Yeah, heard of it and it's pretty great as well, but I feel that this has the potential to make it a little bit more mainstream. Seriously, I'd rather have this type of music infect clubs instead of the same old tired bullshit aka Pitbull, will i am, florida.

Sorry man, but who cares about those kind of clubs and those kinds of artists? Not our problem to fix, and no point feeling sorry about it. If you like disco there is a whole modern genre to explore full of musicians that are very much bringing the sound back. There are clubs that get those DJs and producers to perform there, go check them out. Expecting a change in pop culture is like trying to hold back the tide, just explore what you like best, because it exists. And when pop changes to something you enjoy you'll be pleasantly surprised.

pretty much

Guys, I think this is going to be their best album.

I think making such a direct comparison to Thriller (font) is pretty bold. Does look like they're going all out, and more in a live band music way than before.

no matter what it wont be universally accepted as the best sicne it looks like it'll be pretty different and some people dont like change

man the day daft punk makes a song with will i am is the day I quit music

Oof I don't know Sala - the legendary Earth, Wind and Fire got a pretty decent track out of Will.I.Am for their 2005 album. Though I dunno how much of that was Will over Phillip Bailey.

I think he can be an okay musician, but has gotten into bad habits thanks to hobnobbing and working with a lot of lesser artists (Where did he dig Britney up from?)

Any guitar players work this out? The part from the first SNL ad. It's more complex than I had anticipated. Seems like maybe 2 guitars and some keys

mostly sounds like jamming on D-Bm - Fm# - E to me

trying to get it just right without knowing how they recorded is tough

True. I think it just bothers me when other people talk about electronic and mention said hack artists.

For the main part I think its.
E ---2----5-----9---12p9-----7--------
B----3----7----10-------------9--------
G----4----7----11-------------9---7--6
D----4----7----11-------------9--------
A-----------------------------
E----------------------------
There is little fills and runs Nile puts in here and there but I think this is it.
Quickly covered here if you want to hear the rhythm. https://soundcloud.com/rizy-2/get-lucky-daft-punk-guitar

I've tried it, it sounds about right but the rhythm is tricky.

when you guys say disco is due a comeback, you know about nu disco right? If not, you're in for a real treat.

Thank you for saying this. For me, the worst thing about these Daft Punk threads has been these claims that they're bringing something back that's already been revived years ago and in many very exciting forms.

"Get Lucky" is fairly catchy, I'll give it that much.

Well, I don't care what those other people think.

Artists reinventing themselves is one of the best things ever.

Judging by comments I've seen around the net, the Daft Punk cycle is in full swing.

Discovery releases: "What? This doesn't sound like their last album at all."
Human After All leaks: "This can't be them, it doesn't sound like them all."
RAM: "This doesn't really sound like Daft Punk."

They don't have a set style of music and I love them for it, you never know what to expect.

I still appreciate them bringing something like that to a wider audience though. I mean it's obviously there already for anyone who wants to listen to that but it's not as if many artists have the amount of fans they have. Lots of people who like previous Daft Punk work could be unknowingly getting ready to discover a whole new thing.

It's cool, and I think they realize this by not making any claims of bringing anything back themselves

Oh, and for all of you who haven't discovered Nu Disco yet i made a post about a year ago covering a lot of artists. It's obviously not updated with anything new since then but it should keep you occupied.

Which makes them great, imo. You can still hear it's their sound, but the albums always brings something entirely new and refreshing.
Often when artists change their sound it's a gamble and it's almost always terrible. Daft Punk seems to have great concistency. Even their "worst" album is amazing compared to most other artists.

I have to applaud them for the pre release cycle for this album, slowly and gradually building up the hype for this album is really exciting.

It is pretty fun seeing them not give a fuck about the usual procedure of hyping up an album and being able to just put a few hints here and there and trust the internet to go batshit about it, eventually ending up in an even more succesful "hype" campaign

what's funny is that I feel like many artists are in a situation where they could do the same, yet no one does

I sure hope that Casablancas song is good. I see no reason why it wouldn't be, but eh.

edit: when the fuck did The Strokes release another album? Jesus, that was quiet.

In my opinion Julian has been very hit and miss lately. He gets into some high pitched stuff on the new strokes album but there is no telling with him he seems to be all over the place lately.

I think his song is the one I am most curious about. This single is incredibly catchy I just want to loop it all day.

As for new Strokes its not bad I like it better than there last personally.

thing is that the last two Strokes albums are much more of a collaboration than the previous ones. They're all about every member of the band getting their moment. Almost each song is written by a different member and there's even others singing and stuff. That's why they're quite different and sorta hit and miss for most.

Julian's solo album was pretty great in my book.

Last month.

It's...okay. I don't know, I've disliked the last three Strokes albums. Even though they were one of my favourite bands for a while because I love their first two records.

Julian is always interesting so I'm glad he's on here, but The Strokes as a band are sort of boring these days =[

OMD released a new album last week...

...anyone?

andy is not amused

can't get that get lucky clip out my head, it's soooo infectious. amazing and i wasn't even particularly excited for the album before.

Kept on listening, and this is sounding like the most Pop thing they've done. '

Still really like it.

Maybe it's blasphemy to say, but this is what I'm hoping for from the whole album. I love Daft Punk when they stick to simpler song structures and things feel like "songs", when things go off the rails is when I lose interest, and this teaser is awesome so far, exactly what I want. :)

Cool thanks. I had a Bm and D in there but I'm going to give these a shot too. I thought I heard an A but it's tough to distinguish it all. Especially from a Youtube video rather than the actual high quality recording.
