I'm actually kind of interested in the Avengers of 1,000,000 BC thing. Though I'm not sure if Odin using Mjolnir tracks with what we know about it so far, but I'm down for an ancient Iron Fist, Phoenix, Black Panther and Sorcerer Supreme.

You know it's a good day when your box that just showed up from InStockTrades is so heavy you actually feel a twinge in your left knee as you carry it down the stairs, and are worried your leg might buckle.

So is DD an original Avenger.

I do realise the timescales might not align...

Acht what a bummer, I had no idea Godshaper had settled on just the six issues. No doubt Spurrier will nail it but I'm sure the way he talked about it before launch, he had ideas of more.

Odin: "But Jane, I can cure your cancer!"

Jane: "I'm good B."

X______X

That's the only real part of the story that didn't sit right with me. Like, I get that struggling builds character, but if you've been offered a magic solution to your problems with no downside, then just take it.

I feel like giving her a magic solution to cancer has it's own issues.

That's the thing: it's a magical solution. She could have been cured long before that, but she didn't take it because magic has a price, and she didn't want to risk whatever that price may be. Hell, Mjolnir reverses all her chemo progress from her last change. She's actually gotten worse as time has gone on. That said I haven't read the more recent issues (last one I read was the end of the Asgard/Shi'ar War), so I don't know what's happened.

For the story he's telling, or for the character herself?

My issue is that I feel like if you offer that to any real person, they'd never say no.

Did Odin or anyone lay out what the price for that magic was? It's been a while since I read that issue.

Where is this from? It completely reminds me of the "But the fire burns forever" ending from Final Crisis.

wait Jason Aaron, are you trying to say that

the fire burns forever?

where the hell did you get that from I wonder
Hehehe

What book was it where someone screamed at Mr. Fantastic, Pym, Beast, Tony, Black Panther etc about how they've never worked on a cure for cancer despite Captain Mar-Vell dying(in-universe)like a decade earlier? It wasn't Rick Jones again, right?

Is an Atlantean going to be in Avengers 1,000,000 BC too? I didn't see them mention that.

I'm not sure dude, this isn't the era that will be in the one shot I don't think, this is Thor with his Axe days, but he started seeding and playing with the idea he's employing in the one shot with that story, the deity-esque older iterations of the ghost rider, iron fist, phoenix etc.

It's Mighty Thor 6-7 :) and I haven't read Final Crisis so I'm out in the cold on the joke haha I assume those lines are kiiinda cribbed?

Well, I'd argue it's more of a homage:
But I love Final Crisis and anything that gives me those vibes is worth checking out.

Oh, yeah. That's definitely ax Thor. And a Native American headdress probably doesn't make sense for 1,000,000 BC.

Jesus. Extraordinary X-Men #17 is on MU this week, and what an gut punching emotional issue. Refresher if necessary:
9 year old mutant girl dies of X-Pox at X-Haven in Limbo as Storm prepares for war. Storm (the girl's hero and idol) makes her an X-Man on her death bed.

Lemire is a good writer, yow. I don't know what the consensus was on XvI (it's just getting underway on MU) I assume everyone hated it like most events these days, but Lemire is certainly holding up his end judging by the issue I just read.
I enjoyed IvX, but it pained me that [ENDING SPOILERS]
they didn't figure out that machine for months. Like, that was never an option? Lunella and Forge both were working on means to get rid of the clouds, and yet it took them that long to do it. Plus they worked on a machine together earlier. Like, the fuck?

No, but why would she take that offer from a dude who tried to kill her? Plus I'm pretty sure she knew she couldn't be cured and wants to go out as a hero
If you could force everyone ITT to read five currently ongoing comics, what comics would they be?

The Unbelieveable Gwenpool
Shade the Changing Girl
Tomboy
Mother Panic
Star Wars: Doctor Aphra
Giant Days

In that order.
ROM
Detective Comics
Superman
X-Men Blue
Old Man Logan
I'm sold on this book now. I like the creative team and the interview makes it sound really good.
Hopefully it's good. I'm upset he's not Cap anymore. I wonder what's gonna happen to the other Falcon.

He's probably going to end up joining the Champions.

Haha yea, you can definitely see in that little arc the genesis of his idea for the legacy one shot though, I would recommend it, it's really cool. The guest artist, Rafa Garres, does some awesome work too.

Heh, InStockTrades got my order *mostly* right. Hellboy Library 4, 5, and 6, and Transmet Absolute 1? All just as described...

...but they randomly swapped in Preacher Absolute 2 in place of the Transmet Absolute 2 that I ordered. If I didn't already *have* Preacher Absolute 2 I might keep my mouth shut and just keep it, as it's a slightly more expensive book. But I guess now I have to get this heavy-ass Absolute back to them somehow and have them send out the book I actually ordered.

Hey, at least you'll have those HB LEs to console you while they sort it out!

They are probably going to try and rebuild him with Defenders.

But they can kill him and give us Quake.

I really love Jane Thor. Like, Avengers made me realize just how much I love that character. She's so fucking noble.

I feel like I'm in the minority, but I really like The War of Jokes and Riddles. My only real issue is the way it's being told. Like, this is literally being framed as Batman's pillow talk and that's a dumb ass conceit. I like the story itself though.

AN Guardians and AN Wolverine are both still great. I'd read the fuck outta Gabby and Wade. Also, super excited Gabby is getting a code name.

Also, would read the fuck outta a Cassandra Cain and Laura Kinney book. Best broken birds.

Also, All New Patriot is fucking worthless. Gimme Eli back.

Yeah, the Hellboy Library editions are SO GOOD. Great feel, thick but not *too* thick, big pages but not *too* big, nice bindings, awesome look to the spines on the shelf, rational price points, etc etc etc.

The Fear Agent library editions are really good, but the Hellboy ones just feel perfect.

Percy is writing a pitch perfect
Kate Spencer
in Green Arrow. I can't wait for the inevitable reveal of
her all decked out as Manhunter to help Ollie and co take down the Ninth Circle
.

So I've heard! And saw. In my dreams -_- lol.

So I was reading some Black Panther stuff recently, and now I'm confused (I know, I know, comics).

Reading through the current BP run, I assumed Shuri was hurt because of what happened in Infinity. I've also read through Secret Wars, and I remember people here saying that BP was one of the few that remembered the events, due to using the Time Stone.
But now I've finally read the New Avengers lead up to Secret Wars, and realized that T'Challa returned just before the first incursion and a while before Infinity. Did he randomly decide not to save his country with his foreknowledge, or am I reading this wrong?
