Is anybody else watching Gotham? What the shit is going on in this show?

Basically, this:

Though tonight's episode was better than the pilot.

They'll probably release this version in a deluxe edition or two down the line if you can wait for that.

There will be no waiting :D Gonna get Batman Inc for Christmas and I just ordered Absolute Batman and Robin myself so I'll have a nice set. I just need RIP in Absolute now and I'll be happy. Will go nicely on my 'retardo big books shelf' along with All Star Superman and New Frontier.

Dude seriously. My wife asked me if I was going to watch that show last night and was totally not prepared for the ten minutes of Bat-talk that followed.

It did bring up a good point as to how broken New 52 Batman is - if Nightwing is about 25 (judging by the way he's drawn), then does that mean he was 22 when he was Robin? Even if he's 20 now (bullshit), then he would have been 17 as Robin, going by the 5 year Bat-timeline and the idea that Brice would be solo for a year or two.

Anyway. Morning!

So this just happened:

The sale includes the following series/issues:
Earth 2 issues 1-20 and Annuals 1-2
Worlds' Finest issues 1-25 and Annual 1
JSA (1999) issues 1-87

Are the JSA issues on sale, part of the JSA omnibus that was released not long ago? If so, I'm awfully tempted to buy the complete run. I've heard nothing but good things about the omnibus in this thread, but the cost has been holding me back.

Stop Earth 2 where Robinson leaves. That annual is one of the worst, most sterile, lifeless, myopic, amateurish, unimaginative stories I have ever read.

I already own/have read Tom Taylor's issues of Earth 2. I have honestly enjoyed the change of pace. I respect your opinion, as I am sure there are many who agree with you, but I disagree completely with your reading of the Annual. The focus on a new Batman did not leave the greatest impression on me at first, but Tom Taylor's character work was impressive. The Annual served its purposed and established this new Batman and his standing in the greater world. In fact, I thought it was a fantastic origin story.

Yup! Buy away. It'll be cheaper through this sale then the omnibuses. There's 9 issues near the end that aren't Johns that you can skip.

And when you're done with that look into the follow on series by Johns called Justice Society of America for another 20 issues

Has anyone tried reading comics on a iPhone 6+? Any impressions? I have a iPhone 5s and it's too small for me, maybe the bigger screen might make it better.

Is the Marvel 70th Anniversary Magazin worth a read? I cant get it for free like most of you, but I am interested and could buy it for a couple of bucks...

Bleeding Cool is reporting their sources within Marvel say that a GotG spinoff comic is on the way starring Gamora and written by Nicole Perlman (GotH movie screenwriter). Grain of salt and all, but they say to expect a reveal at NYCC.

Omg, I read the God Hates Astronauts hardcover that I bought at the con last night and laughed so hard. I don't think I have laughed out loud to a book like that ever!

Wow, just read on Tom Breevorts Tumblr that Quesada really wanted to bring Gwen back... Dude is really Peters worst Supervillains.

At least Gwen's mentioned sometimes. Karen Page on the other hand... if I ever write for Marvel, my goal is to remove any traces of Guardian Devil ever happening.

I am okay with this. If it gives her room to actually develop Gamora as a character, then all the power to her.

Joe Quinones is taking his sketch list for NYCC tomorrow...I went from 9 days to continue mulling over this decision to one!

Good call, yo. Now I need to figure out what I'd want him to draw and whether he's read Doom Patrol.

Oh man. Getting a Doom Patrol commission is the best idea.

Totally, but I'm always worried that the artist hasn't heard of it; doesn't like it; or doesn't give a shit about the book. And I really don't want to be the 4-millionth person to get a Death from Sandman sketch...

I'd want somebody who actually loved the book to draw me up something dope.

Yeah, definitely. The person drawing it would really have to know the personalities of the characters to draw them well.

Is that a popular sketch request? Seems odd.
