So I tried my hand at a Tomb Raider one today. The only thing I don't love about it is that the backside of the case is pretty blank, but that's okay. I don't want to shove any unneccessary fluff when the whole point is minimalism. :)

Unfortunately, the dimensions seemed to be off when I tried to print it. The cover fit the box perfectly, but the spine was too far to the right, I think. Here's a link to the full resolution picture and hereis the PSD file. Did I just print it wrong?

I've been making a bunch of templates with a consistent style for awhile now. I originally had planned for some kind of logical repository for them, but it might be a good idea to get them all in one place. Some of them are heavily based on other people's templates with only slight modifications.

Just for reference, here are the various templates and their sizes. (All at 300 PPI)

Glad you're happy with it. :)

Which covers printed incorrectly? My guess is a mismatch between the PPI and the pixel dimensions.

I used the PS4 format in here. Is it out of date?

Great stuff ! It's a shame about the dimensions though. I'm sure it can be fixed. Also, I might be wrong but I think the distance between the PS4 logo and the game title, on the spine, is a tad bit wider than the distance between the title and the lower end of the cover. You might want to measure it to be sure.

Hmm.. That's the most recent one, and I'd thought it was correct.

Another user (UnluckyKate) printed a cover I made with that PS4 template and it appears to be the correct dimensions, visible here for the spine and here for the entire thing (though those weren't the final prints!)

I'm not sure why the spine wasn't aligned correctly for you. Are PS4 cases different sizes in different regions?

I'd play around with a splash of colour; maybe with the 'definitive edition' backing and somewhere else; could work wonders :)

Great job anyways.

Still waiting to get a good minimal Xbox One template.

...yeah all the art is actually from Deadly Shadows, but I honestly don't really like the art they made available for the new game.

Had a play around with these today as this month I finally got around to playing the series. I played MGS back in '09, and always meant to play the rest, so I picked up the HD collection and got hooked, finished 2 & 3 this month and started on 4.

They're not done (no spine art yet, the titles are on the front), so feedback welcome. :) Still waiting on hi-res versions of the art I used for the V cover.

Pretty good but I think ground zeroes and phantom pain should be separate.

It may not be entirely necessary anymore, but I created my own custom Vita Template. It's perfectly sized, has many options, and optional cutting guides if you're doing yours by hand.

Download:

Thanks for the upload ! I'll go with b/w Spine "PSVita" and Front "Logo + PSVita" only (don't like the PSNNetwork logo).

Edit: Testprinted it and realized your template is not perfect. Spine is not completly in the middle, height is missing a few millimeters. Correcting it right now with a few testprints. Will upload a clean b/w template when it's perfect.

I remember an old issue of EGM or Gamepro I once bought that had the best Wind Waker alternate cover, I used it in my copy of it. It stayed in there until 2010 when I let a friend borrow it, a year later he claimed to have given the game back to me when he never did. I ended up getting myself another copy at that point but I missed the alternate box art. After some internet searching I found a photo of it.

I know it's a long shot but does anyone by any chance have a link to a scan of this artwork?

I tried to recreate it for ya. It's not the best design, but if it's what you want, it's what you want.

OH wow this is very sweet of you, thank you so much. I'm not sure if you saw but someone linked me to a scan of it earlier. However I love the back of your case and I appreciate all the effort you put into this. I can't wait to print this.

Here now the clean and fixed Vita templates based on "thatsmytrunk's" template (thanks!). Corrected the somewhat wrong measures (at least for my testprints, maybe it has something to do with inch/cm measures?) and did some tiny adjustments to the front logo (color interruption wasn't visible).

Clean, basic black or white Template, just like the standart PS3-template often used in this thread. It's 20,74 x 12,44 cm, should be printed at this exact size. After some testprints I'm pretty confident this fits perfectly now.

Will probably try to make some Vita covers for OlliOlli, Velocity etc. in the next days. Problem is that I only have one spare Vita box, and it's very difficult getting these in the EU. I only found a few US-ebay sellers, but they charge too much for delivery abroad.

Threw together a Riddick cover.

Took a little longer than intended due to the difficulty of finding high-res assets for older games. Renders of the logo or the original cover art were all lower resolution. I was tempted to use the poster from the latest movie for the front.
The art on the back is from Dark Athena

I also created a new template based on existing dimensions, my old template was about 10 pixels off. Not a big deal, but might as well bring it up to specifications.

And this is the reason I did the DS template, to get the proper sizes to do a GBA Template. This is only for American DS cases (unless that's only the european 3DS cases that are a different size).

And here's the Mother 3 design if you want to use it. It's originally by Jon Kay, I just messed around with it in the template.

I really need to buy a color printer and some nice legal paper so I can make some for my loose carts.

Who created this Dark Souls Cover?

I have it tagged as Author: Dreweyes

I should note that if you download any cover from the dropbox, it should be tagged with the author (either do right click -> properties -> details tab, or just select the image if you have the information in the Windows explorer pane). There were a few of them that I couldn't find authors for, but the vast majority do have their author in the metadata.

I was even looking through the metadata last night and noticed that, I was too tired to connect those dots for whatever reason.

I've read that tutorial guide but I'm just not good with the software. Is there a good video guide I can look at?

We need a template for Xbox One, after the suggestion in the Titanfall Beta thread i want to turn this
titanfall___titans_dropping_by_mdk7-d774978.jpg

into a cover.
I'll do it soon, any particular advice? (it's my first time)

Original Gameboy Games are extremly diffcult. Was looking for high res version of tetris and mario land 1 myself but gave it up.

@µdk7: I'm sure there are templates for an Xboxone Cover on vgboxart (Under Ressources). Maybe you use one and edit it to a clean style.

Limbo - PSVita

(Click the image for highres PNG)

Was looking for an image that I liked for quite some time. Finally found this amazing artwork (below) by french photographer Antoine Pidoux on deviantART.
I liked the black/warm white contrast so much that I contacted him and asked for permission to use his image. Really nice guy, visit his amazing gallery and his facebook!

Played Limbo the first time on my Xbox and really liked it, but replayed it on my Vita when it came out and loved it! The atmosphere playing it at night in bed on that OLED-screen was just amazing!
Edited Antoine's image and faked the backside with the spiderweb. Really like the outcome!

Great covers! I love that artist.

It would break the style, but the MGSV cover for gameinformer was ridiculous.

You also might be able to cut Snake out from the background entirely and keep the style consistent that way.

By the way, don't use imgur for your uploads, compresses the image.

Is that magazine out, btw ?

Is that link working for you ? All I get is "Service Unavailable. HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable."

Yes, I'll post it for you.

Apparently, March issue means it releases in February. This article was posted February 4th and it describes the print issues should be available, 'in the coming days.'

Shit guys. Ok I've downloaded 2 box arts for PS4 games, KZ:SF and Infamous. But the KZ one is 3225 x 1950. It's supposed to be 3225 x 1906

Does anyone know how to cut those 44 off or is it not a big deal and it will fit anyways?

Well, it shouldn't be more difficult than cropping the image to 3225 x 1906 using Photoshop or similar program. Or do you mean something else?

Yeah I was able to crop it, thanks. I've had Pixelmator for awhile now and haven't learned how to use it....maybe I should start.

Somewhat related to this thread, but I have been creating my own GB/GBA boxes the past few weeks.

Makes your collection look more uniform as I had many games stored in DS cases as the original boxes are too expensive.

I mock them up in photoshop and print them out on what is known as Card Stock paper.

Link to album: http://z46.minus.com/mby7NQjuGbel8e

Example:

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Golden Sun, Harvest Moon, Mario & Luigi, Metroid: Zero Mission, Pokemon Red, and Zelda: The Minish Cap are all fakes. The rest are my original collection.
