So irrelevant that you had to troll a console that has the best software lineup of 2010

Usually we say that after playing the games.

But please dont let me Interrupt your thought process.

WIll probably double dip on it. One due to my friends list and other for pure O_0

This will be the company to test out how well their engine as third party can compete with exclusive in-house first party engines. So, I'm kind of interested in how it'll turn out. I'll still definitely get it on PC though, that is unless the MP is revamped and killer so my friends pick up the game. I hate playing games with randoms all the time :(

Finally, hope they invest more time with the AI and story this time as well. I didn't get to check out "Warhead" I'll admit, so I'm going off of the original yet. If they were greatly improved on, then awesome.

I don't understand why GameFAQs receives all the hate when GameTrailers is infinitely worse.

that's just tongue and cheek

I'm not hating gameFAQ. actually love that site.

I think their players are infinitely better than GAF players

people who want good controls don't play fps on console.

ONCE MORE UNTO THE BREACH DEAR FRIENDS!
lol - I was responding to the 'good vs janky' control thing. Are you saying PC gamers really LOVE games with shitty controls, because there are games with 'janky' controls on the PC as well :lol

PC gamers just spend so much money just to make their PC's work properly they have to play those low budget games you find on those little metal racks at Staples and Office Max while us console gamers get the big budget games that we can buy at real gaming stores.

Wait I got another one, how about...

I'm a PC and giving laura croft triangular titties in 1024x768 was my idea.

or

I'm a Console and
"things break"
.

I kid, I kid. HTPC, PS3, Xbox360, 7.1 Sound System, and two reference level CRT's here.

So... developing on a platform from the ground up yields better results than porting...

In related news, water is wet. Details at 11.

That's not the situation.

Personally, I'm waiting for the definitive Leadbetter/DigitalFoundry analysis where he talks smack about the incompetent Crytek developers and formulates what he would have done to make the other version better.

I cannot believe I suffered six years of a shitty PC. Goddamn it was like torture. MY EYES ARE OPEN

pretty amazing isn't it? i finally got a gaming capable rig a few months ago and am blown away by the difference in graphical fidelity.

ever since then my wallet has been hurting like crazy from all the sweet deals you can get on PC games.

CryTek sure as hell has some really talented developers, Epic look like amateurs next to them.

Not saying the devs at Epic are stupid, but comparing any U3 game to Crysis 2 says a lot about how well crafted Cryteks engine is.

their unreal tournament 3 port was really good, don't compare them to the developers they license their engine to

Yeah they are usually the console ports ;)

"Crytek has admitted that its getting "slightly more performance" out of the PS3 version of Crysis 2 than the Xbox 360 edition.

However, the studio's business development boss Carl Jones said he was confident the game would become the best-looking title "on every platform".

The studio has previously revealed that it overcame problems squeezing the game's massive CryEngine 3 onto console."

Translation:
1st sentence; "Hey PS3 owners, we know exactly what to say to get you excited about our product."
2nd sentence; "Shhhhh, don't worry 360 owners it looks exactly the fucking same."
3rd sentence; "PC Owners, you're overpriced gaming/porn rig is still totally justified, here is some added firepower for your images of insane resolutions in comparison threads."

Simply put: "Our game looks awesome".

"Our man Ryan saw just a snippet of gameplay running on PS3, and said it looked exactly the same as the 360 version. But now it appears that over the course of the title, Sony's system might have the edge."

Please Ryan, update NeoGaf ASAP with more snippet feedback, this thread is begging for hits. My man.

this is exactly what crytek wants to happen, u guys are playing into their hands

Not at all actually. The way the quote is worded makes me think they're implying that the PS3 is just as easy as the 360 to develop for.

It's seems as though it's too much to ask for people to read beyond the headline of an article/thread.

You should go visit System Wars at Gamespot forums. They're like animals.

Somebody should buy out Gamespot/GameFAQs and GameTrailers, then consolidate the forum userbases.

My God.

They also claim to have large D****.

BTW why are they always demoing the obviously inferior version?
They're setting your expectations low so you'll be blown
away!!

Amazing how far we've come. No one would've ever expected three years ago that a PS3 multiplatform title performing better than its 360 counterpart would be such big news...:lol Glad to see more thirdparty devs really taking advantage of the PS3 hardware, can't wait for comparisons!!

Just glad to see decent-looking multiplatform games.

Assassin's Creed 2 pissed me off with its bland, un-contrasted, vaseline-smeared textures and screen tearing on the PS3. Ugh.

Hm, I've never noticed I guess. Then again I'd never play it side-by-side to the 360 version so it doesn't matter anyways :p

Except that isnt what he meant at all. What he meant is a game like The Witcher that has a very different type of combat and play style or a game like Stalker that is brutally hard and unforgiving at the beginning of the game. Those types of games will never be a success on consoles. Most console gamers would give those games about 5 minutes then give up on them and never come back. The difference between a System Shock 2 and Bioshock are perfect examples of this.

Wow I played both for about 20 mins and did just that :lol . I'm just so used to console gaming its hard to play anything outside of console ports. I find that PC only games are a totally different beast.

I made the mistake of watching the 360 version in action before I played my copy.

It ruined the experience for me, almost. :(

Huh, most places said there was little difference between teh versions visually...certainly the differences between the first were more in performance than visuals..

Anyway, just got round to watching the last trailer...if thats ingame I will have to agree that it is the best looking console game overall... It may even look better than the original on pc. The trailer is a different beast when you watch it in HD. That bland soldier actually looks better than your average Korean in Crysis. Doesn't seem like they are making teh cutscenes purely ingame anymore though...

Warhead had lots of videos, pre-rendered in-engine FMVs and compression wasn't very good, I think they used bink for encoding. original Crysis had none, everything was real-time IIRC. I hope they go the real-time route for this one, specially on 360 because of disc space issues.

Well regardless, there was an insane amount of screen-tearing on the PS3 version and it drove me whacko.
