some of the screens in this thread make me want to watch it, others really do the opposite (especially spikey-hair leonardo).

IF i'd give it a try, what episode would you suggest? start at the beginning or is there another episode you'd use to sell this show?

I've only watched the first few episodes (started over the long weekend)... this feels like a Rob Tapert adventure show (i.e. Hercules, Xena, Legend of the Seeker) with nudity. That's not a bad thing.

The season's only like eight episodes long, but it's pretty serialized. Start at the beginning. It's fun.

As NotTheGuyYouKill said, the show is pretty serialized. If you just watch any random episode, you're probably not going to understand what's going on, so you might as well start with the beginning.

Good episode tonight. Kinda crazy everything that happened. :O

I won't watch the promo for the finale, but I'm very curious what they have in store.

I was ready to give Lucrezia a break she was being used and secretly doing it all for someone she loves.

But nope she can burn, Giulino became one of the cooler characters on the show.

Does any one else get the feeling that Lucrezia's father is really Da Vinci time travelled back in the past? I assume adopted daughter, but even that is a little weird.

Oh and Hera Hilmar is amazingly beautiful, man what I would give to take Giuliano's place for that one night.

Bravo to them for making a female lead like this but holy fuck I cannot wait for her to die. They just axed a great cast member/character.

Was anyone else surprised when the magic spear actually turned out to be magic? For some reason, I'm always surprised when fantastical things occur on this show.

It was cool when it sliced through the axe. I'm glad they're keeping those things on the fringes of the story. Just enough to make it interesting.

Yeah, it's like, I wouldn't want to see Da Vinci riding on the back of a flying unicorn every episode (or would I...?), but seeing one gallop around in a meadow every now and then is aces.

Didn't knew there was a Da vinci's Demons' thread in gaf.

Just watched the last episode, they added a bit of sci-fi in this: longinus spear, dragon skull (a dinosaur?) ark of the covenant... I hope they don't go crazy with this things, but it was cool to see them.

A shame to see Giuliano die, he was becoming really interesting :(

Lucretia looked like Elizabeth this episode. was that the finale? felt like it with all the shit that went down

Giuliano was one of my favorite characters, too bad to see him go so quickly. At least there is still Riario and his swag lol, I seriously can't believe how he is dressed sometimes. It's like Nomura designed his clothes or something.

The show is dumb fun, it's so over the top but at the same time it doesn't take itself too seriously, I have to say I'm really enjoing it more than I expected.

Is anyone else irritated how STRAIGHT-WASHED Leo is? I mean damn I've never ever heard of him being with woman. He was definetly with men for the most part no?

It just turns me off to watch this sometimes. I guess the gay kiss was a relief, but like they were saying how they SECRETLY filmed the kissing scene and didnt tell anyone. A kissing scene of all things for a Starz show which houses LGBTQ friendly Spartacus o_O

Also after the
Sodomy actually turning out to be true
was depressing cause they didnt show it. It was like behind the scenes

Just offering an opinion... I love the show tho. Reminds me of Xena/Spartacus

According to Wikipedia:

Little is known about Leonardo's sexuality, as, although he left hundreds of pages of writing, very little of it is personal in nature. Most people seem to agree that he was gay though, due to the sodomy trials and the fact that he apparently drew some erotic pictures/paintings.

It is a bit disappointing, I must admit, though I understand why they did it. Even though Spartacus had a lot of good LGB characters, the rest of Starz' shows have been pretty barren in that regard, and I don't think having a full on gay lead was going to fly on a channel that is still primarily targeting straight males (even though Starz has a lot more male nudity than pretty much any other channel), so they decided to make him bi.

I guess television just isn't ready to have its first gay action/adventure star.

Yeah and the lead actor was actually upset at people complaining about them making Leo into some womanizer. Hopefully next season he will have more relationships with men :)

Loving the show so far. How is it doing rating wise? I hope it gets picked up for another season (if it hasn't already). I love Riley as Da Vinci's such a great choice.

Be careful on the net guys, seems like Itunes Australia? let ep 8 out early or something so if you don't want to get spoiled, you know. That said, the show isn't really populat at all so chances of you being spoiled are slim haha.

On a different note, Goyer has apparently hired one of my favorite modern comic writers to pen an ep in season 2. Matt Fraction. The article old, but w/e:
