I really didn't like it. They spend the first act standing around in one place. They spend the next act standing around in a different place. Then the final bit is a really boring fight.

Peter does nothing the whole event, but supposedly shows himself to be some great leader.

The villains are dumb/uninteresting, with a load of crap about prophecies and scrolls.

I thought the SpOck Peter moments should've been way better too.

I thought it was a waste of an artist as good as Coipel even though he only did around 1/2 of the issues.

I can agree to this. Big flaws regarding Peter himself and the first act. I personally think SpOck made it readable. I enjoyed it for what it was.

Rhaknar, once you've read OMD make sure you read its incredible follow-up One Moment In Time.

OMIT was incredible wasn't it? I mean how can something with such strong cover art be bad?!

The Paolo Riveira sections were amazing. The one redeeming quality for me. Was not a fan of Quesada's art. His faces are strange and Peter always looks, like, fat or something.

The marriage not happening because of a fat guy landing on Peter is just incredible.

And then having everything happen as it did previously except they just weren't married!

Embrace the love of Anna Maria. She wants to be loved.

I like her from the little Ive seen her in Amazing, I guess shes a big part of Superior. I need to get on that at the very least

My first taste of modern-day comics

Don't really remember much besides the graphic spread of Peter's bloody and bruised face... Fucked me up considering my only prior history with ASM was Lee/Ditko.
I have the hardcover of it somewhere. Haven't read it since I was 12, lol. That second half of JMS run, post JRJR, is nowhere near as strong as the earlier stuff.

I don't think Spider-Man is at its best generally when it does these big events.

I think the only time I liked Joe Quesada's art was when I was in middle school and he was drawing X-Factor.

God OMIT was so bad. So so very bad.

How genius is that super power?

Superior Scarlet Spider. Somebody tweet that shit to Marvel and make it happen.
I'm not saying I would read it, buuuuuut....
With apologies for the crappy Marvel Unlimited image quality...

Spider-Man dropping Vision truth bombs. Wanda married a robot.

"I was helping with the aliens a second ago..." LMAO.
Why does everyone hate Peter so much?
pretty sure SOMEONE defended Ultimatum around here.
I defended certain moments, and will continue to defend those moments until I see fit otherwise.
I'll always love Grant Morrison's Identity Crisis review:
Well now I need to read it..
Land >>>>> Allred.
That's not a false opinion
Which anime are you going to discuss?
Cory_in_the_House_wallpaper.jpg

he made a deal with the devil and traded his marriage to MJ (and their future daughter) and everyone magically forgot his identity

i think he saved aunt mays life too
Even dumber when you put it that way
Still the greatest figure I've seen, and it included a rage cat. I finally put it back on the comic shelf after months of statue-superiority, figures are making a comeback.
Is that Dexstar? How come that isn't JUST a Dexstar figure?

The only part of Ultimatum that I like is the Spider-Man arc. The rest is pretty terrible, including the X-Men and FF minis.

They really should've let Bendis or Millar write the event. I'm not saying it would've been good, but if they wanted to do it they would've made more sense.

The post-Ultimatum Spider-Man relauch is really good too. I like Johnny and Bobby joining the cast.

How would you guys rank the regular USM artists? Would it be correct to say that Bagley is the worst (least good) out of all of them?

I wonder, do writers ever complain about having to work with Land? I doubt there are many who are actually fans of his art.

I've said this in the past, but remember that we are the exception and not the rule. People love Land and Marvel loves him because he meets and exceeds deadlines.

Hoorah! The (at least for now) end of my IST chain has occurred.

Finished off Waid FF and the Miller DD collections (+Born Again), grabbed the first of Bendis DD, Got Transformers MTMTE and what was RiD 7, and it turned out TMNT Classics 10 came out, so I added that too!

Also, my order which was some Batman/Justice League Beyond, the Young Avengers by Gillen Omnibus, Loki Agent of ASGARD 2, and the Dial H hardcover, should come in tomorrow.

Yay, comics!

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. But I can't think of many other artists who make comics completely unreadable for me. I'd be surprised if privately a lot of writers didn't feel similarly even if they accept working with him.

I found this Land variant of Secret Wars 1. It's like a museum of every Land-ism ever.

I think I can already spot 2 porn traces.

Spider Gwen. Who's the other?
