Neogaf is already better than any website or mag. People post the content they r interested in an and a lot of times its faster than the news sites get.

There are a ton of talented GAFers who accomplish great things in terms of art, videos, and writing. Under ideal circumstances, I think you could pool those talents to make a really impressive website, yeah.

The problem is just the practicality of it all. Even if a lot of people are producing stellar content, there's still only so much room on the "front page," and it seems like you'd have no choice but to pick the people who make the best stuff and give them priority over everyone else. It would go from "made by NeoGAF" to "made by a few specific GAFers" pretty quickly, and that would understandable turn a lot of people off.

This is to say nothing of untangling the organizational and legal mess of who would be in charge, how it would be monetized, the degree to which it would be "official..." I still love the concept but I think there are too many pitfalls for it to be realistic, unfortunately.
