Side missions are all over the place, some are quick, some lead into long, interesting plot threads, with their own big set pieces and plot twists. A lot of the best stuff is side quests. But then some of them are also like 10 minutes and don't go anywhere.33 hours in. Mostly sticking to side gigs. Some progress on the main plot. None on the small gigs. Any of those worth doing?
Stuff like gangs and street crime and cyberpsychos are often not that interesting story wise (though they do sometimes have a backstory if you stop to read stuff), but they're the best way to get quick cash, with an NCPD bounty plus some guns and gear you can flip. If you're trying to work up money for that cyberware or ride, that's the much better way to do it rather than through missions.
