Exactly! But the sad thing is that, here in Brazil, many people - including coaches and part of the media - supports that kind of behavior from the players. They say that "diving" and "trying to trick the referee" is part of the game. It's absurd, of course. At least, in my opinion.
The solution, I think, is as you said: a tough approach against it. Once red cards starts flowing, things may change.
