Based on what we've heard of Get Lucky, I can imagine that opening track being unreal.

I don't understand the people who are taken aback by their new disco sound. They've always been about it.

Also

Discovery = disco + very = very disco = Veridis Quo

DAT INTERVIEW

Seriously, love the use of live instrumentation. Thomas's comments on EDM pretty much nailed it, genre needs a shakeup imo. Also jamming with Kanye West on two tracks for the next album, fuck yes. We're probably close to a Kanye single then if they're already shooting a video for it.

New Daft Punk and Kanye West in the same year. :)

So good! can't wait for monday.

the interview in the rolling stone is pretty fun to read.
especially the production for 1 or 2 songs of kanye's next album. the videoclip will be directed by chris cuningham.

Daft Punk is evil for finding a reason for me to wish the weekend was shorter. Damn you, assholes!

It's the return of disco...or the return of the 70's

After watching the BBC doc on Nile Rodgers, I would say a modern version of disco is due for a comeback. The genre gets such a bad rap sometimes if you think of stuff like Saturday Night Fever, but it produced some pretty awesome music that for the most part still holds up kind of well today. Ironically the people who demanded the "death of disco" are the ones who seem the most dated when compared to the genre itself.

Taking inspiration from that decade and combining with some modern techniques and sounds could become something really special and exciting.

disco coming back is the only logical next step.

Electronic music is soo overproduced and sampled these days with ridiculous vocal distortion, that simple beats and good ol' fashioned singing feels fresh.

daft punk bringing back dat disco.

when you guys say disco is due a comeback, you know about nu disco right? If not, you're in for a real treat.

I think Miizy F Baby put up a good example with Rock with You

that's probably a good estimation and way to sum up what to expect from the album, going from this sample and the whole aesthetic. At least in terms of mood or overall vibe

certainly a more modern and daft punky version of that, but man, I hope..

I'm really excited for this, been into Daft Punk since their early days and the Tron Legacy OST still gets frequent plays

I'm also a bit of a disco era fan so the idea this album is going to have funk grooves all over it has me giddy (and Giorgio Moroder! and Niles Rodger's of Chic fame aw yes)

Yeah, heard of it and it's pretty great as well, but I feel that this has the potential to make it a little bit more mainstream. Seriously, I'd rather have this type of music infect clubs instead of the same old tired bullshit aka Pitbull, will i am, florida.

man the day daft punk makes a song with will i am is the day I quit music

it's crazy cause you have a lot of hacks making music and a lot of talented people making music with those hacks, and then you have daft punk and a lot of the people who collaborate with said hacks also collaborating with them

they should have sued will.i.am.a.dog for that sample
