Right because shitty jpeg compression has absolutely no effect on image quality. Nice job pal.KKRT00 said:And dont tell that those arent representative, because if i had game installed i could make much worse.
Those are perfectly representative because they look phenomenal. Are you actually trying to suggest otherwise?KKRT00 said:Ironically the last three pages has vanilla Crysis screens

And they dont even show aggressive LOD, like for example rocks pop-in 20 meters in front of You in Crysis 1, or LOD models/textures change in Warhead 5 meters in front of You.
This is what happens when you invoke the High res screenshot thread. The consequences are dire.NIN90 said:omg the jpeg nazis have arrived. all board the escape pods

The first three are. The rest are JPEGs and the last three are from steam cloud.Blizzard said:Aren't the first three lossless PNGs? ;
First 3 are .png and if You compress bmp to jpg [even with 90% quality setting] You almost cant tell the difference between png and jpg.Lostconfused said:Right because shitty jpeg compression has absolutely no effect on image quality. Nice job pal.

They do look good, but I think the single player shots of Crysis 2 look quite a bit better.luka said:Those are perfectly representative because they look phenomenal. Are you actually trying to suggest otherwise?
There have been reports of 10-15 hours depending on difficulty.WHOAguitarninja said:Has there been any word on how long the game is?

Dunno if it's YT encoding, but PS3 seems "blurer" than 360...

Stop with jpg myths.

You can notice the loss of detail in the steam cloud screenshot.
Well I was following the line of discussion where it was suggested that vanilla Crysis was "nothing special" anymore, which is of course preposterous.dark10x said:They do look good, but I think the single player shots of Crysis 2 look quite a bit better.
Only after spending over a minute switching between them and staring closely at every inch of those shots have I determined that the only difference is that the orange signs are eeeever so slightly blurrier than the other.Lostconfused said:What myths?

Steam cloud screenshots don't use 90% or 95% quality though, as far as I know.Lostconfused said:What myths?

I think that the blue solar panels at the bottom have the most noticeable difference. The lines are slightly blurred out and less sharp. The entire point isn't that the differences jump out at you, but there is a difference and the image is worse even if you can't tell how or why the second you see it.Blizzard said:On your Steam screenshot, would you mind uploading a version that has arrows drawn in paint or the GIMP or something (you can save them as PNG so you don't lose further quality) pointing to the areas that have lower detail? I crammed my face up to the monitor and could see a little difference in the edges of a bright orange sign and a small blue sign, but if I am missing major differences I would like to know them.

Conversely I agree with him.Heavy said:Fuck that.
They're very, very similar judging from the videos. PS3 runs at 1024x720 and 360 runs at 1152x720. Framerate seems similar on both.X-Frame said:Apologies if this has already been discussed, but since the game is near release and some people have their hands on it already - have there been any retail-build comparisons from the 360 to PS3 yet?
Yep, Crysis 2 DEFINITELY looks better than that.KKRT00 said:Ironically the last three pages has vanilla Crysis screens

I'm taking requests for one gameplay video, whatever you want, but the LAN has ended and we're leaving in a couple hours, so after this one I can't do anything else. When I play it again it'll be on my own copy and by then we'll all have it
