Hmm, tempting. But will be behind New Gods artists edition if I decide to pick one up. $75 is a pretty good price though.

I don't know much about
pre-Flashpoint Supes, but that's an interesting theory. I'm sticking with Ozymandias and the assumption that he's going to try to use the Superman family to take out Dr. Manhattan. Also, the theory about depowered Clark Kent actually being Superboy Prime post-Infinite Crisis is one I immediately buy into.

That would make too much sense. But it probably comes down to market research, showing #1s sell better than #0 issues.

Then the Rebirth logo shouldn't be on the issues following. Or be somewhere else on the cover where it isn't confusing.

Marvel has come out and said this is why they're doing relaunches and renumberings. More people pick the book up if there's a big #1 on the cover(which is why the surviving ANAD books will have big "#1(of the new arc)" on the covers in NOW! 2.0).

#0 issue sales aren't as good as #1 unless they're free.

Good point. And were zero issues a nineties thing?

Also, is there no HC for the Black Panther trade coming next week?

I find this to be so incredibly perplexing. It really just feels like Marvel wants to have their cake and eat it too. Curious to see how the experiment goes.

Other than the art, the difference is where the word "Rebirth" is placed. One is "Batgirl and the Birds of Prey Rebirth" the other is "DC Universe Rebirth Batgirl and the Birds of Prey". Who thought that was a good idea? And can I have their job, cause I 100% won't fuck it up this badly.

This is just as stupid. If you want a new #1, change the goddamn title to something else. It's doesn't even have to be complicated: Radioactive Spider-Gwen. Mighty Thor.

About to watch batman vs superman for the first time, going to go balls deep and do the 3hr version, hope this is good/if I don't survive this, I loved you all. Even rafa, whatever happened to him and his liefeld loving ass.

Hmm... Doctor Strange's new run had a HC release of 5 issues. Probably movie hype tax?

I didn't know this existed until you posted this - it's not available here in the UK.

It's quite uncommon from what I've seen, though it's a standard hardcover not an OHC. I think Black Panther will definitely get one what with Coates saying the first 'season' of the comic is the first twelve issues.

Oh yeah, I have no doubt #1s sell better than #54 or whatever, but I assume the same works for #0. Zero probably connotes optional prelude to a lot of people, while #1 screams being the start of something. No doubts whatsoever about why Marvel relaunches its books on a practically yearly basis.

I'm not reading either Superman or Action but I'm interested in seeing who Mr Oz turns out to be. When Johns introduced him back in his short Superman run, he rooted for Superman in his fight with Klerik when Ulysses showed up, but then he also was working with the Machinist to test Superman. I don't think he's gonna be
Ozymandias
, just because that seems way too obvious.

Lake of Fire #1 - A fun little version of Aliens set in medieval times. The art reminds me a little bit of The Sixth Gun in that it's a little more cartoony than the overall tone of the book. Dialogue can be a little stiff a times but it's fine overall. Way better debut than Horizon or The Hunt IMO. Looking forward to the next one.

Oooh I skipped this but I think I'll circle back and grab it after all

Funny enough the pre-ANAD volumes of Spider-Gwen etc now are Volume 0 and I've seen people asking shops like Big Bang and sites like CMX if it's good to "skip the pre-origin volumes and start with 1". Luckily there are reading guides.

They did this during one of the last Marvel Nows. Don't know if it made a difference but I think they realize people are getting sick of annual relaunches.

It's not a bad film. Though there are some issues with it.

Yeah, the Strange hardcover is just a trade with boards, if that makes sense. The second arc is getting the HC treatment, too.

Question: How was All-New Invaders? Any good? It's piqued my curiosity.

At the very least, the trades should continue numbering. Like, the Ms. Marvel trade following #4 should just be #5 even though the individual issues were re-numbered.

I am watching the original Blob movie right now and its funny how Raimi adapted the arrival of the Symbiote on earth from this movie

And its funny how they want to sell us an ass-old Steve McQueen as an teenager

Omega Men was dope in the end, right? it's half off on IST this week and i'm thinking about placing an order

Double size first issue with no ads, it was like 48 pages long.

Definitely

Omega Men had prooooobably the strongest ending I've seen in a comic? Made great use of the medium as well as putting a great spin on the story.

What, ever??? That good, huh. Wow. I knew people really liked the book.

It's up there for sure. Doom Patrol tier.
It was so good that I'm probably making a thread tomorrow to promote the launch of the collection. If anyone has links to reviews(aside from The Onion and AV Club)I'll gladly feature them in it. If they're your own I'll quote them if you want.

I know I'm late on this, but man, the ending of WicDiv #22 is fantastic. I can't wait to see where it goes.

What do we do now?
...whatever we want.

Well. Haha. I'm not sure what to say to that. Guess I'm going to have to buy it and find out! That is a super strong recommendation to me, very interesting. I was looking at the trade yesterday, £10 for a big thick book as well, hard to say no.

Wow. I am literally waiting for someone to come along and argue this with you guys. I very much have followed the buzz around the book and the good reviews, but I did not think people meant medium defining.

Spider-Verse was fun big time

YbfUDFe.jpg

The main book was fun, espescially with all these creative Spider-Men and -Women. The real jewels are the tie-ins, my most favorite was the one set in Stan Lees Newspaper Strip. Even when I dont like what Slott has made with Morlun, I liked him more when he just hunted random animal totems and wasnt a multiversehopping vampire, I really love how much apprecipation Slott always shows for Stracynzkis Run. Loved to see Ezekiel again.
Also the art was amazing. Loved it so much.

Kaine has not shown up yet again?

Still have the Spider-Woman and Scarlet Spiders books to read, will write about these in the following days.

Typical MU six months behind caveat, but I love Silk's book, pre and post SW. There are too many Spider people right now, and eventually I know they'll be culled, but Silk cannot be one of them. Love the writing, love the art.

Miguel is at least back in the never ending year of 2099 so they are getting pulled apart.
I hope a couple of Spiders getting killed in the Clone Event. Its far to overcrowded right now, 616-New York should be overfilled with webs right now.

Yeah, that's kind of the problem... I like Miguel, Miles and Gwen, too.

Peter
Miguel
Miles
Gwen
Silk

...that's too many, but I like all their books right now, and I don't really want to see any of them end.

Also, everyone of the fills a gap.

Gwen is the book that is for the female readers, Silks seem to be the female book that is actually good, Miles wont go because he is popular, the only one I dont know where to put is Miguel. But I have the feeling that his return to 2099 is a last effort to get some books sold.

Also, there is the Venom book. Yet another Spider.
