Neat.
I'm hoping for da Vinci to build a suit of armour with wings and go Full Batman.

It might be a byproduct of watching so much antihero television these days, but it feels a little flimsy and instead of firming up the characters to add depth they threw in some sex & violence instead. Might just take some getting used to on my part - there's nothing inherently wrong with a more lightweight show with some adult content tossed in.Think so? Honestly, the only bit that felt out of place to me was the scene where the old dude gets out of the pool/bath naked and then has the kid's throat slashed. That was a little WTF, like something out of The Borgias. I thought the other scenes felt perfectly in line with the rest of the stuff, though, tonally speaking.
Hey, all, nerd-gasm here. One of the best parts of this job is that you occasionally get to call up people you admire out of the blue and ask them if they want to play in your sandbox. Sometimes, they say yes. So
I managed to convince Starz and the powers that be to hire Matt and Jonathan on to write two episodes of Season 2 with our trusty staff.
In case you dont know who Hickman and Fraction are they are comic gods in the indie and Marvel world.
Jonathan kicked holy crap out of Fantastic Four for a number of years and is currently writing The Avengers. Hes also done some incredible indie books through Image like Pax Romana and The Manhattan Project.
Fraction inherited the two FF books from Hickman and also writes the Eisner-nominated book Hawkeye, which pretty much redefined the super-hero genre. He also created the quirky indie book Casanova.
I also tried to get Thomas Pynchon, but he said no.
the incredibly kind, amongst other things, David S. Goyer on me + jhixs new gig
(also if you liked ep 1 last week? ep 2 this week is going to sheer the top of your fucking head off)
Holy shit, guys. I didn't know Johnathan Hickman and Matt Fraction were also writing episodes for this show.
The Serpent
Leonardo continues his quest for the Book of Leaves. The Popes nephew arrives and meets his spy. Leonardos war designs fail, causing a rift with the Medicis. The Pope learns of Leonardos prowess.
YO DAVINCIGUY. BRO
So the consensus is this is worth the time? After 4 years I sadly lost Spartacus, but Starz has my attention with their ability to make good show so I was eyeing this one, I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
Let's not :/
I'm actually sold by episode 2. It's an adventure tv show, and the final scene reminded me of Indiana Jones. I like his Sherlock Holmes assessing the situation with sketch graphics, but I hope he goes further with slow-mo (lol) during fights.
The Prisoner
Riario discusses his defeat with the Pope and a mysterious prisoner. An outbreak of demonic possession at a convent is blamed on the Medicis, but Leonardo searches for a rational explanation.
That was actually pretty fun.
I just wish I hadn't been eating lunch when the nun stabbed herself in the eye.
It was the eye that did it for you? Not the bloody, muddy, shitty, filth she was drenched in? I was repulsed long before she stabbed her eye out.
I wonder who that prisoner is.
might be Altier or Enzo
Way more gorgeous than his mistress.damn.
I don't think I could possibly disagree more.
This show sucks.
This show sucks.

The Magician
'The Magician' Bechhi is arrested and accused of being a spy for Rome. The armies of Rome and Florence face off, and Leonardo reveals his latest weapon.
Me too. They're doing a good job of fleshing out the characters more and more as this moves along. The show is slowly growing on me.
It's pretty lightweight but entertaining enough to follow.Oh I forgot about this. Don't really need more shows to watch but I'll check it out soon.
