oh and also Dean White is doing some of the colors on the new Superman, what
Romita'a art has been looking a lot cleaner and colorful lately.
I dunno. Given that the majority of mine is in piles on the floor because I've been too lazy to get another bookcase or two I'm not looking hot right now myself.
Stack a bunch of omnibuses and you got yourself a mini-table. Nothing should go to waist.

What does the O Malley cover look like? I understand the novelty of the polybag but I would like to see it.

Edit: eh, just got it anyways. YOLO and whatnot.

but I am taking tiny steps forward
Just read a handful of Hellboy short stories from Library Edition vol 2.
So good.

The only issue I have with short stories is they don't have that driving narrative that keeps you reading. I feel totally content just stopping after reading a 5-10 page story because I've completed a whole story. So in a way, I'm looking forward to getting to the longer form Hellboy stories that come after volume 2.

I should post an updated picture of my shelf sometime soon. My shelf is almost at that point where it's perfectly full. I need to be careful which publishers I buy books from so that I don't accidentally find myself with an overflow pile, since each square in my Ikea shelf is a specific publisher.

Also, I feel like I should get just a handful of action figures or statues to add some pizzazz to my comics shelf, but there aren't any I want.

I barely have two shelves (as in, two shelves of one bookshelf) of physical comics. I've embraced the Glorious Digital Future™ without even realising it. I just don't have the space, really.

Hmm well, I've got two sad looking Ikea shelves. One of them I just got recently. I would say I've got a little more than one of them full, but I've got them spread between the two in alphabetical order so I leave a little room for new books. I've got another shelf with blurays and game collectibles, but the blurays are stacked on top of each other because I'm too cheap for extra shelves.

If I had a house, I've had started building a room for this stuff.

Read the first Bitch Planet issue and hated it. I also hated Pretty Deadly. Maybe her creator owned work is not for me.

ReAx have the sads :(

somehow scored that O'Malley SexCrimz variant

and then it was new Casanova day, also somehow

Luckies.

Actual comics reading news:
Read Kaijumax 1 & 2. It's good. I'm in.
There's kind of a barrier with the monster/prison slang but it's easy to get past, imo.

I was organizing my stuff and found my singles of Saga. I was curious to see how much they are worth now.

Holy shit. Saga 1 fetches a shit ton nowadays. I have a few copies, but I think I want to keep my first printing.

I read the first half of the chained coffin in between seed of destruction and the og miniseries. Found it helped with pacing, and it was nice to have Almost Collosus read right after the second mini series as it feels like a continuation of that series. Really really enjoyed the books contained in the first 2 LEs and I think you'll be a big fan of Conqueror Worm, definitely a return to the larger form stories, and actually has some cool continuity stuff going on, Mignola really starts pulling it all together into a universe at that book.

I'm so shocked how much of these books that first Hellboy movie actually managed to cover. I haven't seen it since release but it seems to draw the major Hellboy plot points from like, the first 3 mini series and like, compress them into two hours. Good job there, sort of !

Not sure whether to star buying the LEs and keep reading Hellboy, or to go through those plague of frogs omnis, ahh !

Also, how do you guys story your Dark Horse LEs ? My fear agent is so big ans heavy I dunno if they'd be better served lying horizontally instead of standing, but I'm not sure. Anyone had damage from standing them like regular books for a long time.

Just wait for the inevitable TV show. Cash out during season 2.

you can't have a Saga TV show because how the fuck are you gonna put a dragon sucking its own dick on television

How are they going to make a Walking Dead TV show because how the fuck are you gonna
shoot a kill a new born child and her mother as they run away
on television

You don't. You work around it and all the other shock value crap that exists in Saga.

Yeah, I feel like that would've been a more enjoyable way to read it (by mixing in the short stories with the longer stories rather than bunching all the short stories together). As it stands, I think I'll just sprinkle in some of the Hellboy short stories while reading through other comics. And I'm really excited for Conqueror Worm! I've heard amazing things.

And I used to store my Library Editions horizontally for the same reasons, but then I ran out of shelf space to lay them horizontally and just said screw it and put them vertically. It hasn't caused any problems at all so far. Even Big Damn Sin City which ways about 100 tons and has like 1300 pages hasn't suffered any problems from being stored vertically. The main worry is the pages sagging and tugging on the binding, but the thing is, the pages can only sag the short distance to the shelf that they're sitting on, so they can't physically sag enough to cause any damage. Speaking as someone who was pretty worried about that issue for a while, I've come to find it's a total non-issue. Just store them vertically like any other book and don't worry about it.

You don't.

I mean, there's a way to frame that to make it TV friendly, there's a lot you can do with implication.

The dragon sucking its own dick? You can't really get around that.

I would say that a majority of the explicit material that exists in the book can be changed or altered in a way that doesn't matter. Leave the dragons, have them be in search of its "saliva" or something. Shit like the explicit sex on Prince Robot's TV, the testicles, Stalk's butthole, none of that has any real influence on the story.

those details, and in fact the entire concept of the thing, the dozens and dozens of strange aliens, all that was made to exist in a comic, and really only in a comic. It's not just the dragon sucking its own dick, it's the tiny seal man, the plant lady who likes getting high as fuck, the spider lady bounty hunter, that one giant with the tiny dick and the gigantic balls. only in comics.

Around con times if you sign up for their newsletter felix sends out an email telling you who is doing con commissions. You dont need to be at the con to buy one and felix will ship it out.

That's really cool thanks for the tip I can't see me getting to a con let alone one where well known artists attend till next year when we fingers crossed hopefully can go to NYCC.

It feels like it's been so long since i last read an East of West issue, marathoning through 19 issues that i had in the flop stack and then....waiting. This is not how reading should be done.

I did that with The Fade Out this week, because I genuinely couldn't remember what had happened well enough in the first few issues since it came out.

It read a hell of a lot better. I'm sure I'll have to do the same thing in about six months when there's some more issues. The only reason I don't trade wait on it is because the real legends of Hollywood text pieces in the back aren't going to be in the trades and they're god tier.

That has to be the most forgotten big movie ever. I saw it and I keep forgetting it actually came out this year. It was so disposable
It's so weird. I was hyped as fuck for that movie, and yet I don't seem to care.

Probably because that movie, more than any other MCU movie save for maybe The First Avenger, felt purely like set up for other storylines. Stack that up with the fairly disappointing Ultron and it doesn't come out in the top 5 of MCU movies.
Props brah
Its always amuses me when people celebrate Rorschach or legitimately think he's cool.

Gonna put some of this blame on Snyder, who probably DOES think Rorschach is just the bee's knees
"I'M NOT LOCKED IN HERE WITH YOU! YOU'RE LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME!"
Weren't all the Watchmen characters based on Charlton Comics characters?
Yup. The Comedian was a hybrid of a Charlton Comics character and Nick Fury, that much I know. I forget who Silk Spectre is based on.

I would say that budget wise it would need to be a feature film (or 12), but my point was that the sexual content which is unfortunately a taboo for the states can be cut or altered and have it not hurt the story. Shit...Stalk can even be topless and the sex can remain, it just doesn't have to be as explicit and detailed as it is in the book.

When you make one, I will do it, too.

Haven't been using my room much, constantly find myself thinking, shit I reallllyy need to clean/organize ThyComicCave lol

Im moving my TV and PS4 back in there so I have hope

I'm quite tied between this issue being amazing or a bit self indulgent.

It does feel like getting the core plot going again might be a good idea.

What if this is tied to the core plot D=
Like everything we've read so far will play a role in the finale of the series.
Then again this series has more about the adventure than the destination.
