In the last year and a half or so

Paper Girls
Monstress
Motor Crush
Kill or Be Killed
Black Monday Murders
Seven to Eternity
I hate Fairyland
Injection

Those are all fairly high profile

Did those all come out this year? I know Motor Crush, BMM, and Seven to Eternity did. I think the breaks throw me off a little bit.

Maybe the deluxe HCs for WW are also going to collect the alternate issues like the trades? That might explain the delay.

Yeah i'd hope so. I really want that in hardcovers. I can't see them not doing it with Batman and Superman also getting them.

Justice League VS Suicide Squad is also getting a hardcover and its trim size on amazon is essentially the same as the Marvel OHCs so thats a good sign.

The last two image expos had those books and more.

I'm still waiting on most of the Image Expo 2015 books to even start. I liked the sound of Ellis and Lotay's Heartless.

Has there been a lack of stand out new Image titles over the past year or so? It feels like the heavy hitters are firmly established and everything else is sinking to the bottom.

reading Black Monday Murders right now

Might be the best thing Hickman has done (so far and if he doesn't lose interest)

But I think you're kind of right. It was sort of a big deal when Image had all these great creators putting out work and new series seemingly all at the same time

between Saga, Black Science, Deadly Class, Bitch Planet, Sex Criminals, Walking Dead and East of West and a bunch of other quality titles, it seemed like Image was really just hitting it out of the park every month

Just difficult to sustain that kind of excitement

Marvel double shipping: The problem, aside from the price, is that Marvel aren't actually lowering the amount of books. For every book they cancel they announce 2 more and for every event that ends more books than at the start are announced.

Messi, didn't you count up how much it would cost to follow the X-Men line after IvX?

Deadpool I think was the only double shipper til ANGOTG and both X-Men team books were joining in, I do think the extra dollar will hurt the double shippers.

I also think Marvel is gonna clear house of the ones that barely get any attention at this point.

Man all of Bloodborne's Old Hunters bosses are so fucking cool. Even Living Failures does some cool shit. Ludwig and Lady Maria are the absolute best ever. Even if Maria is chump change
Man, Forever Evil is great so far. Halfway through. It feels like, after 20+ issues of Johns coasting through JL, I'm finally at the good stuff.
Phenomenal, honestly. So much fun. I would read books revolving around all those buddy cop pairings they do.

This one is interesting because the first issue of the sequel series just came out last week.

I didnt even remember that Ellis and Lotay announced a book...like...I wanna see that.

Also. Lol at Ribic announcing a book. That shit is never getting done.

Crosswind...I see you Gail. Whats up.

I think BC ran a article listing all the books still missing last year.

Which books still haven't come out?

Lots. I dont want to highlight stuff for fear of missing stuff. But im sure taking a glance at the list you could pull some names of books you never heard of.

this one still annoys me.

there was a third Nick Spencer (lol) comic announced for 2014 that never came out, a collab with Frazer Irving

Found the BC list. First result before even interviews when I searched Lotay Heartless.

Just finished Black Monday Murders

pretty fucking great. Coker is a phenomenal artist. He's like a half step above where Tommy Lee Edwards is. He's detailed but remains super consistent in how he keeps focus. Garland's colors are fantastic. He uses limited sets of colors but very effectively. Mood is strongly established and the colors always add to the line work; they never compete with each other.

Hickman basically does to investment banking what he did with New Avengers. There's a hanging set of dread and horror. Its focused on the occult and languages. The longer issues gives Hickman much greater control of pacing and the book really benefits from it.

The best change Hickman does is to go from white pages to black pages. Really really good stuff.

I bought that today. Hopefully I enjoy it. Love the art. It's signed by Coker.

Ms. Marvel #14
This was a cool issue and a good beginning to a new arc, especially after the past few issues being more standalone. We're starting to see a bit of a darker edge to Kamala: she's becoming more isolated and as a result is becoming more stressed and frustrated. She seems much quicker to anger. This is actually a bit welcome and refreshing. While I do love Kamala, it's nice to see this character go somewhere that isn't always "super happy I love being a superhero"-type character that we see so damn much of. It's the new 90's angry asshole or the 00's brooding edgelord. Keep in mind, I don't want a dark Kamala, but a nice personality change given the events around her makes her feel realistic and human.

Overall a good issue, and partially reaffirms my desire for a GWW Thor run.

Hawkeye #3
I am really enjoying this book. I'm really liking Kate and I absolutely love the bullseyes. This plot seems basic, yet mysterious enough to keep me interested. I don't really have much else to say other than I think it's a mysogyinist group. Still gonna read it.

Jessica Jones #4
Dope issue as per usual. An interesting angle to pull with Jess and her motives, and we finally have the full origin of why everything has come to be the way it is. That said, this villain is very interesting. Detective Costello is a cool character so far, though I'm always the suspicious type when it comes to "too good to be true" characters. The one thing that bothered me about the issue was the ending, and not the event that concluded the issue, but rather the actual dialogue. It felt cut off, and anticlimactic as a result, though to be fair I wasn't expecting a big ending with a slower issue like this.

Keep it up, Bendis. This and Infamous make you 2/2 for me.

Bullseye #1
This was aight. Bullseye's a showoff psychopath killer who's good at his job and has a high expertise in throwing things and killing people. He's a shitheel badass. That said, this didn't do much for me. Everything is good, but it's nothong special. Maybe it'll grab me with the next issue, but as of now it's just okay. I did really like the paperclip scene though.

Nothing interesting from Ellis' newsletter this week aside from him linking to the Jackie Chan video where he's reunited with all his old workmates. He did it because otherwise the letter would be mostly talk about him being sick, his new pad and about a signing in UK.

Does anyone know if comixology works with adoptable storage on android 6+? Thinking of getting a new tablet if I can store comics on an sd card.

I read the first half of the newesr Batman OHC Death & its Maidens.
I like it very much so far. I hope someone uses Ras Al Ghul soon again.

Now reading Starman Omnibus Vol. 6. I'm sad this is the last one. I'm a few issues in and it's crazy how good this series is. I do miss Tony Harris' art, though. I honestly enjoyed his work a lot more than Snejbjerg's.

Is it a hot take to say that I am enjoying Jane Thor far more than God of Thunder?

Also got some books in big bang today.

jane thor is on par with God of Thunder both for different reasons.

God Thor has the better arcs and one off issues, while Janes Thor gets you hyped, but still hasn't delivered fully yet.

God Thor has the better highs, but Jane Thor definitely has time to catch up especially given how great the last issue was.

I tore through the 4 Deadly Class trades yesterday... still waiting on the newest issues to get here. I think they should be in this week.

Right now I'm on 4 of the 6 East of West trades.

And then I have all the Ms. Marvel and The Vision coming in sometime this week as well.

I think I'm going to slow down buying so many trades... though I have a few on my list that I'm considering getting caught up with.

Deadly Class and East of West, chased with Ms Marvel and Vision?

That is some damn fine comics, well done

Old Man Logan #17
God bless Sorrentino, you beautiful son of a bitch. You make the world worth living in. Man this plot got freaky. So we have everyone's favorite supervillain [spoilers]Kang the Conqueror[/spoiler] doing wonky bullshit,
pulling in Puck with Logan to fight the new Warlord, whom is wearing what I can only assume to be Ares' helmet, and then Jeannie has shown up with a Glasgow Smile and is...brainwashed?
I said goddamn. The big question is:
did Kang send Brood from the future to lure Logan in, or was the Brood incident unrelated and them Kamg intervened? And regardless of which one is true, are Brand and Sasquatch still on the satellite?

Best book.

Moon Knight #11
I like how Lemire is going so deep into the mythology and origin of Marc. He's really playing with it, without contradictions. Or at least I think so. Not much of a Moon Knight expert. Still, I'm really digging this arc, and while I enjoyed the mind fuckery, I like the straightforwardness here, though it still keeps it's strong psychological angle. Keep it up kids.

Captain America: Sam Wilson #18
This was pretty powerful, I'll be honest. I love what they're doing with Rage, and Steve might be a villain, but he's still Steve. There's not much more to say, as it's pretty straightforward. Sam said it: It may make people uncomfortable, but they need to know and they need to see it.

Also,
in the panel with the kid with all the Spider-Man wallpaper; is that supposed to be Miles Morales? Surprised they didn't also cut to a Luke Cage reaction panel then if they were including other characters.

Captain America: Steve Rogers #9
So, this issue is interesting. First of all, great action sequence. Real creativity. Secondly, I have some issues with what they reference.
Obviously The Shield is analogous to the Mexican border wall, but let's talk about the reason for building it: obviously, these alien attacks aren't on the same level as the immigrants coming into the US. But on a more Marvel level, when the fuck did ANYONE care about the Annihilation Wave in regards to Earth? That shit was all cosmic because Earth had their collective head up its ass (post Richard Ryder shit talking Tony Stark). So how would SHIELD know if the Chitauri wave is bigger? What contact to they have? Anyone who was part of the defensw force for the Wave is either dead, completely broken away from Earth on the other end of the universe, or on Earth with no means of knowing. This whole thing feels like a forced push for a race no one gave even a remote fuck about until the Avengers movie came out.

Also, does the ending mean Steve is the one who killed Erskine, or set him up? Damn that's a hardcore twist.

On to the next one!
Captain America: Steve Rogers #10
Well this was...something. A hell of a let of set-up for everything to fall a part. A lot happened, but the big thing:
SHIELD has more power than ever, and Steve's at the head. This is the biggest of big things: Steve Rogers as Director. Maria got Carol the Shield, which throws off Steve's plans at the same time as him getting more power than he's ever had.
I also like how they bring back the political themes the book started with, because it's been long overdue.

The Mighty Thor #15
YOU ALL SEE THIS SHIT? HYPE AS FUCK! SOMEONE BOUT TO GET THEIR ASS WHUPPED!

Cul's a shit, but the biggest thing right now:
The Shi'ar have always had gods, right? Curious as to why they decided to show up now. Also, I wonder why Kid Gladiator is there. Figured he'd be chilling with some New Mutants on Earth.
All said and done: Fuck Gladiator. I swear this guy is more anti-villain/anti-hero flip-flop than Namor.

You should probably read a summary of what happened in CW2 The Oath or something because it's looking to be fairly important to the Captain America story.

That is some damn fine comics, well done

I've already done Locke & Key, Saga, and Paper Girls before that.

Things I'm considering next: Black Science, Manhattan Projects, Southern Bastards, Lazarus. Also, the cover of the Black Monday Murders trade keeps catching my eye whenever I see it, but I know nothing about it.

Anyway I want to keep it to no more than like 8-10 series to follow at once for now...

I follow or followed all of those. All dope books

The only one on that list I am somewhat iffy on is Black Science which I dropped. But people have had good things to say about recent issues. I've been thinking about giving it another shot

Oh and we will be lucky to see a conclusion to Lazarus anytime soon. And more Manhattan Projects will probably never happen but what we got is great, still a must read
