Confirmed: The next Nintendo Direct will take place tomorrow, the company has announced.

The last two Directs were actually pretty darn solid, so here's hoping for some good stuff.

Just some stuff I'm hoping for besides the obvious: more info/releasedate for Front Mission Remake & Panzer Dragoon Zwei, possibly Xeno X and Yoshi's Wooly World ports, new Fire Emblem, new Donkey Kong (3D maybe?) and some new surprise/IP no one sees coming. Bonus would be a new Wave Race or 1080 or so but I've given up hope on those a long time ago.

Hope it's not remasters/ports only. They should at least show the new Fire Emblem which is guaranteed to exist at this point and maybe another new game for late 2023, a new IP would be nice we haven't had one of these since 2019. And of course the full BotW2 reveal.

Finally, can’t wait! New BotW2 info, please.
I think this is exactly why they've waited so long to put out this Direct. If they'd announced a full general Direct for June, everyone would've been expecting BotW 2. Tomorrow's going to be a big day for us!

i dont really mind the wait for BOTW2. let them take their time with it. all i want is a title reveal and a new trailer. maybe some gameplay.

It's definitely not delayed, at least not yet. They wouldnt announce a delay in the Direct, they would've gotten ahead of it prior to get the bad news out of the way. I think they just didn't see the point in showing off too much of the game so early, since people want to be surprised when they play it. I think a brief overview trailer without spoilers tomorrow, along with the final name. And then we don't see it again til January when they start the marketing machine up.

I’d love to have some more ports from the Wii U. I personally stopped buying games when I realized the platform was going to die so I’ve missed out on the Zelda ww and tp remakes and xenoblade chronicles x. I just hope Nintendo outsources that kind of stuff so that they can focus on fresh games.

I’d also love to see a lot of the old Zelda games redone similar to how they did links awakening. Redoing the original nes games would be great. Still some of my favorites to revisit.

On fresh games, not really sure what to expect. Would love to see a proper reveal for prime 4 and more info on botw 2. Would enjoy another proper fire emblem game. Maybe a surprise from the crew that did triangle strategy. More info on bayonetta 3. More info on xenoblade 3 expansion pass. A new pikmin has been rumored for years. Donkey Kong has been dormant for a while as has 3D and 2D Mario platformers (though the 2D does have Mario maker).

It's all about what people perceive the value of it as, man. Wind Waker HD or a full remake of Metroid Prime 1 would definitely sell as full premium retail products.
As much as I hate to encourage shitty low effort ports from Nintendo, I would love a Metroid Prime 1 remake. It'd have to be a full remake though, just keeping source materials to deal with all the changes that have happened since the original was created.

Knowing Nintendo ,it'd be another asleep at the wheel remaster.

Some day we will get Woolly World and XCX. Some day. I believe!

We’ll see. My rule for Nintendo Direct is to expect the worst and hope for the best. Wish I had a dollar for every time Nintendo fans worked themselves into a hype frenzy only to be left despondent afterward.
Well I didn't think wishing for KH ports for 5 years would be such a monkey's paw. -_-

They put out new content for Mario 3D World. I do wonder what they're planning to sweeten the deal this time. Dual pack? New content? Nothing?

Guess we'll see.
They’ll pull a Mario 3D All Stars/SM3D World hybrid.
Twilight Princess + Wind Waker uprezzed to 1080p-ish + Oracle remakes in the Link’s Awakening engine.
Available until March 31st, 2023. €99.90.

I wonder how many people they’ll rob with Metroid Prime trilogy? With them staggering the releases I could see them releasing each one for $60

Time to get some predictions in. My expectation is that this direct will focus almost entirely on the current fiscal year (so projects for the next fiscal year like Donkey Kong and Kid Icarus remaster will be saved for the early 2023 Direct). Having said that they will show some games coming after March 2023. Let's see how many if these come true:

First party

  • BOTW2 trailer and title reveal
  • Bayonetta 3 trailer
  • Fire Emblem: Pepsi Hair
  • Octopath Traveller 2
  • Bluepoint style remake of Metroid Prime
  • WW/TP ports
  • F Zero GX HD
  • GB on NSO (maybe GBA and GameCube too)
  • Switch Sports Golf update
  • Mario Kart 8 DX DLC

Third party
  • Fatal Frame 4
  • It Takes Two
  • Mario Vs. Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
  • Panza Dragoon Zwei remake
  • Atelier Ryza 3
  • Something to do with Castlevania
  • Batman collection
  • Dragon Quest Treasures
  • Harvestella
  • Super Bomberman R 2
  • Front Mission remake delay
  • Sport story
  • Sonic of the Wild
  • Sizzle real (Nier, Persona titles, Mega Man Battle Network collection etc. etc.)

Give me some Xenoblade 4 news, please.
Also, a Xenoblade Chronicles X port.

We'll see. I never thought Nintendo would say the words "Advance Wars" ever again but then they did a 1+2 remake.

From the rumblings going around, Nintendo wants to bring all their major franchises to the Switch in some form or another (whether that's a sequel, remaster or remake).
