COMICS! |OT| February 2015. No ship girls. Oh, we got a Tank Girl though!

Like, if I preordered a ship girl, it would be Kan Colle.

I got into it purely by accident

I saw figure gaf freaking out about it and was like "this is really fucking stupid thing"

I had no idea it was a game or anything first. I saw the episodes on crunchyroll(which exists for her sailor moon episodes) and showed my wife in a show of "look how fucking stupid this thing is" and then now we're caught up and we're kancolle fans and god dang

it gets you

So do ship girls have all this stuff actually attached to their bodies or are they just carrying big weapons that are strapped on? And why?

Again, I am not googling any of this stuff while at work.

but I am taking tiny steps forward
Is Batman Inc. worth checking out blindly?

Batman Inc. is my favorite part of Morrison's Batman run, but I'd say no, probably not. It's pretty much the payoff for Morrison's whole run, so reading it by itself I'd imagine you'd feel either confused or like the moments lack the impact that they'd have if you'd have read the rest of the run. I'd simply suggest reading the whole thing. :p

Man, Batman & Robin 39 is just the perfect light-hearted and fun story. Also, I feel like Gleason was excited to get Damian back, because his art has been fucking beyond dominant since Robin's return.

I'm so excited to read Tomasi/Gleason's B&R eventually.

How is Snyders Batman run so far? Figure i would just round up my instocktrade order and having been out of the comic loop for the better part of the last 10-15 years (minus a select few series like Invincibe and TWD which i have been keeping up with for a couple years) i dipped my toe in 2 issues of Chew and Saga on comixology and immediately ordered the Chew omnivore stuff and Saga deluxe because holy shit those books are mind blowing good.

Anyways, i feel like i need some Batman in my life and some dark ass dark Batman and i keep hearing it's great, it's awful, it's great, it's awful.

Snyder's Batman has never been awful for even a single panel.

As the least qualified person here to talk about it, I'll say it's great. That and Batman & Robin are both fantastic. I'd definitely recommend them both. Go back through the run and read as much as you're able. I am going to use this as a chance to say that the main Batman book's logo is pretty terrible though. That thing needs a redesign.

So I was just looking at a preview of EI8HT and it looks awesome. Im not familiar with the writer, Ill be getting this anyway. I always enjoy it when artists who handled more than linework. Pretty impressive he was doing this on his own time.

Here are a couple preview pages

Pretty sure some of the B&R hcs are out of print. That series is fantastic and shows such heart. Great art too.

Wonder if the series will ever get bigger HC or like absolute or something.

I hate to have one volume on paperback and the rest HC (first world problems i know) i just prefer HC.

Ebay will probably have some, and you should definitely track it down so that you can start the series.

Dark Horse putting all these great new books on their shitty old app is really chafing my sides.

So Margot Robbie said this

“[It's] daunting. You don’t need to have commitment issues to be frightened by the fact that you might have just signed 10 years of your life away. But with [Harley], it’s a character I don’t think would ever get boring. Ever. So if they did Suicide Squad One, Two, Three… I would be over the moon about it.”

10 years of Margot Harley

:D

Harleen is going nowhere brahs.

So about that Arkham Knight comic #2 spoilers.

jokers body has gone missing. :/

Rocksteady really can't help themselves. I'd die laughing if Joker was the final baddie again. I love that Joker.

Didn't know #2 was out yet. Quite enjoyed #1.

And please God no.

God bless all my old friends/And god bless me too, why pretend?
So I have sort of a treasure hunt going on with a friend. One of the items I need to find the most explicit graphic novel I can find that isn't actually an adult book. So like, no strait up porn comics, but a regular one that is explicit as hell.

In terms of violence or nudity, or both combined, whatever.
Also something easily accessible from a bookstore and also legal. No web comics either, something in print.
Bonus points if it's also a good read.

Any help?

I want to say Crossed but i'm sure some of the more sophisticated posters here know worse.

Noooo Leonard Nimoy. :( Today is a sad day.

Just read Silk #1 after getting it with the Comixology BOGOF promotion and I preferred it to Spider-Gwen too. Really enjoyed it.

Yeah I even posted saying I didn't really care for Silk's backstory and whatnot, but her first issue was really impressive.

I thought Spider-Gwen was good though. I think it'll scratch that itch that ASM just hasn't done for me since the relaunch. Less big, massive events and more of that day to day stuff dealing with street level villains, family, and friends.

Crossed is a good suggestion or other Avatar books like Dan the Unharmable. Off the top of my head The Strange Talent of Luther Strode is pretty bloody too and an enjoyable read.

Yes! Someone who agrees with me. Both were good but I really liked Silk more. Love the art in it.

Oh yeah, I think Silk definitely had a better first issue. It did a good job at establishing her situation, who she is, etc. I thought the dialogue was fun too.

Both Silk and Spider-Gwen have killer art-- hopefully the artists stay on for a long time and Marvel doesn't pull a Rocket Raccoon on us.

You'll get your 4-6 issues with the announced artist, and you'll like it.

This is the least shocking spoiler I've ever read, and I've read a lot of spoilers.

Agreed. I found the writing to be a bit better for Silk, but I am digging how hip the art is in Spider-Gwen. Hopefully the next issues of Spider-Gwen show a bit of backstory. I liked that flashback to Cindy's past.
