Please tell me this is real

I couldn't give a rats ass about reset era or any kind of politics in gaming. As a gay person I don't need a gay person in the game to identify with. Just make the game and or characters interesting.

That said, it's really depressing that they are using that F*ggot term and that people here are finding it funny. To me that word is just as bad as the N word. Hope it's fake.

Is that pic real? Did Polygon actually devote the first 7 paragraphs of their review to "trans issues"?

A part of my mind has trouble believing anyone can be THAT crazy.

I mean, it was written by Ms Sarkeesian’s former employee and pet tranny who spent much of last year complaining that he had to get a job in a warehouse to make ends meet. So.

I haven't been this excited for a video game since I was a kid if I'm being honest. I don't know if it's the hype or the game itself but, I like it. Seeing my Collector's Edition that I preordered last November say "Preparing For Shipment" gave me some serious warm and fuzzies.

Count me among the number of ERA members who have left the site. Transitioned, if you will. Banning conversations about a game over some idiotic social issues no one really gives a fuck about. I wonder why these same idiots don’t demand that Kanye threads get banned. I mean he said slavery was a choice. That’s worse than any he she shit.

Wait, why is this game controversial to those nutjobs?

Her public mobster-style attempt to secure a partnership with CDPR failed and perhaps she feels the need to rub it in their faces. As thought there were any reasonable doubt Polygon would cater to their core audience.

No, Anita. You still have no good arguments, no evidence and, last but not least, still no lucrative business partnership with CDPR.

We as people always judge on first sight. That's just nature.
But he is right about 8 years.... That's to long. But isn't it closer to 5 years really?

It is, people forget that first trailer was just to lure some talent to start with.
Game really started around W3 as far as I know.

Firstly, we should assume it is fake. Secondly, it is fake.

Apparently, it's fake.

If it were real, the author would be fired by tomorrow, going by the example they set with the Twitter handler.

Listen, I agree 91 is a great score and this game is great. But with the way people acted on twitter, I would've expected more. I was expecting a type of rockstar experience. Seems like this isn't on that level. Which is fine, but still. The hype was misleading IMO.

In a perfect world the game would've released next gen only sometime next year.
I am in the same boat, its a great score, but after all the hype all those years, its low, and I have to play yet and see if is not a case of additional points thanks to the insane hype like GTA 4.

Don't worry, it's 100% fake

I checked the transmission myself:

But of course, people wont check the veracity of it and it will be ammunition to even more shit to come

It’s genuinely because The Witcher III was set in a mostly white fantasy world with manly men and pretty girls and was massively popular and they will *never* forgive that.
This is nonsense, isn't The Witcher 3 always high praised there? Like top 3 ~ 5 of the gen

Witcher 3 is high praised everywhere.

I have question: Why Whatculture Review is not included in Metacritic yet? its a perfect one (5/5) and will help pump the score up. Anybody knows why?

Right, and it’s *because* WIII with its implicit whiteness and conventional gender roles... kinda... it’s still got masculine and feminine people anyway... is so popular and they fear a repeat with CP2077 that progressives attack it so much.

*If* CP2077 came out and it was filled with whites and hetrosexuals and everyone loved it as much as WIII that would be an absolute disaster for progs, and they *could not permit even the chance of it happening*.

Wew finally caught up to the last page. Holy shit 30 pages in a few hours.

I thank everyone for not spoiling anything in this thread.

Despite everything I’ve read on the way, I’m still hyped for the game. Though I am open to letting it simmer in the pot and play other games while waiting for the patch as opposed to playing it day 1. I just fear that I may come across some spoiler icon or title on social media sites.

every time i see Jeff Gerstmann he sounds like he's gotten old and absolutely hates videogames now but he stills works in gaming journalism because that's all he's ever done. has he actually liked some AAA game in the past few years?
I actually agree with you. But the first 10 minutes, he doesn't even get into his opinion at all.

It's just an objective list from two different people listing game breaking bugs that frequently happened on the PC version (the best version).

Yea, it's completely over hyped, awful combat system, shit performance until maybe a year after release, the only thing that really saved it was the excellent story telling that was provided by the tons of material from the novel series they had to go on.

Gerstmann says at twelve minutes that he didn't like Witcher 3. Isn't he on the record as not liking Dark Souls either? Think this guy just has terrible taste.

hated death stranding too

I don't remember if it won but at least it was a finalist for game of the gen here in GAF. It is praised but it did catch some flak because it didn't have race representation and the sucubi vaguely resembled black women (if you can believe that!). That's right, they were pissed at no race representation in a fantasy world based on a book which took Polish folk myths as a reference.

I remember not caring about cancel culture in general but that particular stance made me rethink it and deciding that it was mostly stupid but a big threat.

How the hell did this game have an April release date if it’s launching with this many bugs in December? Talk about poor time management and quality control. This should have been April 2021 not April 2020.

I don't really care that much about his opinion honestly, and I don't even watch Giant Bomb. I agree that he has bad taste a lot from what I've seen. But to be honest, I also hated The Witcher 3. It felt terrible to play, had cumbersome inventory, harsh economy, underwhelming abilities and leveling, downgraded graphics, and detective vision for every quest.

I'm mostly getting this game hoping for some above average story, and great art design and music. I'm not expecting the gameplay to be good - especially first person stealth.

I *still* think it would cheaper for the games industry to pay for the pensions of everyone who works in games journalism than to put up with their bullshit

maybe it was always supposed to be april 2021 but they misstyped april 2020 in the keanu trailer and had to roll with it

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Ree are literally loosing there minds over this image.

After reading PCgamer article, i'm suprised that it gets so good points in meta, it has insane amount of bugs. I'm propaply going to wait proper nextgen version before playing, or if the day one patch is a killer then PS5 version now if its solid 60fps.

So major issue are basically the bugs which are close to Bethesda levels?

Except CDPR actually tries to fix them all quick as seen with Witcher 3 as opposed to Bethesda.

Weren't there some articles earlier this year about how the management during 2077's dev had been pretty atrocious, and that upper management was divorced from the reality of the state of the game?

Some people put too much stock into reviews. The average of 91, especially nowadays when not many games break that threshold, is an excellent score. Besides, does it really matter that CP2077 isn't couple of points higher on Metacritic? It's still, probably, a great albeit flawed game that is only going to get better with the upcoming patches.

But maybe I'm the weird one as I enjoyed the F out of Alpha Protocol and Fallout New Vegas (84% on MC? What a trash, right?).

yes bugs are basically the only consistent negatives arund the board. but if you are extreme left you might find the game offensive transphobic and racist

They used Denuvo DRM for review copies, is that still considered a performance hog?

Yes. It depends on the used version of the software and how it's implemented, but there's always some performance drop.
