I thought about it jumping on the GG sale but I'd prefer to keep everything connected to my Steam account.LiquidMetal14 said:Can't believe you didn't strike on the Gamersgate 7.50 sale or EA Store 10 dollar sale. It will be on sale again but man you've them chances! I paid 17.50 for both Crysis and Warhead - Happy camper up in here.
I felt that way at first. Wore off real quick-like once I seen that Steam wasn't the only avenue for great sales I would rather have everything in 1 place but now I have stuff from Steam, GG, D2D, and the EA Store. I look at it like shopping in real stores which I tend to shop for the best deals anyways so I end up going to multiple places for games. It'l definitely be on sale again at some point though.mclaren777 said:I thought about it jumping on the GG sale but I'd prefer to keep everything connected to my Steam account.
Add -dx9 to the game's shortcut or on Steam launch options.ZZMitch said:Just upgraded my graphics card (6950 2GB) and started this game again (was only about 40 minutes in before). It is really fun, but some issues kind of annoy me, such as some texture and object pop-ins. I heard going into DX9 fixes some issues? How do I go about this?

Natural Mod + Textures Pack are essential.LeadGandalf said:So I picked up both C1 and Warhead up on Steam yesterday. Many people have suggested to mod the game to make it look/run/play better. I'm completely clueless on what to install, so if anyone could give me a rundown on the most popular/best mods, I'd really appreciate it.

With those on it looks better than C2 imo.
edit: you can also try the crazy particle effects mod if your rig can handle it.
Yep.LeadGandalf said:Edit: What Texture Pack do you recommend? I'm reading a lot of good things about "Rygels Textures Pack", is that one recommended?

Here is a thread about Crysis mods and tweaks.LeadGandalf said:So I picked up both C1 and Warhead up on Steam yesterday. Many people have suggested to mod the game to make it look/run/play better. I am using an Xbox 360 controller for reasons I won't go into here. In the options I can't see any possible way to custom config the controls via the Gamepad tab in the Options. Do I need to go through a cfg file and change it manually or is there an alternative way?
ib4 Use Mouse/kb combo.

Dries said:Well, it runs pretty great.. Anyway awesome game and what not, but sometimes when I sneak into bases EVERY enemy is standing still and doing nothing. It this supposed to be? :s

See? Every enemy just..stands there. It's like this in every base. Also, my console looks like this: http://tinypic.com/r/10qi610/7 Doesn't look too good. Gonna try a reinstall now.

You can remap pad controls in PC Crysis. I can't remember exacty how it's done (some .cfg tweaking is needed) but a quick google should help you out. I'm on my phone or I'd do it for you. Look for 'Crysis Tweak Guide' or something similar.Gen X said:Stink, the default pad controls are arse to say the least.
Old, but w/e: both games had soundtracks composed by Inon Zur. Some of the Fallout 3 and Crysis stuff sound very similar indeed. He also did Dragon Age and Fallout: New Vegas.NotTarts said:Played Fallout 3 and just noticed that the battle music sounds almost exactly the same as it does in Crysis. It even uses the same instruments.
Curufinwe said:Anyone have recommended settings for playing Crysis at 14400 x 900 with this setup?
Windows XP with 2 GB RAM
E6420 @ 2.13 GHZ (will overclock to 2.8 GHZ)
768 MB GTX 460
The optimal setup just set everything to Medium, but surely with 768 MB of video memory I could have Texture Quality on High without lowering the frame rate?
I'm doing another play through of the game myself. This time on the 360. I have to admit, the port is extremely impressive. I find it amazing that they were able to pull this game off with so few sacrifices on the consoles.
The speed is a bit different from the PC version, but it's much better than Crysis 2.The speed's been nerfed, right? Other than that, it controls like Crysis 2?
