Curt Schilling 'serious' about challenging Elizabeth Warren for her Senate seat

I'm not saying that Schilling will give Warren a serious test (though, again, that midterm electorate.) I'm just trying to dispel the notion that the idea of his campaign is any way farcical, and that he can't be the GOP candidate in that race.

In the current climate, against a popular incumbent, a GOP Senate candidate in Mass is like a Democratic candidate in Oklahoma. Any reasonable primary challenger is a bigger threat to Warren than Schilling. I think things will be even worse for outspoken Trump supporters during the next midterm. Once Trump loses embarrassingly, the GOP is going to do everything they can to distance themselves from him and every Democrat is going to make sure the GOP is remembered as the party of Trump for as long as they can.

Let him run and get blown the fuck out by epic proportions. Maybe then, he'll realize no one is interested in the word vomit coming out of his fat mouth and go away forever.

If he wants to run, go for it. Even those who hate his guts should applaud. If you don't like your current situation, put yourself out there and fight to fix it.

That said, he'll get eviscerated in the election (and rightfully so imo) but if he gets more people out to vote in a midterm, whether for or against him, it's a net positive, especially since in that same midterm there willl be an overwhelmingly high chance of having local races on that ballot that will impact your life just as much if not more.

We're I in MA, Warren gets my vote 10 times out of 10 but I wouldn't be just voting for her and walking out of the booth.

Mid term election. Polarizing incumbent. Local legend. I don't like where this is going one bit.

Curt Schilling should be serious about going somewhere and fucking himself aggressively.

He'd probably have a better shot of winning in Arizona to be honest.

By there are two Republican incumbents there.

Easier to get the nom in Mass. Plus his "legend" status lol.

Yes, he won another won in Arizona, but no one cares about the Diamondbacks.

I remember those 5 minutes when GAF was trying to so hard to suck up to this guy when he posted about his game all those years ago.

YES. I think about this every time he comes up in a thread because even back then it was appalling how people fawned all over him.

Well he was making an interesting game and interacting with the community.

I think you two are being "too look how cool am I".

He never brought up his political views and the topic of discussion was about his game.

I don't understand how Kurt isn't in jail

This. Given the depth of deceit that Curt and his management team at 38 Studios engaged in and the gigantic losses absorbed by the taxpayers of Rhode Island, there should have been jail time or at the very least, probationary sentences handed down. State administrators involved in negotiating the deal should have faced the same.

In the end, he was forced to cough up just $2.5M on losses of over $100M.

That game was good but he had nothing to do with it but get the money for it. Which he ran out of, and cancelled the real ambition of the game (a WOW-like mmo) and didn't pay the employers.

To praise him for that non-effort is like thanking trump because you had an ok experience in Atlantic city

I don't know how polarizing she is in Mass. The biggest hit to her popularity was not endorsing Sanders because Hillary wasn't liberal enough.

You would never guess it reading GAF, but turn on sports radio in Mass and if they're taking calls on politics you would be pretty surprised.

I guess he got a taste for fucking people over with 38 Studios, and wants to give it a shot on a grander scale as a Republican senator?

Yes, but the vaunted sports radio voting bloc is irrelevant.

Not shocking that MA racists support an asshole

Curt: "I haven't taken enough L's recently. I'll go against the most popular senator in the country."

This pretty much. He's totally delusional. I can't see how he doesn't understand he will get DESTROYED running for any public office due to his past deeds and statements.

So Boston sports fans are who we thought they were. Not shocked.

He's a baseball legend that wanted to make nerdy rpg videogames. It's neat, but obviously didn't work out. Now he's driving a crazy train and nuked his espn career.

As a resident of Greater Boston it will be my pleasure to volunteer for and vote for Warren against this useless sack of shit.

Maybe somebody can ask him to pay RI the money back after he thought a project manager for a giant MMO should be a former Gamespot host.

Scott Brown beat a Democrats that even Democrats didn't like. You have to be delusional to even bring it up
I think there was also a little bit of pushback from dem voters on the idea of just because it was the Kennedy seat they owned it and didn't have to try. The state does have a habit of every now and then voting in one term opposition as a message vote, but I hardly see that being the case versus Warren, especially of it was schilling.

As for the sports talk radio thing that is not a good barometer for the actual political landscape of the state.

It's absolutely not. There is one program in particular which is a rare source of the vocal right minority. Curt regularly uses as a springboard.

Worth noting.

I can't believe I rooted for this guy back during his baseball days. When the fuck did he become such a shitty human being?
