CYBERPUNK 2077 |OT2| The Last Samurai [>56K Warning_]

15 hours in now.

Don’t get me wrong, I think there’s so much wrong with the game: the AI sucks, the shooting isn’t great, it doesn’t know if it wants to be an action open world game or an RPG and so on. Plus of course the game is seriously plagued with bugs and performance and visual issues (even on quality mode on the Series X).

But despite all this I’ve actually started to really love the game. Story is getting somewhat interesting, the open world is beautifully designed, I actually like the driving mechanics and there seems to be a lot of depth in some of the side content.

It kind of makes me sad. If they ditched the XO/PS4 versions and released a fully completed version on the PC/PS5/XSX, this really would have received insane praise.

A practical question - if you buy the perk which auto disassembles junk you're missing out on a lot of potential credits, right? I've seen quite a lot of junk worth 750€, but I bought that perk early on in the game.

wtf, why monday
They said before the patch will be out on december 21. I guess consoles were just in more priority than pc.

Yes, it's a terrible perk and you should not take it.

why have pool tables and arcade games in the game at all? because they are there for worldbuilding. because these are bars and in a bar you will find those things. not every game needs to be GTA. the hacking driving and shooting gameplay is pretty fulfilling i say. no need to make a shitty fake 2D arcade game like Bethesda would do. their games are full of crap like that because the main gameplay isn't satisfying. ditto for Rockstar.

moment to moment gameplay is compelling here. id rather CDPR focus on getting some form of ray tracing into the next gen versions than adding pointless add-ons.
I agree they are there for world building [since they aren't playable]; but a lot of the gripes players have with this game is the lack of activities to partake in while out and about in the world itself.

Boxing, racing, shooting and hacking [which is more of a gameplay mechanic than a "mini-game"] are fine; but not near enough for most players. I myself was hoping to play some Arcade games in this future City - not only for immersion sake, but to see what an Arcade game would even be like to play in 2077. It just would give us something else to do. Sure this isn't a GTA game, but GTA games do a lot in this regard as far as mini-games and side content on offer and it's fun to partake in them.

They mentioned that there would be something Gwent-like in the game too - if it's there, I haven't seen it. I want more things to immerse myself in while out in the world. That would fulfill their promise of an immersive, exciting city to explore and lose yourself in.

More things to do is always appreciated in an open-world game.

I don't disagree, but if they're going to add arcades, I hope they put more effort into them than Rockstar does. GTA's arcade games are garbage tier.

Pool, darts, and a cyberpunk poker game would be ideal as well. They're a great way to kill time while waiting for a mission without having to skip time manually.

The only time I've ever enjoyed arcades within a game was Shenmue, but those were legit Sega arcade games.

something related to our world:

first time sale of cell cultured meat in Singapore. Thats right, meat grown inside a laboraty is being sold and eaten for the first time in humanity right fucking now.

We're going towards a Cyberpunk-esque future

Agreed.

I appreciate the Arcade games in Rockstar games just because I can play them - but yeah, they aren't that great.

If they made really quality Arcade games in Cyberpunk 2077 - that would be my Gwent🤘

ah yeah i never cared for mini games. "something to do", you are playing a game, lol i can't see murdering people in slow mo with your laser whip getting boring.

i do think there is a problem with people expecting this to be GTA. i saw a video of someone complaining that pedestrians didn't react the way they did in GTA. i saw someone complaining about the cops, how they wouldn't respond, as if you are going to get 5 stars like Vice City and some cyber tank will pull up. admittedly that would be cool. but also it doesn't fit the world. the cops in this world are outnumbered. they are few and far between, depressed, suicidal even, having trouble vying for territory, competing with deadly gangs of mercs and cyber psychos. the city is only responding to calls in the rich part of town, they just do not have the resources. for that reason, it makes sense that a bunch of cops don't just show up out of nowhere if you start killing people. this is a violent dystopia full of that exact thing going on all over town! your job is partially to clean it up, not start it yourself. again, not GTA.

fwiw i fixed my Quickhack issue. when i upgraded i chose a OS that enabled 8 seconds of slow motion, but didn't feature quickhacks. so eff that. went back to the Ripperdoc. by this time i had saved up $45k. double jump here we come!

I suppose, but then, I'm the type of guy that throws money away to save time or for convenience in real life, so...

Yup.

That is exactly the aesthetic they were going for - and I love it💯

80's-era cyberpunk is one of the best things ever.

OK guys I need some help. How the fuck do I beat
Oda? He hits really hard, its difficult to dodge and when I fail to do that it is almost 1 hit. Maybe not 1 hit but a single combo usually kills me.
. Forgot to visit ripperdoc before that so I don't have a lot, only 50k for implants, and he does not accept cash:D

That's some insane difficulty spike. I'm playing it on hard, and I just see no hope lol. Up until this point everything was rather straightforward, only
Raffen shiev cave was a problem - but big part of that was janky controlls, and terribly designed place where you start. But even then I felt that with some luck I can make it.

Thanks for CDPR for delivering patches so soon and fast. It is really needed I guess. Bc of management their staff is probably forced to work overtime into the holidays...

Really nothing you can do but level up a bit and get better gear. When I fought him, I dodged some rockets and then just straight up murdered the fool with a revolver.

I went to that porn shop in japantown and saw all the BDs you could buy, with a discription under all of them that says the software is incompatible with your device

I was very upset

Damn. Will have to reload some earlier save I think. Either I'm to low, or just the build is not working (rifle/melee ninja and netrunner, low body stat)

Man this game is so weird sometimes.

I walk into The Machine which turns out to be this awesome music store. They sell [among other things] two legendary Johnny Silverhand records, 600 eddies a piece. And I mean legendary as in the gear level was legendary. So of course I think "cool, I'm buying these and they'll show up in my apartment somewhere on the wall or something".

So I drive home, but there's nothing. What was the point of those records?

There are so many weird quirks available all over the place that 1000000% guaranteed were supposed to be for apartment customization but just never made it to the final version of the game.

The game is getting on my nerves a bit.
There is so much waiting for everyone to stop walking or stop talking... so much taking control from You like it's metro exodus.
My father came over to see the what the news are about and I was doing the Pam convoy mission... he was not impressed lol. but that was a poor mission

I hope all the cut content gets restored soon.

The Villefort is a pretty dope car but they need to adjust the camera placement because with way it is now, V is too damn short and can't see over the dashboard making driving next to impossible in first person.

I bought the Quadra Avenger for 55,000 bucks, drove around the block and reloaded a save for this same reason. The window is tiny and the hood is so huge you can't see shit.

Imo not a chance. Unless it was planned for dlc. But it would look very bad, I doubt it.

No doubt they had stuff planned for the apartment. There's so much pointless empty space, it just makes no sense compared to the insane detail in the rest of the world.

Even with all the hullaballoo, bugs, faux outrage (especially on era, i know some users there just like controversies instead of discussing games) and so on. CP 2077 is probably my GOTY, i loved the setting, stories, side jobs, writing and so on. If they manage to fix most of the issues it is going to be such a great game
