COMICS!!! |OT| December 2016. Motor Girl is my new Motor Crush

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
I couldn't feel any less Chrismassy.

Might be because it's the first Christmas without my Grandma, but I just don't feel excited for Christmas at all

Okay, it took some doing and a few customer service reps but they're going to ship me a new Harley from Amazon first party and refund me the difference between their price and the lower 3rd party price.

I think they expected me to just pay 20 dollars more for the same statue even though they would both be fulfilled by Amazon.
Yar, I bought it from Amazon to avoid this, just waited for them to drop price to match third parties. The wait for delivery continues though...

Merry Christmas comicsgaf, I hope everyone gets BvS blu rays.

Don't quite get the praise for Monstress after Volume 1. Squirrel Girl beats up the Marvel Universe is great though.

nah the worst shit was when they blew Slipknot head off and the bitch said "Now that's a killer app."

You just sold me on the movie. Gonna buy the extended cut now, thanks to your glowing recommendation.

Just got up to date on the Clone Conspiracy, so spoilers:
This is hilariously stupid, but damn if the Ben reveal didn't make me want to read more of it now. I can't believe they went back to the original clone story, I kinda love them for it but also hate it a bit. Also this made me wonder a lot about how little impact the whole year-long work of the incursions and the reboot of the timeline actually had heh.

Already this seems like a "sorry" for OMD/OMIT in a weird way, and while I haaaated it big time for the first few episodes, I gotta admit I'm in now.

Non-spoiler tldr: I like it more than I probably should.

Finally done with Lee/Kirby's FF Omnibus 1. The last 20% was slow reading because the freshness wore off and it stayed rather procedural. Even the scope of the stories seemed a bit scaled back from the first 20-25 issues or so. But am excited for Cosmic awesomeness in the next volume!

This cover for #29 was excellent though!

And with that, I also went past reading 1000 issues in 2016!

How do you issue a mea culpa for
OMD/OMIT
without reversing it.

Spoil me.

Brie Larson tweeted about the Spidey/DP book. Insuring the sales of book skyrocket again.

The joke wasn't even funny since they went out of the way to say her name instead of just joking about Room/The Room.
The fact they still don't have a director despite promising to announce one before the end of 2016 is sad. Here's to hoping Marvel haven't sent her the last run of the Captain Marvel book.

It's a 2019 film, I expect something early next year. I'm more shocked Ant-man 2 hasn't locked in details with Avengers 3 we know who's going in.

Even Moon Girl and Ms. Marvel get no mercy. lol

Or Lockjaw. And people always liked Lockjaw!

I've tried to be responsible on the DC sale. The temptation to buy all of Batwoman or Ex Machina is significant, but I spent a lot already on the various sales so I just finished off the last few trades of Fables and the last volume of Batman Eternal.

Well, not yet, but so far (heavy clone conspiracy spoilers)
in a really cool twist they brought Ben Reilly (the original one, in a way) back as the "villain", previously thought to be Miles Warren, they brought Kaine back in a relevant way and they pulled Gwen into the universe with another really well-written (I think) twist. It really feels a lot like a pretty cool continuation of the Clone saga and long rewritten Spider-Man lore in a way OMIT was quite the opposite of. IDK maybe it's just me though :D

I currently have two different carts(one on PC and one on phone). Marvel+Image and DC. The DC one is currently about twice as large. I think I'll end up picking up the OML and AN Wolverine volumes and a few Image issues on top of the DC cart.

If anyone is thinking about reading Bombshells, now's a good time.

Coogler was announced as the director for Black Panther in January 2016, about a year before filming starts and about two years before release. I think I've also voiced a similar complaint in the MCU thread, but it's not exactly unreasonable for them to wait a bit longer. Technically I think Feige didn't say they'd reveal the director, just that they were expecting to have one by the end of the year. Not sure if we've had any rumors on the Captain Marvel director lately though.

...What are you even wearing Rich?

(This was when Vance was in prison, they had just called him to wish a happy holiday and he cried due to missing their voices so much)

(Re)reading Snyder Batman (read about half of it in the past already, but not the full run) to "catch up" to all the current bat stuff, which I grabbed as of the latest Comixology sale. Having read up through the end of the Owls stuff now, it's of course great, but also let me say that that Labyrinth issue was not meant to be read in their browser reader on a computer. Like, couldn't find a reasonable way to rotate the display, and my laptop's too big to reasonably flip it, so I was stuck just straight up twisting myself around to manage to look at it upside down in order to properly read those pages. So I guess there's an advantage of print over digital that I never really considered until now...

One of many advantages.

Just read The Killing Joke for the first time. My wife got it for me as an early Christmas present. VERY good. Lived up to the hype.
