That was just me guessing so we'll see lol. I just want to see the titles and creative teams.
I wanna riff off this for a minute. The most interesting thing (to me at least) that Marvel has been doing with ANAD and looks to continue with Now! is actually establishing a legitimate second generation of heroes. Sure there's been Avengers Academy, Young Avengers, New Mutants, etc books in the past but due to the rolling timeline the old Marvel U had, you didn't really serious those characters get a chance to stick around and establish themselves.
In a universe where heroes as a whole have only been active for ~15 years (or whatever goofy math they used based off Franklin Richards age at the time), they core heroes were constantly in their prime and there was really no need or reason for a younger generation to exist. But if you look at the right side of the teaser image, those young, second generation characters stand on their own and are identifiable known commodities for the most part.
It's just a shame this is being ushered in with yet another round of hero v hero conflict. But I guess that says more about editorials lack of confidence in their roster of villains (outside of Doom) to carry a story than anything else.
Cape comics are better when both companies are pushing each other to be great.
Technically, it's the same mindset that brought us the brilliant Riot at Xaviers. Broadcast that over the whole MU and this shit is getting better and better.
And I can TOTALLY see this being influenced by Brexit, the Bern, etc. It's quite vital, subject-wise.
Think about it (if this is really what's happening), you've got all these young heroes like "Hey, dipshits. Your ridiculous squabbling has lead us to [WHATEVER HAPPENS AT THE END OF CIVIL WAR II, SEE ALSO: BREXIT, SEE ALSO: TRUMP]. We're going to take it from here, KAY?"
That's frankly fucking AMAZING.
We'll see though. It could just be STANDOFF II. THE STANDERING.
Still the best comics news of the month:
Yes you do. Keep the spoiler bars. We went over this before.
It's been a month man.Yes you do. Keep the spoiler bars. We went over this before.
In regards to the issue:
We just don't know all the details yet. I don't think they (they meaning Veidt/Manhattan) intentionally caused the rift.
OK...just read DC Rebirth.
Wally's back and is going to try to restore everyone's pre-Flashpoint memories. That's great but...the Watchmen were the sinister force behind it all?
Did we really? I thought the rules were no same day release spoilers.
The mod said be courteous for new releases. Rebirth isn't newWe really did. Month or no month it was explicitly clarified in here by a mod that everyone doesn't read everything day one. Be courteous and spoiler tag.
Link the post.He wants them tagged. Tag your conversations. There's not a whole lot to discuss. This thread isn't just for us, it for people who are lurking or looking for information as well. There's not a whole lot to mince when it comes to what is and is not acceptable.
Guy did the right thing by tagging that. Keep plot details tagged.
I have no problem tagging plot details and events that happen in a book.I always spoil tag when doing reviews and summaries ButI'll cover anything I'm asked to cover, but just for the sake of discussion, I don't think all spoilers are created equal.
If we're talking about a spoiler for something like Runaways, I don't think there's a time when you should stop covering spoilers for that. It was a small book, so plenty of people haven't read it, and it's fairly self-contained, so there's no real expectation that people would have picked up on the spoilers through other books.
But with something like Rebirth, it's the status quo for their entire line of superhero comics. Something that big is everywhere, to the point where it's going to come up in books that aren't Rebirth, and even to the point where people who don't read comics know it. Maybe we're still at the point where covering it is a good idea, but that isn't a long window. You can't hide the status quo for a universe.
OT says allow at least one week for unmarked spoilers, be courteous, and use common sense.the rules for spoilers have literally been the same for 3 years now, it's in the OP

Don't spoil the books i read and everything else is fair game, the way it should be.
Watch Independence Day Rebirth, it hasin it.aliens

Why is Slott black cat still a thing? When will Bendis admit Miles has electric powers?I love Spider-Man.
Love Bendis' running gag with a crazy in a police station shouting real world stuff, the latest referencing DC Rebirth
not sure why they released it last week. July 1st makes more sense
Yeeeaaaah agreed. It was fun tho. Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination. But it was dumb fun I enjoyed. Unlike Terminator 5, that was just dumb and grating.
rebirth is fair game according to the OT so meh.Exactly. The rules haven't changed. Its just good manners and honestly arguing against it is kind of lame.

Marvel is incentivized to get people used to the idea of legacies now that we're getting close to the point where they're going to start losing some of their core MCU actors.I agree. The second gen is something Marvel has lacked and the legacy with it. When I really dived into DC I loved that history of older, newer. While Marvel kept almost everyone in the same spot forever.
Brent Spiner was the best part of the movie though.
Goldblum is better.
Also, O MESSI WHAR ART THOU?

We covered this like, three times now. He's defected to FunkoGAF.
Hollywood keeps pushing Jai Courtney on us, and so far it's not working. We'll see how he is in Suicide Squad.Hory shit Terminator 5 was soo bad that it was good if that makes sense. Old Arnold rekting
Goldblum is better.

See what happens when you trash Overwatch too much?

I disagree. When Thor's brother accelerated in to space on the ship, Jeff's scream sounded sooooo fake.
The Bond thing doesn't work. Bond was never an actual character until Craig. You were never meant to be invested in him as a human being, and the movies barely had anything to do with one another. Bond killed and fucked and said fly lines, and nothing would have been different if you just randomly said his name was Todd now in one of the movies. They could Bond them though and don't give me "THE OTHER HEROES CAN REPLACE THEM"
Iron Man and Cap are too OP to take out.
A. Courtney will be saved by DC only to fuck it up by being in more trash
B. At least he's trying, dude acted more than Lesser Hems and Not Will Smith. Not Mae Whitman from It Follows should have been in Liams place.
Exactly. The rules haven't changed. Its just good manners and honestly arguing against it is kind of lame.
Sillymonkey reading comics? Have you finally given up Overwatch?

We know these Marvel characters so well now. They're like old friends. The movies have done a great job of getting you invested in the characters and their relationships and not just presenting them as fun sci-fi concepts. They've been so careful to shape this long-form saga that you break it if you randomly recast someone. If Cap and Thor share an emotional scene, and it's Chris Hemsworth, but it's not Chris Evans, it isn't going to ring true. They can tell you that's Steve Rogers, but you know something is wrong.
Well yeah. All the actors from the previous movie did way better jobs than the new ones. I just think that Brent Spiner out-acted(?) Jeff Goldblum.
Funkos are like amiibos, one is nice but if you keep going it's the plague.
I'm not concerned about the public, I'm concerned about me. I personally can't accept it if they make an Avengers movie and suddenly two of the core characters are played by different actors. We're like 13 movies deep in this saga, and I'm just going to look at that person as an impostor. The thing is the public has seen 4 people play Batman and 3 play Spider in the last 25 years. If you can carry the character to actor to actor, I think that'll work.
Yes you do. Keep the spoiler bars. We went over this before.

A big part of that is meta commentary. Johns is basically pointing the finger at Watchmen (as a symbol for the 80s deconstructionist movement) and saying that people's efforts to emulate that are what has hurt the superhero comics that have come since.
I know we were talking about Artgerm before. Here's a pic he did of Mei.
A-Mei-zing.
We must take this opportunity to praise Mei while Messi is absent.
