Batman as a team leader is a bad?

Has Justice League International taught you nothing?

It's fine. But.

Batman is already featured in four terrific books. It would be hard to compete with how they're utilizing him in Detective. So this book might be better off if he's in some sort of background role.

On the other hand, I have seen this approach before and never really enjoyed it, I don't think? I think it's hard to do with Batman who is by his nature a very active character. It's hard to justify keeping him out of the fight.

And I do think it's kind of cynical. I mean, I get it. But let's not pretend he's on the team because they thought up a really cool way to include him. That came after they decided this book needs Batman to stand a chance.

Five books actually.

Man, I totally forgot about that Diamond Select Spider-Gwen statue I ordered. It just showed up today out of the blue. It's going back, though. The paintjob is awful. Gwen looks like a porn star with too much makeup.

JLA looks cool to me because it's a team of lesser known and diverse heroes, but of course they had to throw Batverine in for his fourth team(if you count Trinity) and give him the big overarching spot on the cover. I'm guessing DC isn't confident in the team lineup so they just threw Batman in.

Honestly, I have trouble getting upset over it. Batman saturation is a thing, but the Batman fanbase is a bigger one. Besides, like people've said, there's a strong history of this sort of thing. JLI was stronger for including him, this could very well be an update of that.

Using an A-Lister to lead a team book isn't even exclusive to Batman and DC. Let's not forget about how Marvel relaunched Mighty Avengers as Captain America AND the Mighty Avengers not so long ago. Feels like a very weird thing to have issues with.

Next three Suicide Squad backup stories announced by Khouri:

The next three SUICIDE SQUAD backup stories will be drawn by Carlos D'Anda, Christian Ward and Giuseppe Camuncoli!

I don't have any issue with it conceptually but I think it's a difficult time to compete with this character. I'm interested to see if they can make it stand out.

"I will lead the investigation from Earth with Black Canary. Vixen and Ray, you'll lead the away team. Good luck in the Microverse or whatever Atom called it. Don't let Lobo kill innocent beings. Watch out for crazy clowns. Batman out." is what I'm guessing they'll do. Bruce and Dinah can't leave the world for long without it affecting their other books unless they're going for another "team books take place months after the other books" like with JL before Rebirth.

It's uninspired in both cases. It's a weird thing to have issue with Batman being pulled into another book when other great characters sit on the shelf?

Which is why I called him "Batverine" lol. I think it's a smart and obvious idea from a business standpoint.

Is Parsons actually on it or are they just presenting?

Yeah that silly book with vampires living in high society in a fortified New York City. Does the hardcover contain all the issues?

So long as "all the issues" means the three trade paperbacks, then yes. It includes Empire of the Dead Act One #1-5, Act Two: #1-5, and Act Three: #1-5.

New Monsters Unleashed creatures:

Creators are in order: Greg Land, Leinil Yu, Adam Kubert, Art Adams, Salvador Larroca, Steve McNiven.

Okay, why introduce more monsters? They already got a stacked deck of them already? Unless these are the monsters who'll start the series proper?

Marvel wanted certain artists working on the book to each come up with a new monster to go along with the old ones.

Some forum I went to had a list of upcoming OHCs and Omnis for Marvel. When was Black Panther confirmed to be getting one in June? If true I'll likely drop the book and get that.
