Yeah that's what I mean, Robbi's said some terrible shit but Cho keeping this going through art still makes him look worse.

I dunno man, you work real hard to try and make a character design that's not the all too usual super gross sexually exploitative lady swimsuit, you see that character build itself an audience that's big enough to support an ongoing title, and which is probably containing many women who, seeing comics that treat them as human beings and not disposable sex dolls on a fast track from "hero's girlfriend" to "dead in a refrigerator", get into the funnybooks for what's possibly the first time, and then some old asshole shows up and says "HEY BUT WHAT ABOUT US DUDES AND OUR RIGHT TO STARE AT THE BAPS BECAUSE REALLY THAT'S ALL THE LADIES ARE GOOD FOR, THE BAPS HEH", I'd feel pretty miffed.

the fact that Cho is using Spider-Gwen as a mascot for "annoying internet SJWs" in the way that he is just gross and incredibly insulting to the strides the industry has made in the last few years in welcoming women.

He is making fun of peole who get outraged over stupid things instead of getting mad about things that matter.

How Bendis has a job when he wrote probably the biggest misogynist saga in Disassembled and House of M of saying here is a daddy's girl who can't handle power.

Or Edmonson or Wood or whoever the unnamed other sexual harasser is.

Robbi always seemed humble when he was doing Velocity. Ever since he switched to Spider Gwen he's been weird about a lot of shit lately. Dude, no matter what never pull an Itagaki when trying to express your creation.

Because he wrote Alias, which remains a very solid take on female characters in the marvel universe and works on several meta levels.

But here's the thing: it does matter. That's how Cho and countless others in or around the comics industry see women. It's not happening in a vacuum, it's a very deliberate push back to the idea that women are, and should exist in fiction as, more than just a pair of jubblies to satisfy the men.

Choosing to hammer on Spider-Gwen with the regularity he has is an attack against the idea the industry needs to be better with women. You mention Wood and Edmondson, and yeah, they're fucking trash goblins, but, so is Cho. It's all the same face of the same shitty coin.

But nowhere near what Woods and Edmondson has done.

Marvel is just pandering to what they see as potential buyers without making any real change. Still few minority writers, hell they put Edmonson who is a known right wing racist on a book whose star is a Native America.

In other words, Marvel is just playing SJWs like a fiddle.

Not sure I'd put sexual harrassment and drawing suggestive pictures of women in the face of criticism on the same coin. You can argue that he's attacking the idea of women in fiction all you like but in reality all he's doing is the same thing he has been for nigh on 20 years but now he's fucking around with those who criticize him at the same time.

Complaining about him being an immature attention seeker all the while giving him more attention is a fruitless labor. Though i guess when comic trashbloids like Bleeding Cool report on this you are never going to win in that regard.

That tweet Messi quoted is almost six months old, and it's probably the last time people gave that much of a fuck. He's done at least a half-dozen of these between then and now, prompted by nothing but perceived slights from people who have mostly forgotten about him.

People stopped commenting about it because Cho has been doing that for a long time and now its becoming a thing again because Rodriquez made a nonsensical comment about how Cho is only relevant because of him.
