77~80

Due to :
- general jank/some lack of polish
- bugs
- UI/menu clusterfuck
- complicated control scheme
- MAYBE subpar performance on base consoles
- Some of its ideas/systems won't hit home (and there are lots of them).
- Subpar story

I'm so pumped. seems like so many good games this year. was loving RE9. Cheathappens. the place i get my trainers from got it out so fast for the other games. I'm sure they can be just as speedy with this game! Debating on preordering the game or not. other games have let me down in the past but this one seems so fun!
You really advertising some sort of paid cheating trainer? Weird

My gut tells me this game is a mile wide and an inch deep.

Would love to be wrong.

76.

Honestly that's also how I'm feeling about the game, but think the reviewers will score it up more for graphical reasons, so I went with 80-84.

I'm expecting a fairly decent exploration experience but the actual quests and whatnot will probably be straight up taken from what they did with Black Desert, so I'm expecting a lot of MMO style filler.

Info from a Korean streamer who finished the game (no spoilers):

- character swapping is just like GTA5 including transition effects where the camera zooms out into the world and back in.

- characters are going about their day as they are swapped in. one time he swapped into Oongka in the middle of a gigantic battle and had to fight his way out.

- he finished the game without the day 1 patch

- but even on his build most of the minor inconveniences were patched out including footstep sound.

- the streamer played rdr2 about 600 hours and he suggested CD was similar in tempo.

- played on 50 80 qhd cinematic without frame drop

- inventory was not an issue at all late game

- streamer stated it was game of his life.

- he avoided going further into details to avoid violating embargo.

Additional info:

- every region has different difficulty, gets difficult as you go east and north.

- nearly impossible to finish game just doing the main quest. need to upgrade your character.

- not a ubisoft slop. quests are organic and motivated.

- unfinished quests/content can be played after the ending (just like gta/rdr)

- every boss has different difficulty level

- after 2 weeks, finishing to the end, he only got to finish half of the bosses.

Looks like I'm canceling my Death Stranding 2 plans for this Thursday

Sounds like it's one of the games ever made.

Did they specify (or if it was stated elsewhere) if progression is handled the same way? Meaning you can mostly do whatever you want with whoever you want unless you're trying to progress the story?

I believe (based on whay I've read online) that most of the story missions are played as Kliff. But, they also said that the main story isn't the focus so my guess is that for most of your playtime you'll be able to play as whoever you want.

I am nervous papi. Lets hope this game is good.
Same here my man. Got my key and activated it, spent some time cleaning the SSD and now I'm looking at the Steam page waiting for the pre-load to go up like a retard.

I even have a few days off work. Hope the game is good, a big fantasy world with lots of shit to find and a good, fun and deep combat system to go with it sounds like a damn good time to me.

Papi don't worry, it's either gonna be A-OK or a Cyberpunk situation on base current gen, the PC version has already been shown to be competent on capable hardware.

I am not so worried about the performance but rather the game itself. Is it going to be good? Or is it too ambitious for his own good? And the story? We know nothing. I have so many questions lol

It's from an MMO first studio, I'm not expect a grand tale or anything.

There are games that would be in the 80-90 range but a lot of critics seem to be willing to overrate into the high heavens as monumental achievements in game design.
And then there are games that would be roughly in the same 80-90 range but the press seems to almost impatient to downplay and deflate as quickly as possible.

I'm getting the vibe that this will be one of the latter. A lot of previews seemed to focus really strongl on what the game "won't be".

I'm expecting lower 80s at best by most of the main magazines/sites.
Basically a scenario similar to Black Myth Wukong.

I hope the game reviews super fine just to see western devs seething in social media like they did with Elden Ring. :lollipop_content:

I sometimes look at the gaming industry like it's a turn-based spotlight. Japan get a turn, Europe gets a turn, America gets a turn, so naturally South Korea and China should get their turns too.

There's too much cope and seething when America has to wait for their next turn, almost like a person who's used to hogging the ball in a sport and can't cope when they don't have the ball anymore on the next play or quarter.
