It's a blessing and a curse.
I'm so excited for this.
I just wish it had come out before I saw Burnham yesterday at Long Beach Comic Con so I could get it signed. I was like "You're one of my all time favorite artists!" and I didn't even have anything for him to sign. I was really hoping to find a copy of Officer Downe at one of the shops, but didn't have any luck (which wasn't really a surprise).
Anyone have a particularly good trick for getting sticker residue crap off of covers? The out of print manga I managed to grab for cheap turned out to be a former library book. I've removed most of the evidence (though there's no helping the "no longer property of the Seattle Public library stamp, and a bit of the cover seems to have somehow laminated or something, which is weird but not a huge deal), but the gross sticker residue remains on the side. If nobody has any experience I guess I'll just keep dealing with it bit by bit with my fingers. Still, saved like $40 and it's in great shape so I can't complain.

I believe in that tweet thread he said all of the new pages replacing fill-ins are from issues 6-10. Not sure offhand how the original volumes were collected.

Does anyone buy back issues online? I've been trying ebay, and that has been the absolute worst experience ever. Unless it's professionally graded, they will straight up lie in the description of condition. I just got something described as NM and it looked like it had been dug out of a dumpster...

They are unbelievably accurate.
Ive had good experience getting some cheap deal on ebay filling holes in some runs. Never had something come in worse than described. Maybe bad luck.

Yeah, I always seem to have bad luck with ebay. Some have been OK, but when I see someone give a very specific grade and mention grading for XX years, I expect them to know what they're talking about
Sounds good. I'd resorted to buying only CGC stuff for the run I was looking at, but that gets way too pricey
OK folks, I have a little exercise I'd like to try out if someone doesn't mind lending me a few minutes worth of help. Basically, I'm looking for a penciled and fully inked page (or cover/extra large panel) that has yet to be colored so I can try my hand at coloring it. I'd prefer that there is a colored image out there that I could check out AFTER I've completely colored it so I can compare. The inked/non-colored page needs to be a large enough for me to work with in Photoshop without getting frustrated.

I read all of Velvet Vol 1 today. Oh My God this fucking book. It is just sensational Brubaker is nailing it as usual. He is on top of his game but that should come as a shock to anyone here. Epting, my goodness his art is just perfect for the tone of the book. Multiple times I stopped just to look over panels and admire his work.
Velvet is such a badass. She is smart, stylish and sexy. I just love her.
Was it Kipp or Zombine that was going crazy over this book a few months back? I get it now. I can't wait to read the other 2 issues I have on my ipad. I can see this book easily being a contender for book of the year. I really wish more people were reading this.

Love Velvet. Brubaker does some amazing work with crime / spy fiction. I think Fatale was an experiment on his part, throwing the paranormal spin on things. Not my favorite Brubaker work, for sure. Velvet.... just might be.

I think the Thor logo looks badass. If they're not going to keep the Simonson-era one, this is the next best thing.

look at how poorly built in illustrator the "R" is.
any typeface that has that wide a bar in a "T" would never have such little space between the hole in an "R" and the top of the letter
just the most amateur bush league garbage i've ever seen

I love Velvet. I've always had a soft spot for spy fiction especially one with a leading lady.
It was Zombine, but I'm all over this book once the OHC comes out.
...I still need to read my two Criminal OHCs.
My comics reading has been heavily disturbed recently. And just as I thought I was gonna get some time to actually read today, I got super sick and now I'm much too miserable and my head is way too foggy to read anything.
It's not hard to spend more than $0.
Although, in addition to the money for the ticket, I did put down $10 for the parking. Does that count?

Edit: On a completely separate note, who here is excited to see what other sales IST does for the "Thank you for being so patient and understanding during our move" sale?
This week it's just more Deals of the Week, but I'm hoping the "More sales to come!!" means some big publisher sales or something as well. But it'll probably just be more double Deals of the Week. Which I can't really complain about.

Yeap, sounds like you went to a convention.
Haha. Unfortunately it had started the day before I went to the convention (and a sore throat for a couple days before that). I lucked out that I didn't feel as awful yesterday as I do today. I was a tiny bit out of it yesterday, but not enough to prevent me from really enjoying it.
