from the CNN article:

"Drake appeared at the Los Angeles hospital, where Lil Wayne is being treated, with an entourage of Wayne's friends. They pulled up chairs in the hallway near his room and set up a vigil."

Do you setup an impromptu vigil outside a hospital room if someone is sitting up and watching basketball? I've never been in that situation.

They're sensationalist, they throw shit at a wall and see what sticks.

They may be but they're almost always correct too, as far as I remember. They have sources literally everywhere

They've broken the biggest celebrity news of the last 5 years before the big sities even report them. In fact, the big sites like CNN monitor TMZ for big celebrity news coverage.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, they got sources alright. But they are no doubt sensationalist.

I hope he pulls through but... damn.

Im still just fascinated on how this is all unfolding. (Obviously keeping in perspective there is a life at stake)

Not a fan but I just think it's sad that he or his "team" can't just be honest about what's going on. Celeberities are so happy to use social media to describe the most minute details of their blessed life but as soon as it becomes real they don't want to be honest with people who care about them.

Is it a private manner? Probably, but when your day to day life is self publicized I think you owe it to your fans to let them in.

Have to keep in mind that his "team" depend on his success so if/when he passes, so do the coat tails they're riding.

Yep. The publicist was lying, Mack Maine & Baby were lying, who in the fuck did the tweet?

...it's really sad when you think about how these people unashamedly took advantage of him.

It's just like last year, when they were saying he had seizures due to migraines. No, it's called drug withdrawal.

Wtf Wayne? You're a grown ass man. Cut out the lean smoke some weed like a regular person

Hope he recovers because I don't want him to die and have all the little kids proclaim him GOAT

what an unusual story, and accompanying thread.

It would have been a very boring story if not for the journalistic histrionics.

If it had been reported as "Lil Wayne has drug overdose, recovering in hospital" from the beginning, I'm quite confident this thread would be no more than half its current size.

Maybe

But I feel like that vigil comment from the CNN report might give the tmz report a bit more credibility.

If anything, Wayne's friends seem to have made it worse by denying everything from the beginning and seemingly staging that twitter post.

We don't know if he's going to be okay though. There are conflicting reports and TMZ is usually right. The second these stories came out, someone in Wayne's camp used his Twitter account to send a message from him. People are pretty sure that wasn't him that posted it.
