(Re)reading Snyder Batman (read about half of it in the past already, but not the full run) to "catch up" to all the current bat stuff, which I grabbed as of the latest Comixology sale. Having read up through the end of the Owls stuff now, it's of course great, but also let me say that that Labyrinth issue was not meant to be read in their browser reader on a computer. Like, couldn't find a reasonable way to rotate the display, and my laptop's too big to reasonably flip it, so I was stuck just straight up twisting myself around to manage to look at it upside down in order to properly read those pages. So I guess there's an advantage of print over digital that I never really considered until now...

On a tablet you just lock the screen orientation

awww man, plz hear about my first world problems.

my Nexus 9 broke earlier this year, so I replaced it with a Nvidia Shield.

it was a lot smaller, but way cheaper too ($200) and had a lot of good reviews! The space was a downgrade too (went from 32 gigas to 16), but it had a memory card slot! So I was like ahhh yeay I'ma fit hecka comics in there!

Nope!!

completely overlooked the fact that Comixology is probably some proprietary DRM technology that cant be put onto the SD card... my device has already been full for months :(

that's all comixology too! like I bought a gaming tablet that I cant even play games on lol. I tried to buy Lora Croft Go the other day coz it was only $1 but even tho there was sufficient space to download, there wasnt enough to install lol.

and now I'm looking at all these comixology sales, literally got like over $100+ in comics in my cart, knowing the price is gonna go down more than half with a few promo codes,

but where am I gonna put these comics? lol.

the struggle is real!!

in other news,

I'm reading the 90s Jim Lee xmen stuff in an effort to clean up a bit of space on my device,

man this series is real good!!! why cant today's Xmen comics be this good?!?!?!

I guess that's what current day Valiant is for...

My favorite Batman event was no mans land. Runner up: The knightfall/Quest/end trilogy. Both have trades for them.

One of my favorite more modern run was Greg Rucka's Detective comic work. Starts right after no mans land. Really cool color scheme used in it as well. https://www.comixology.com/Detective-Comics-1937-2011-742/digital-comic/39215?ref=c2l0ZS9saXN0L3RhYmxldC9ncmlkTGlzdC9Jc3N1ZXM

Here are some more, including the bat family
Batman #452-454. Batman Dark Knight, Dark City. https://www.comixology.com/Batman-1940-2011-452/digital-comic/149775?ref=c2l0ZS9saXN0L3RhYmxldC9ncmlkTGlzdC9Jc3N1ZXM

Batman #251. One of the best joker stories by Denny O'Neil and Neil Adams. https://www.comixology.com/Batman-1940-2011-251/digital-comic/12302?ref=c2l0ZS9saXN0L3RhYmxldC9ncmlkTGlzdC9Jc3N1ZXM also collected in the Neil Adams trades

just double tap and go to guided view
I tried this and it didn't seem to work on that issue (though admittedly just clicked it to check, saw it was still upside down when it zoomed in on the one panel, and unclicked).

I have no tablet, just a laptop, which didn't really work for that. Largely because I literally can't think of anything I'd possibly want one for outside of being able to relax in bed comfortably with digital comics (which sounds nice, but not nice enough for me to justify getting a separate device solely for that purpose.)

Turn your laptop.

So, I'm not going to jump on them now (due to my previously mentioned lock down on further purchases), but for future reference, does Comixology have LoSH stuff covered enough that it'd be plausible to jump into that stuff? It's something I've been interested in as they seem to have some really big fans, but I never really knew how to approach that stuff. And am I right in thinking that the Fourth World stuff is still incomplete on there, or do they have that all up by now?

Also, the one thing that maaaaay make me break my "no more purchases" with a single exception because I probably would've put this on higher priority had I remembered... There was a run on I believe Batman and Robin, that was well liked around the time Morrison was doing his thing (but not Morrison's Batman and Robin). IIRC it at least somewhat covered the mourning of all that stuff with Damien? Either way, I recall hearing it mentioned quite a few times positively, but I'm blanking on exactly what run I'm thinking of. Can anyone point me to that run, and am I remembering correctly that it was really well liked?

I think so for Legion. I can always recommend Legion Lost (the original non 52 one with copial art) it's fairly self contained and what I started my Legion reading. Prior to that they basically have almost all the classic levitz runs

Fourth world I think is still incomplete. But I haven't dug into it to check. Tim would know for sure They've still been doing releases so probably next year it'll be good

My problem with digital is that my eyes get sore. I read a lot of comics. Staring at a screen that long isn't good for my eyes.

Read Flintstones 1-3. I wasn't sure I'd like it, even after reading some pages posted here. It has blown me away so far. Perfect, fantastic fucking comic.

Thinking of checking out the Attack on Titan manga. That Season 2 trailer looked pretty awesome. The only manga I've read is Parasyte, will I be lost? Not sure if AoT is a good relatively introductory series.

Although on the plus side, some of the issues I've seen in reviews, mainly with it having a lot of "shonen" tropes (not sure what that is), won't be a problem for me, because I'm completely unfamiliar with anything manga related
