This idea that SW is going to bury fun books when it's literally the reason these books exist:

Deadpool secret secret wars
makes no sense at all. It's whole purpose is to make it more likely for those kinds of books to thrive. It's bringing Miles, the funnest Spider Man has been in years, into the mainline MU. And that's just one example. They're clearing the deck to make more room for Doreens and Kamalas and Silks. It's the whole point.

Huh, the first trade for Silk is collecting 7 issues. Marvel trades usually have 5 or 6 issues. What does this mean?
1. Silk is cancelled at 7 issues.
2. Silk will be cancelled at issue 12 since vol. 2 can collect the last 5 issues.

Read Annihilator #1-5 the other day. Man im loving it so far. Art is so damn good.
Also I picked up a random Graphic Novel at C2E2, Twisted Dark Volume 1
Its been great so far,, very dark short stories. Some not as dark, some that are just fucked up. Great art. Different artist throughout the book.

The previews book for Secret Wars is so hype the only thing in it that I'm not going to get is Ultimate End. Battle world is a must buy just for Frank the Punisher Supreme

Picked up SW#1 on a whim at the store. Not a Marvel reader.
I Was completely lost. Every panel seemed to feature a new character with little to no context. All I got out of it was "shit was going down".
I won't be rushing to get issue 2... but.. I may try and research what I can read up so it does make a little sense.
Thankfully I also picked up the first Ms. Marvel trade on a gaf recommendation and it's flipping awesome.

Secret Wars #1 was phenomenal. You guys were correct, I didn't need to know the full Avengers/New Avengers run to fall in love with it.
stole the whole book for me, my god.
Hickman is blowing up the entire Marvel universe just to clean up another Bendis mess. Bendis gonna Bendis.
It's fun and stays entertaining throughout. There was one or two issues with some rather, ummmm, questionable art work.
But the story stays interesting. I like it, but you have to factor in that I'm a biased Punisher fan. I'd say it's a consistent 6-7/10 book.

It's probably a good idea to read Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers first. What I've read so far has definitely been worth reading.

I'd rather finish it first to be honest. I've really enjoyed it.
Regarding that Joker Harley pic, I agree with Batfleck.
Because I can't think of any other form of entertainment that wouldn't throw a small bone to new consumers at the start of a series.

I suppose and it does look like that she done them herself. Personally I was just hoping that his tattoos were fake because they are so lazy but whatever it's hardly going to make or break his performance. I think I'm looking forward to Suicide Squad more than BvS at the moment.
