I ran the test 4 times twice on each stick with the 2000/4000 options but only kept one result for each stick because I couldn't remember which was which.

The text above is just the last result if the link doesn't show properly.

Sorry for the late reply!
So as I have feared 100/125Hz cap.

I guess I will scratch my 360 itch with that Retro Fighters Hunter 360.

Edit: Too bad it's sold out. And I seem to have retailers selling Retro Fighters controllers in my country but only one that shows up is regular Hunter controller.

Just got my Cyclone 2 in, wow. I'll probably buy cyclone 3 cause it looks like my T4 kaleid, but I'm starting to think Cyclone 2 looks better. I mainly bought it for the hair triggers, but I hate how it feels. I'm probably not going use it even if it gives me a competitive advantage. I love how everything else feels though.

Factory reset option?

Oh, there isn't any in manual but there should be one. I once bricked my Pro 2 controller by going backwards in firmware updates since I read some firmware had better polling rate or smth, lmao, which did brick it and I could do just that - factory reset it to wake up. And reinstall the firmware in manual option mode in 8Bitdo software by clicking the 3 lines in upper left corner and choose "manual installation" or smth like this.

AI search features in search.brave.com to the rescue:

Do that, reinstall the firmware (you should be able to reinstall it I think although I don't have it now and Xbox app was a bit different I think than regular 8Bitdo app). And tell us if it's fixed.

Edit: Tagging @Astray since he has the same controller and this could be useful to him 👋.
Edit2: If you can't reinstall the firmware but you can go backwards just drop just ONE version below, so you won't brick it like I did with mine Pro 2 lmao, it will save you the headaches. Ah, the horrors I went through to unbrick it, I didn't know about hidden manual option under 3 dots in upper left corner took a lot of googling to find this one... This option honestly shouldn't be so hidden, I felt dumb after discovering it.

the AI is talking complete nonsense (which is not surprising)
and I am not sure if you can go back to older firmwares on it either.

but also, I doubt it's a firmware issue.
I hadn't touched the firmware for months, this issue literally just appeared out of nowhere mid gameplay.
and then the next day there was a new firmware update I installed, that didn't fix it.

I might have to send it in if there's no way to factory reset the controller (if that would even help of course)

Try this it may be similar. Maybe AI missed a button?

Safest option would be to email 8Bitdo support, and maybe they will share the specific combination for this model.

If not, just send it in.

the AI missed R1.

I'll try that method and see if it works on the Xbox version of the controller.

edit: yeah, that reset doesn't work on the Xbox controller

I really do hope so but with a controller like this Valve is competing more with the fancy pro controllers than the basic ones. Then again there are lots of decent sub-$100 controllers like the 8BitDos and GameSirs.

I just think given how Valve has been the only one that hasn't raised the price of their device (Steam Deck), they would try to be aggressive with this too. Especially if they want it to sell more than the original, and it helps sell more PC games that don't work well on a normal game-pad.

It could be more than a standard Xbox or Playstation controller, but I don't see them pushing over $100 if they want this to have any kind of market penetration. Same with the Steam Machine, if they price it under $600 they're in a good spot, but I suspect them not showing the prices yet is because they're unsure of the economic factors in the world right now.

Void has released pretty impressive DualShock 4.

It's some Japanese brand I haven't heard about, hmm.

Ended up seeing the Wuchang version of the G7 Pro hit Amazon, and decided to try it out. (phone picture came a little blown out, sorry)

Impressions
I wasn't sure how good the actual paint-job was going to be in person, but it looks quite nice. Instead of the dot textured plastic like the Black Ember model on the right front, the Wuchang feathers aren't just painted, they are embossed to actually be the textured pattern on the front for grip. Basically you get this kind of scaled feel than little bumps, and it grips well (the back is rubber like the Xbox Elite). I like the turquoise color choice quite a bit, though I wish it was transparent on the triggers like the Black Ember.

The main reason though I got this was to validate if the internet was right, and the Mech White + Wuchang version of this controller improved the d-pad, since the Black Ember apparently got rushed to production. Apparently this d-pad has better latency, and rattles less. I tried a few games, and it's hard for me to notice if the latency is really improved, both feel responsive to me. However, the d-pad is absolutely more stable, and after popping off the d-pad covers on both I think I found out why. The plate below the switches seems to have less flex, and the 4 holes you can see in the picture (below) that each plate have rods to fit into are slightly smaller. So the d-pad plates fit more snugly in, so brushing my finger around doesn't move it much.

For me it's worth the upgrade, but then I tried ONE more thing, that I 100% recommend on this because it cost nothing on Amazon for me to do. I heard that you can attach o-rings (you can see them above, they're black) around those 4 white holes where the rods connect, and it will further reduce that rattle + make it a bit firmer. It absolutely works, and I think it's because the rubber is flexible, but absorbs some of the play when bending the plate to do sweep movements in fighting games like Blazblue: Chronophantasm Extend that I tried. Even the Black Ember improved, so if you have that one 150% do this.

All you need to do is place 2 o-rings around the holes, and with a pencil, tweezers or any thin pointy thing stuff them down to fill up the hole. You can try 3 if you want, but people on reddit were right 2 each hole is best. I found a pack of 50 of these for like $5 on Amazon. Already loved the controller, this seals the deal for me to pick over the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.

The measurements you want:
  • 6mm outer diameter (OD)
  • 4mm inner diameter (ID)
  • 1mm width

Found the review channel of the person that uploaded FireBird results on gamepadla.com

Use audio dub or YT auto subtitle translation options since he is Japanese.

Lots of data. Like the dude shares stuff he measured with Prometeus and talks about it in length.

Since G7 Pro is hot right now. It will be pretty relevant for Durin Durin

He shares his controller settings. I knew something was a bit off, there is low sensitivity in Y axis. Looks like something they could improve in software updates.

Apparently one can get used to it but I am jumping controllers like crazy.

Yesterday I used ES Pro, Super Nova and G7 Pro. And I can notice it.

I'm gonna try his settings to make sticks more linear. Maybe instead of getting used to it, I will just get rid of it with his settings.
