Crysis 2: PS3 performs better than 360 version

Rat Salad, publicly apologize and cancel your purchase of Crysis 2 for Xbox 360 or you can kiss your NeoGAF credibility goodbye.

*aheh*...Sorry Gaf. :b

I admit I did go on abit of a rant but in the end I'm gonna love seeing the game on both consoles, should be good fun seeing them in action and the passion on both sides of which is better will be fun to read. Still though,I have a decent pc,so I know I'll be playing it come release day. Play it on pc but still come here to read the outcome over which console version is preferred.

BTW, nice extra-spin you did there firewire.

Yeah, where's that pixel counting dude when you need him.... I refuse to believe until the pixels have been well and truly counted!! :D

Lot of pathetic console warring in this thread :lol
Why so butthurt over the possibility of Crysis 2 being slightly superior graphically on the PS3?

Problem is, they never said its better graphics. Could be anything.

I heard yesterday from a man that the 360 uses turbonic rotosynthesis, on each individual atom in C2. Whereas the ps3 just uses a couple of moths in a matchbox and nice words.

Cervat Yerli: "console gamers don't respect developmen". xD

Talking at the Crysis 2 premiere in New York, Cervat Yerli illustrated the difference between PC gamers and console gamers with the following example:

"I simplified it for our guys by saying there is one difference between the PC gamer and console gamer. I said the single most important difference is a PC gamer forgives you for about a minute. A console gamer gives you two seconds. It sucks or it fails and you're either the top or a flop. They don't respect any value you put into your development, either it works or it doesn't work."

No, it's the same thing we hear about for almost every game that's on both the PS3 and 360. It's just the way it is. We'll continue to call it "Storage Issues" (just for fun) I'm sure we'll keep hearing the same thing on almost everygame going forward as well.
Not much of a surprise, but let's break out any screen shots possible and see the zaggies in the background that you can't really see and go all fanboy about it. Sounds like another entertaining thread brewing, brought to you by NeoGAF.
no, it's always the other way around. Everyone keeps saying how inferior most PS3 versions are in comparison to 360 versions. When in reality the differences are not that huge.

That's only because the 360 GPU gives you "free" turbonic rotosynthesis. The PS3 moths in a matchbox live in the SPEs and are essentially the equivalent of 8x turbonic rotosynthesis. Probably.

what a fucking moron, he actually tried to analyze PC gamers vs console gamers, they're all one and the same
So you'd say you gave his analysis about 2 seconds?

Stock Crysis still has WAY better models, textures, and just about ever thing else :lol :lol

The console versions look awful in the trailers.

I wish they would actually show off some gameplay publicly. The impressions from the recent event sounded awesome and I really want to see the level of destruction, freedom, AI, and how flexible the new suit powers are. Those are what really got me pumped for this game, the graphics are just the icing.

The tech reel was not representative of the game at all. The segments that looked really bad in the console portion were just meant to show off AI and hit reactions, they were probably created just for that tech demo. I thought the environmental sections, even on consoles, looked pretty nice too. I'm sure the final game will look fine. Combine that with the destruction and freedom they're talking about and it'll be pretty impressive if it matches what Crytek says.

Eh, I'm not sure if you're being serious, but I was just joking, and with RavenFox, not with you. That's an old meme.

Oh boy.

Looks like we'll get a lot of entertainment out of this whole Crysis 2 situation, ps3 gamers vs. 360 gamers, console gamers vs. pc gamers. All this analyzing and whining and arguing over something that barely even matters, what a hoot.

Also, don't say what Philanthropist just said if you like to be able to post.

I'd like to see the percentage of gamers that exclusively play on PC, before I can differentiate between PC vs console gamers

so pc gamers take crap and console gamers don't?
I think it's true. You wouldn't see a console gamer trekking through the glitch-heap that is a STALKER game, but PC gamers still find that kind of experience rewarding. Playing unfinished games and loving it is in our blood.

yea well, not everybody are blizzardfans that can feed and suck the juices out of a game for 10 years before migrating to the next fruit that dropped from their table .-.

Well you are also ignoring the fact that we also get Stalker/Clear Sky Complete mods. Because some crazy dedicated fool is willing to do so much work and fix the game on his own time and then give it away to everyone else.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it but its worth noting that in all previous public demos of the engine it has been the 360 version that has performed the best, not the PS3 build.

It's exactly saying much since the framerate in the initial tech demo was unacceptable for both platforms.

Not sure about the PC snobbery either. All console gamers are aware that the PC version will be the best and don't really care either way. If there's any PC snobbery involved, it's a bit pointless. It's like speed skaters mocking track and field runners.

Too bad most PC players are pirates.

Care to back that up? Can you back it up? Are you spewing baseless shit from your mouth?

The answers are no, no, and a strong yes

Hey I liked that Joint Ops part. :)
haha, I wasn't sure if it applied, so I deleted it.

I will say that stress-testing a server with 200 people in a balls-out deathmatch on a relatively small map that was nothing but a large hill with small buildings haphazardly shat out across it with no mind paid to physical laws was one of the most fulfilling moments I've had playing games. There was an insanity to it that I still have not fully been able to comprehend. I can only see the typical shits that I mute in MW2, or those dudes crouching down in front of a manga section counting their lucky stars that FF7 will be remade, or those moms and their kids waving shit around in an attempt to out-blue shell each other, breaking down and weeping after one minute in that place. It was digitally realized sado-masochistic hedonism at its most violently harmless.

PC gaming master race-y enough?

If that's your opinion then I think you're going to be pretty disappointed with the final product, the framerate is definitely going to be one of the things sacrificed at times with the transition to consoles, just as it is in most games. The framerate in those demos wasn't markedly worse than it is in your average multi platform game, 30fps with a significant amount of dips and prevelant tearing is par for the course on consoles these days. A steady 30fps without tearing is the exception not the rule.

Either way, I feel its definitely relevant, often engine optimisation will benefit all platforms, Crytek themselves have specifically mentioned this when talking about how fitting the engine within the restraints of the consoles has benefited the performance of the PC version. If the PS3 version is now performing better than the 360 version then clearly that's not the case for all the work that Crytek are doing, much of their recent engine optimisation work must have been focused on the PS3 build.

Yeah. I used to always give that guy the benefit of the doubt, but now.. after this and his comments re: Apple earlier in the week. Guy kinda sounds a little misguided.
