Why? What could the thing possibly do that a regular old PC laptop couldn't except display a fucking logo when you open it up in public? Apple prices are fucking insane. They used to be just plain disgusting now they are vile. But people like you will pay for it and that is how they continue to stay in business. Sub par tech? Apple has basically the best SoCs on the planet. No other laptop has the same performance to battery life. Ever since the M1 came out Intel and AMD have been struggling to catch up.

People love to shit on Apple for its overpriced devices, but as someone who primarily uses refurbished ThinkPads (refurbished by me, no less), I have to admit—Apple's design, build quality, and battery life are second to none. I cycle through all seven of my ThinkPads, which I love dearly and which are very well built. But when I hop on my M1 MacBook Air (running Asahi Fedora, of course) before bed—the only time I usually use it, thanks to its cool temperature—I can't help but admire the feel and quality of what's on my lap. If only it had a ThinkPad keyboard and a TrackPoint, I'd never buy another ThinkPad again.

It is a premium product with a premium price. Much more premium build than something like an Alienware laptop. LOL. (I have purchased Alienware laptops before so joke is on me) My big complaint for Apple is the pricing of their memory upgrades. That part is insane. I do not use a MacBook but I recently purchased one for my granddaughter. The price was very comparable to a PC laptop with equivalent specs but damn, those memory upgrade prices were hard to swallow.

Memory and SSD upgrades. Both are soldered on to the MB so no post-purchase upgrades. The pricing is certainly absurd.
Of course, so is the price of PC gaming these days. I'm wondering how much would a PC laptop that can run CP 2077 at these same settings would cost. And we have to remember, a 5080 mobile is more like a 5070 desktop and they ain't cheap.
It doesn't matter if it's sucky - even if it somehow achieved parity with a 5090, this game tops out at 30fps maxed out at 4k on that GPU.
Any scenarios of hitting 120fps @3k will involve lowered settings, frame-gen and/or worse.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the more scalable games out there. Probably because they have done a pretty good job keeping it up to date with newer tech.
