. But Kevin Maguire is leaving at issue 12 so who knows how it'll be after.
It's not the perfect book. It has flaws. One arc in particular dragged early on, but it's been worth my time and I'm looking forward to seeing whether they return to Earth 2 or join up with the current Leagues. They definitely need more interaction in that regard. (Which the next 2 issues seem to be suggesting with the Supergirl showdown?)
