I take Bendis all day over Remender at his current slump.
I think both of them have their strengths. I can't think of a single writer that doesn't have one poor storyline or arc. I feel like everyone goes through a bad period or writes a certain character that doesn't mesh well with their style of storytelling.

All this talk of Remender caused me to remember that I wanted to buy all the trades of his Uncanny X-Force... which I then did.

I think I might have a problem with buying comics that I've already bought.

It was wacky. But it was also one of those stories told in reverse, where suddenly they're in space, and Clayface is there pulling a Groot, and a bunch of other people and we don't know what's going on and AAAAHHHHHHH. This issue will have the events leading up to the space hijinks. I hope.

Be honest. It was shit and didn't fit Batwoman at all.

What's his costume look like?

There's also a story, collected in the first Don Rosa Library from Fantagraphics Books, where Donald tries to outsmart his nephews by showing them whacky looking animals, which turn out to be actual mythological creatures. Going insane from being unable to outsmart the kids, Donald eventually gathers many objects and paints and attempts to create the most bizarre animal using an enraged horse. The end result is a rainbow vomit of an animal with various animal skins and body parts, that is drawn in such detail it is amazing, it must be seen to believed.

That box set is definitely going to be in my next IST order. I hope future volumes also include the Life and Times.

Finished reading the book today morning, and it stayed brilliant through to the end. One of the best books I have read this year (A year where I read Doom Patrol and Blacksad for the first time).

The last page is beautiful.

Don Rosa is the best Disney artist ever.

The art I've seen around the internet is one of the main reasons I started reading the book. But after reading it, I've also realised he is a great writer. Some of the scenes are incredibly heartfelt (
The death scenes of his parents were so well done
) and I loved the way he made a comparatively short book feel so large in scale.

Was it the crime fiction or the furries that got you hooked? Further suggestions will depend on the answer to this question.

Lol, the crime stuff. I'm a big Brubaker Fan.

Gotham Central is pretty good.

If you want something with a good mystery set in a fictional history, there's Rex Mundi. It is collected in 2 TPBs IIRC.

I've got Gotham Central. I'll keep an eye out for Rex mundi.

Have you read Y The Last Man? Stellar stuff.

Read the trades and loved it. Probably going to get the absolutes. When they start next year.

Haha, no. That was the only image of the last page I could find online.
Lol I got all giddy about someone else understanding the language.

Godly, Goily Hijinx B&N Order

Thor: God of Thunder - The God Butcher
Fearless Defenders - Doom Maidens
Wonder Woman - Blood

Just in case I finish Watchmen before Friday.
Fearless Defenders!!! Yes!! Such a great and underrated series IMO. I know some people have qualms about Bunn, but I absolutely, positively loved Fearless Defenders.

Also, Rafa hates Tom Taylor.

The issue was mediocre. Not a good jumping on point for new people, especially of you're not reading Axis or current events, but the reveal at the end was good. And the book itself did give me a few laughs.

Understatement of the year! Rafa straight up despises Taylor's writing.

OK, thanks. I hope Convergence is collected as an Omnibus later, the whole things sound pretty interesing.

Doesn't DC do that with everything, though? Even if it's nonsensical? They did it with all of the New 52 #1s, all of the Zero-Month issues, etc. etc. When are we getting dat Villain's Month omnibus, DC?

I haven't read any of his Star Wars stuff, and have only stuck to his Earth 2 and Injustice comics, but I've found them more than enjoyable. Injustice especially, is amazing considering its based off a video game and is a weekly comic! :O

So I was looking through the thread and found nothing regarding Tom Brevoort's interview about Time Runs Out and Avengers World.
He reveals the cover of New Avengers #30 and also says that Xavier was to play a part in Secret Wars but they made changes because he was killed off in AvX. Tom also reveals that there were hints in Hickman's Fantastic Four run regarding Secret Wars, and that it is the Beyonder, not Maximus, that is on the cover of New Avengers #29.
Full interview here.

Gimmick Month is always collected as an Omnibus. Other stuff is very hand picked.
I can only remember stuff like Flash Silver Age, Superman Golden Age and Neal Adams Batman, DC 100.000 and Death of Superman.
Their Omnibus line is not that big.

That came out in December last year, with 3D cover and everything:

I didn't even realize. Or maybe I just ignored it.

I don't really consider the pre-New52 stuff to be part of the silliness. It's a no-brainer to collect some things in an omnibus format. But a bunch of #1s and things that don't tie-in directly to one another? Seems like a cash-grab.

He also says they are going to address the death of the Living Tribunal, which had seemed they had swept under the rug.

And I hope Hickman retcons the hell out of Bendis' "Beyonder is an inhuman mutant" garbage.

Let's be honest, a big part of the New 52 relaunch was it being a cash-grab.

Not that I don't like the New 52, far from it.

Wait. What is the fearless defenders thing? How have I never heard of them? Is this more Legion shit?

.....Really? It was a series about an all-female superhero team lead by Valkyrie that Marvel put out a while back. It was pretty fun, only lasted for two arcs, though. Other team members included Misty, Dani Moonstar, and Hippolyta. Also some archaeologist chick that was totally into Valkyrie.

Is it something I might enjoy?
