CYBERPUNK 2077 |OT2| The Last Samurai [>56K Warning_]

33 hours in. Mostly sticking to side gigs. Some progress on the main plot. None on the small gigs. Any of those worth doing?
Side missions are all over the place, some are quick, some lead into long, interesting plot threads, with their own big set pieces and plot twists. A lot of the best stuff is side quests. But then some of them are also like 10 minutes and don't go anywhere.

Stuff like gangs and street crime and cyberpsychos are often not that interesting story wise (though they do sometimes have a backstory if you stop to read stuff), but they're the best way to get quick cash, with an NCPD bounty plus some guns and gear you can flip. If you're trying to work up money for that cyberware or ride, that's the much better way to do it rather than through missions.

It's funny how the people who randomly pop in just to shit on Cyberpunk always list the lack of sex and romance options as one of its most glaring omissions.

7ycCx9a.png

Probably the same people who can't score with the opposite sex in real life and are basement dwellers and mouth breathers. if that's your big gripe for this game, I'd hate to see the failure of life you have.

Even if you can enter a lot of them, is there any reason to? From what I've heard (haven't played the game) there's basically nothing to do in the game outside the main and side missions, and no incentive to explore.
you the kind of player who enjoys playing darts and poker in games? if so, yeah, there's none of that in the game.

but if you like the gameplay, there's plenty to do...

Finally beat it today. I didn't explore the city as much as I wanted to (next playthrough) as I left a lot of gigs undone, but did all the major side quests.
The ending I got was bittersweet, I reloaded and did the end 3 more times and was happy to see there being very different endings in the game (as long as you did certain side quests right).
Overall I really enjoyed the game. Can't wait for coming months when CDPR smooths things out further.

A lot of people who are disappointed in the game (not taking bugs into consideration) seems to have been expecting GTAVI.
This game is A LOT like The Witcher 3, it reminds me of that game in so many ways, with its focus on characters, personal stories, the lore of the world and an intriguing main story.. that's exactly what I was hoping for, so I'm happy.
I get that the game has shortcomings, random NPC AI in the world is pretty bad for example and the game overall lacks polish. But the pros definitely outweighed the cons for me.

Listing all the lies and cut features takes 33 fucking minutes... That must be some kind of world record.

Never again... I liked the game as a good mostly linear action adventure game, but that's extremely far from what was promised.

They lied a ton about that game. From 3rd person cutscenes to complete lack of standard NPCs AI to the lack of importance of your starting path to dozens of other things... Very few things were true. Shameful.

it would have been nice to have more mini games but I bet that was something that was cut.

The arcade games are right there but I can imagine designing a bunch of games would take time.

I would have liked to seen futuristic take on Billiards and card games. You would think there would be some sort of casino or something in the game. Would be fun to have to use your cybertech to win at Poker or something.

How many times are you going to post this? You hate it. Stop playing it and complaining about it. Play something you like. The game is just fine if your expectations are not through the roof. I have more than got my money's worth and I am not half way through it. If I spent half as much time over-analyzing it as some people on this forum, of course I would hate it. OMG THAT GUYS ASS IS CLIPPING THROUGH THE CAR SEAT! I DEMAND A REFUND!!!

You know that asshole is only doing it for Youtube ad revenue. I'm so tired of Youtube grifters and annnngry gamers. Video game criticism is an absolute cesspool of mouthbreathing cretins these days. It's exhausting to be exposed to these "adults" screaming like 5 year olds with, "liar liar, pants on fire!" They "promised" things? I'll start giving a fuck about that when game companies start making legal contracts with players so....never.

Next time, don't pre-order a game. Wait for impressions from a wide spectrum of people who are able to express themselves beyond "it's not GTA V / Skyrim / RDR2."

Every single video they released had WORK IN PROGRESS in the video. Making games is hard work and things need to get cut because it doesn't work, it takes too much time or costs too much, or it just isn't fun. Let it go, man.

Honestly most of this is just streamlining and balancing for pure design reasons. Things like reducing the number of different stats or limiting certain stats to mods, changing railways for terminals just feel like design decisions. Even wall running, or being able to hack without jacking into an enemy physically, they're just design choices.

The police system, NPC routines, traffic AI, that kind of thing was definitely cut because they didn't have time to do it well. They're fairly superfluous features in terms of the core of the game, but would have helped the game's verisimilitude.

Yeah, it's crazy how different the side content can be. Some of this stuff is pure throwaway shoot 'n loot combat encounters while some of the other stuff you run into can be super interesting. I spent like 5 hours today (currently at 39 hours playtime) just doing side stuff in the badlands and eastern side of town and have encountered a wide range of content quality. I actually kind of like not knowing if a side mission is going to be cut and paste or something substantial. Definitely makes me want to run around and explore more.

I think I maxed out my street cred (level 50?), so that kind of sucks. I feel like there are still hundreds of side missions if I wanted to do them all.

I'm glad I don't let myself get invested in games before release anymore. Marketing is poison. Never believe a word out of any developer/publisher unless the game is less than a year out. Even then, take it with a grain of salt.

The OG 2018 "Chippin' In" song just got released:
🤘

I though it was brilliant that Jackie makes a "chippin' in" joke that you probably aren't even going to get on your first playthrough. Good tune too.

Nice video from Girlfriend Reviews

Tldw: should've never been released on ps4/xbo, bad corpos, good devs, great game (on PC)

Ya I saw this on my youtube feed and thought, "oh no, not you too." but it was a pretty positive video at least about the game itself and fair criticism of the management decisions.

Lol sex scenes are cringy but I have a gf and still enjoy good romance options in my RPGs. Options being the keyword there :p It's just like when we play games like Fire Emblem, Mass Effect, etc that present those things as selling points. Sometimes it's fun to romance your waifu/husbando in a game. Just like any fiction, be it things about battle, mecha, etc, romance can be a selling point to a game like this.

Good romantic writing is lacking in RPGs in general, so when you get an Open world RPG that has less romantic dialogue than a 360 game, yeah I'm going to cite that as part of the detriments to its design as an RPG.

That being said if we're going to cite "sex" in a game that put out marketing/articles/etc about how mature the game is and how it'll have full genitals and puts dildos and butt plugs in a ton of places, I dunno, seems odd to cite people thinking sex would be in the game as a bad thing. Maybe we should point some of those virgin dialogues to the devs who thought "sexual content" just meant putting dildos and strapons in a bunch of rooms, but I know we wouldn't do that.........

---------------------------------------------------

ANYWAYS here's some screens I got while imagining my V is a complete dumpster fire of a hacker who gets out of situations through sheer dumb luck. My graphics card isn't the best but until I upgrade this is the best I can do.

When you think that you are already absolutely and stupidly op and then you discover suicide\cyberpsichosis\reset hacks and the legendary cyberdeck that make them moltiplicate to other enemies and the fact that you can trasmit this stuff by hacking cameras...also legendary ping to hack stuff through walls...

i'm pretty sure that absolutely NOBODY tested the hacking in this game :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I wish there would be more Jackie and less Silverhand in this game. :messenger_sad_relieved:

After spending 50+ hours with the game so far I have to agree. The whole relationship with Silverhand has been done pretty badly, especially the part about V coming to terms with who Silverhand is for him
like he suddenly starts to allow Silverhand to "borrow" his body like it's nothing
Jackie is a cool guy and he should've had a bigger role. Maybe he was in the part between the prologue and act 1 that was presumably removed from the game?

On point. There's something extremely Kindergarten about the 'They lied!!!' aspect as well. As if 2+ years ago CDP as a collective entity of 300 developers had somehow already realised the game in its entirety when the trailer came out but then inexplicably started chipping away at it, thus the whole 'Cut Content' accusation side of things that comes from these dumb fuck Chuds that plague all game releases. I just don't think the people who either make these videos or come here to blindly push them, have a Scooby about how the sausage is made or an appreciation that when they say 'Work in progress does not reflect the final look of the game' they genuinely mean it.

btw also WE KNEW THAT A LOT OF THESE FEATURES WERE CUT EVEN BEFORE THE GAME CAME OUT, but of course we not gonna mention that in the video. 🙄

This and they did not say there was going to be lots of 3rd person cutscenes. They said there was only a few which there is.

🙏 Lies or cut during development?
Do I really care, no.

We're probably going to see some impact on the industry as a whole. In this day and age of widespread outrage/victimhood culture, more devs need to take Rockstar approach and show the game only a few months before release: fully feature/content complete and in last stages of optimization.
And CDPR should've been far more precise in explaining some aspects of the game ( some people really went in expecting some kind of reality simulator/sandbox or that lifepaths lead to completely different main characters)
"More hype" isn't worth all the blowback you'll receive later on.

Really hoping dlc comes out that won't work on last gen. Maybe fix things up that way.
omg imagine the shitstorm if that happened. i agree with you...they need to leave those archaic consoles behind. i mean, they haven't announced that the dlc/expansions will ever come to PS4/XB1 it was just assumed. i'd go through insane amounts of popcorn watching that meltdown if CDPR made dlc/expansions exclusive to PS5/XSX/PC. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Idk why many people are not liking Keanu/Silverhand. I personally love the character. Really adds alot to the game. I like how he randomly pops up and try to manipulate V's decisions, or at times just gives his opinions on things. Really enjoy their banter.
i like keanu but it's so immersion breaking having him voice him. they should've went with some random person to voice him. i don't see johnny silverhand i just see keanu.

otherwise i suppose the character is fine. they just goofed up by hiring a major hollywood celebrity.

so if i climb silently maybe they wont notice me ... they didint . im really disapointed in how much they showed that faction as important in game and how we not having almost any activity with them like zero... was that cut from final game maybe ? hmm

People keep saying things were cut I just think they weren't able to put them in the game in time for release, it's possible we might see them in the future
I'm hoping they bring back Spiderbot, would be perfect for techie build. So you'd have a "portable companion" that you could issue commands ( like MGS V D-dog) and techie could give it more commands, repair it, enhance it, customize it. Something like "robotics" skill tree with it's own separate perk system.
But some end up cut simply because they're not worth it, or end up being "fun" in the end.
Like in-game trains system: you love it first few times, but then it just ends up slow means of transportation where nothing is really happening ( or they would have to add a lot of content for it separately). And something probably only a small portion of players would end up using frequently.

I saw this used as Graffiti and it made sense to me, but now I realize it must be a Banksy-style street artist turned fine artist.

What's your malfunction? This isn't the thread for dumping on the game. EviLore EviLore EviLore EviLore already outlined that a few posts back

That wasn't supposed to be a "dump". It supposed to show that CDPR tends to release bugged games and afterwards transforms them into GOTY material.
But jumping to conclusions is the way this forum goes....

Do you honestly think dropping a video with no comment is magically going to make people watch it? Least of all one that's 22 minutes long?

aint nobody got time for that GIF

Buy a fucking clue. Add context.

I'm having a lot of fun (way past the 100-hour mark at this point). Aside from the occasional bugs being ironed out, there are definitely a few things I'd like to see implemented in terms of QoL improvements.

  • Change the symbol for cars for sale on the maps. It's super annoying that it's shown as a mission marker.
  • They need to delineate with colour (make them green or something), terminals you can hack for money/etc versus ones you can just hack for effect.
  • Lock items so they can't be disassembled. Hasn't happened to me but I know others have talked about it.
  • List by category (Type doesn't seem to do shit). I want to just compare handguns, assault rifles, etc etc.
  • Ignore silencers on weaponry when comparing their relative damage capability. I'm all about that sneak game so silencers are de rigeur, but whenever I'm
  • Reduce the level of being able to remove mods (the waste not want not perk) from 16 Tech down to 12 on the perk tree. 16 just feels like end game and just means you end up with an apartment full of clothes waiting to disassembled for their juicy mods (should just be able to remove the mods as well)
  • More customisation (skin/tattoos, hair colours etc). Also way more haircuts. Seems like they're basically giving you the same assortment as the NPCs, many of which (like the Sumo style one) just look terrible. At the very least there should be an option to flip them.
  • Clothing preview. Whether you're crafting or buying, the ability to see the end product on you wouldn't go amiss.
  • Sort out the whole Junk situation of Trash versus Valuable. everything being worth either $3 or $750 seems kind of dumb

Did they fix the issue where the game doesn't properly load your post game save nor let you keep the items you obtained in the final mission?
