No ceilings... Seriously?I like Weezy.
But his rock album was garbage.
But I seriously hope he's ok, No Ceilings is probably my favorite mixtape all time.
It was Mobb Deep sonWith this talk of Pac and Biggie... You know what? I've come around, and now I think Biggie INDEED set up Pac to get robbed in the lobby. It's just too obvious. Or at best, he knew he was going to get jumped, and didn't get involved.
ITT: We talk about Tupac and Jay-Z while Weezy possibly lays on his deathbed.
Only God Can Judge Me? Tradin War Stories? Letter 2 My Unborn Child? All Eyez On Me? Hail Mary? Keep Ya Head Up?
No one is saying Pac was Nas on the mic with the bars, but to say he sucked is just wrong. Lyrically Pac was more poetic and a better writer overall than nearly any traditional "witty" rapper.

2Pac was even better at dying than Lil Wayne.
I'm just gonna listen to I feel like dying on repeat
Thread went to shit once there stopped being actual news from both sides.*reads the last couple of pages*
Huh?
I say bars, cats list a bunch of songs. Oh ok. #GJGE
No ceilings... Seriously?
It's possible that he hasn't listened to many mixtapes.
No ceilings... Seriously?
Not to be insensitive, but had Wayne died like 4 or 5 years ago, this generation of kids would probably look at him as their 2Pac or Biggie right now.

Go listen to the Carter 1 and 2- and as far as mixtapes, the drought and the dedication.I'll be honest I'm not like super into rap and I mostly just listen to mainstream albums usually.
I admit he has fallen way off but I really liked his old stuff.
I'm open to other mixtape suggestions if people want to give them to me.
But to me No Ceilings is my favorite mixtape so far.
It's not that he was on the level of those guys, but he was popular enough to become incredibly overrated had he died in his prime.Wrong .... completely wrong. Maybe you would be right if a certain % of fans had no idea of how to tell decent shit from legendary shit.
Then again, maybe you are right. And that would be scary shit to think Wayne is on Pac or Biggie level.
even if he dies nowthey still will.
in rap, death instantly puts you to GOAT status.
oh my god please stopI can't stand Lil Wayne. Question-why should we care about a rapper that's in a hospital? What good has he done to society to warrant such news?

Yup. But it would've been insane had it been just a few years ago.
Anyway, good luck Weezy.
He's right. In fact, if he dies they will still probably exalt him to a level he never deserved. But that's what happens when celebrities die young.
I don't wish death on Lil Wayne. I've never liked him or his influence on hip hop, but that's no reason to wish a person was dead.
If he does die, however, he's going to be immortalized.
No. I'm questioning why we as a society should care if Lil Wayne was in the hospital. Are you questioning the existence of the thread?

People seem to ask this every time a celebrity is in poor health or has died, but some people out there simply care a lot about entertainers they love. Might seem silly to you and I, but it is what it is.I can't stand Lil Wayne. Question-why should we care about a rapper that's in a hospital? What good has he done to society to warrant such news?

Because a large amount of society seems to like him (or his music) and he has some influence and whatever he does will make news. Whether you like it or not, it is what it is. I don't know why you're actually asking this question. Fame = some relevance news-wise.No. I'm questioning why we as a society should care if Lil Wayne was in the hospital.

And I don't like Wayne much either, but he is pretty damn popular.
Fair enough. And Riggs-I don't give a fuck if you like me or not. I didn't come to this website looking to make friends or notLots of people enjoy his music and would be saddened to hear that the man who created it died. He is a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, so of course sites/threads dedicated to entertainment news are going to make a big deal out of the fact that he may be on his death bed.
Would you not want people to report that Daniel Craig was on his death bed if that was the case?
On a board where tragic deaths are fodder for shitty puns, I think this is a fair question.
