I'm ok with Colossus being a major villain for the movie. I just want more Colossus. And Ice-man.

But mostly,

It's the token X-Man, so non-comic folks have some idea that Deadpool belongs to the same universe.

The real question is, why are they using Negasonic Teenage Warhead? She's pretty obscure.
True. Is she a big Deadpool character? I only know her because she popped up in Whedon's Astonishing.
Disney as fuck
That comic doesn't stop delivering
that Cable shade is soul crushing lol
Yet perfect

Thank you my fellow Footie fan! GO SOUNDERS!

Yes.....I love the fooseball.....GO.....THEM!

Depends. Do you like seeing characters you enjoy systematically killed off one after the other?

In all seriousness, it has ups and downs. Overall, it's pretty good.

I was actually quite happy they killed off
Inanna
.

My haul though I plan to pick up some more

Paper girls 1-3
Sex Criminals 11-13
Stray Bullets: Sunshine & Roses 2-10
Low 1-10
East of West 18-22
Black Science 12-18

Pretty Deadly 6-7
Tokyo Ghost 1-4
Outcast 1

If I like Descender and Outcast I will buy the rest

Nice! I'm sure the unbolded are nice too I just haven't read them.

Don't think so.

I'm reading Tales of the Batman: JH Williams III and there's some really great stuff in there. I haven't really ever read any late 80s Batman besides Year One. This is pretty great so far.

I think Girly Hijinks-GAF might enjoy Hex11.

Ellie is a good combination of cute, spunky, and inexperienced so far through 2 issues.

It's still on sale through the CMX Submit sale. Promo code Indie.

In the world of Hex11, humans, through the discovery of a new energy source called The Ether, have found they are capable of Magic. As civilization moves from the Digital Age to this new Magic Age, corporate and federal entities are concealing what they know, seeing an opportunity for a new level of control and unprecedented monetary gain.

Meanwhile, a class war is brewing in the urban underworld known as The Hex; where the have-nots have found themselves after years of injustice and oppression. It also serves as a haven for the magically inclined, a place where they can operate in secret. One such woman is Elanor Kent, a young witch living in the Hex and apprenticing the eccentric Vera, a very powerful witch. Though she aspires to master the many facets of magic, she finds herself practicing basics and running Vera's errands. However, when one seemingly ordinary task places her in the crossfire of a black market warlock and a demonic mercenary, the excitement she had hoped for becomes all too real and all too dangerous...

Happy Christmas comicsgaf. (Already the 25th in my current time zone).

Halfway through my holiday and I am starting to miss reading comics.

Watched Star Wars and that was a disappointment too. Finn and maybe a couple of scenes were the only thing memorable about it.

You know what was a cool thread? That one thread that explained everything about Ultron before AoU came out. There should be more threads like that. Explaining major characters that people are incredibly unfamiliar with before a movie comes out. They're enjoyable threads.
Don't think so.
Hmmm then that is odd.
He seems really familiar. Was in the Fantastic Four book during the whole Initiative stuff? When the team consisted of Ben, Johnny, T'challa, and Storm?

I liked it more on my second viewing. I'd go again but going to the theater is too time consuming. Got to get there early, 30 minutes of ads/trailers, etc. so I'll wait for the blu ray

I'm going to go see it tonight in 70mm for the first time, I think I've been spoiled on one thing (in dota 2 of course) but I don't know for sure and I don't want anyone to confirm it. All the Abram's films I've seen have been good popcorn flicks but not super memorable, I do think critics love him and overrate him a bit (those star trek reviews), so I'm not going in with crazy expectations.

I'll be happy if the film isn't over reliant on nostalgia and doesn't feel like a remake of a new hope.

I like seeing the villain's history but the movies never live up to the source material. Maybe someone can make a Doomsday thread explaining why he's such a one dimensional character :p, but a Lex thread would be cool. I probably won't participate in anymore BvS threads in fear of spoilers and lack of positive discussion.

She's a cutie. She came out pretty great considering how simple her costume actually is.

That picture isn't entirely accurate, though. The wings on the final piece look just like insect wings in that you can see color through them.

So I've been out of the comics game for a few months, so I'm sure this has been covered to death, but oh my stars and sweet Christmas garters, is the iPad pro an absolutely insane comic reader. I'm not saying you should get one just for that, because it's too expensive for that, but holy crap!

Weird world 1 on the giant screen was one of the most beautiful comics I've ever read. Fun too.

In all the catch up,mi will say that I'm very disappointed that daredevil went with the most boring, retcon reversal storyline they could go with. No Kirsten is bad enough, but putting the secret identity back in the bottle is so boring.

Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun to see Mignola combining Hellboy-style mythos and storytelling with Batman's mythos, creating an interesting and unique tale that I really enjoyed. Of course, as with all Mignola tales, the art was on point. Just a very cool, yet macabre story, that was a very enjoyable treat and a nice break from the usual Batman fare.

Earth 2: World's End Vol. 1

Another story I really enjoyed, due to the fact that everything Earth 2 has been sick and awesome and hype as hell. A lot of story to pack in here, I feel like some of the stuff gets a little lost. The battles to feel to have much impact, utilizing as little space as possible within the story. A bit disappointing, since Earth 2's fights were always pretty good. Very emotional, however, and I like that. Still, it handles all the simultaneous stories surprisingly well, though obviously not the backstories to a lot of the newly introduced characters. Though, that's essentially what the last run of issues (Volume 6 in the trades) of Earth 2 was for. Having read that, it gives a lot more weight to what's going on here.

All that aside, I'm still really enjoying it. Knowing a bit of what happens in Convergence (effectively where this story finishes) does diminish the tension slightly, but it also doesn't break it, and that's what's important.

The art is probably the weakest part of this, taking on a slightly more cartoon-y look in some areas. Using a little bit of strange distortions here and there. The art still works and fulfills it's purpose, and the change isn't particularly offensive, so it's fine.

All in all, I'm ready to continue this story, having been one of my favorite (if not my favorite) of the New 52 stories.

Oh, one last bit; why the hell is
John Constantine
here? It makes no sense. I don't remember anything happening
in his book or JLD
that would have caused it.

I would be more than okay with a Doomsday thread.

I remember there was a Thanos thread awhile back that didn't last long.

Let's see, Slayven did the Ultron thread

That Gravity guy reminds me, what's the last time Marvel successfully made a new male character that wasn't forgotten 5 minutes later?

They seem to do well with females (X-23, Silk, Spider Gwen, Angela) but I can't remember the last time a male character was introduced (that mattered / stuck around)

Miles?

Angela's not new technically.

Does Peter Porker count?
