Yeah, maybe with the next gen of videocards in Crossfire/SLI. ATM, I see that map as an unreleased game. I wouldn't want to play at those framerates or resolution. I just finished Warhead and the lowest the fps ever dropped during the whole game was 27. I hate low framerates, so I can finally say Crysis is playable on my rig at max settings. I won't try those other maps until I can get the same fps.cameltoe said:those vids are fucking insane..
edit:
I hit that dude up and he sent me his config and that gdc06 map. Man does it look amazing!

CCC level 3. That's what I used on my 8800GT, CPU probably isn't helping though. Turn physics low.MadOdorMachine said:Can someone post some specs of what it would take to run this game maxed out with at least a steady 30fps. My PC chugs playing it even at the lowest settings. I installed VideoTubeStation's mod and it improved that graphics drastically but the game is unplayable starting in the snow level. I would really like to play this game maxed out. Here are my PC specs:
CPU - 2.66GHz Pentium Dual Core (not a Core 2 Duo)
GPU - 8800GT Nvidia w/512MB ram (It was overclocked from New Egg but I forgot the clockrate)
Ram - 2GB
What is CCC level 3?Hazaro said:CCC level 3. That's what I used on my 8800GT, CPU probably isn't helping though. Turn physics low.

Thanks dude, I'll check that out. I'm new to PC gaming so I appreciate the help. Out of curiosity though, I am interested in what it would take to run Crysis at full specs without dropping below 30 fps. I imagine I'll upgrade after Windows 7 comes out, but how much of a difference does the CPU make? I've had friends tell me that clock rate matters more than how many cores or processors you have. I agree with that to an extent, but aren't newer games, particularly Crysis designed to use multiple cores? I thought I read somewhere that Crytek said Crysis was more CPU dependant thatn GPU, so I'm curious what's needed for 30 fps at max settings.Hazaro said:
You only need 24 fps in Crysis for it to feel like 30 fps. To me at least and I'm super sensitive to FPS changes. Even 58 on Fallout 3 instead of 60 I noticed :lolMadOdorMachine said:Thanks dude, I'll check that out. I'm new to PC gaming so I appreciate the help. Don't use any mods at all on your first play through. It's best that way.Rimshot said:So my question is what Crysis mods are "must have" for the single player experience? A lot of the people in this thread are using Natural mod, is it a must have?

It's just to make it look better. I use Mster's config, only use it if you have a 4850 or 9800gtx or higher though. If not that then use CCC.-SD- said:Don't use any mods at all on your first play through. It's best that way.
Well, I have always thought Crysis looks best as Crytek intended, no mods needed. I have tried all the config's but after a while I always ended up returning to the original Crysis look. The balance is just right with the original visuals.Hazaro said:It's just to make it look better.-SD- said:Don't use any mods at all on your first play through. It's best that way.
Mmm, the comparisons are up for those who are interested though.-SD- said:Well, I have always thought Crysis looks best as Crytek intended, no mods needed.
