Dance Central |OT| Kinect's Killer App?

I think they should have setup the song order differently. They should have had the first few songs be ones that shared a lot of moves, so you wouldn't be relearning everything from scratch with every single song. So far none of the songs I've played have repeated moves at all, every move has been unique to that song.

I caught myself practising the rodeo move at work today. I quickly looked around to see if anyone was watching :lol

886.000 points on Poker Face! Now i'm at 224th in the world.

Nobody seems to have reach 900.000 or above. Maybe without help (moves figures) the game assign you much more points...

With no doubt Dance Central is the KA of Kinetict.

how bad is this in terms of pissing off the neighbours from stomping on the floor? :lol

i'm guessing theres a lot of jumping involved and its probably hard to do quietly?

also did anyone here also try dance masters and precisely how busted is it in comparison?

£180 or whatever is a lot of money just for this :( but i want

i'm guessing you cant put your own songs in?

There's not that much jumping (from the 10 songs I've tried so far) and what there is of it isn't very high. Of course you'll be lighter on your feet too with a bit of training :D If you have a rug you'll be fine, although I'd suggest wearing shoes that don't have too much grip so you can adjust your footing when doing some moves.

No, you can't put your own songs on it.

A lot like rockband/guitar hero, you'll gel with some songs more than others. I've gotten to 109 on the leader board for one song (C'mon 'n Ride It) at 96% on hard after only dancing it 10 times but have trouble on other songs in the same group on medium. There's no career mode so you can skip the songs you don't like. In my experience you'll want 7 feet from the sensor and 6 feet side to side to get the most out of it.

Honestly I think Dance Central is the best game that kinect has to offer. Dance Central is the rockband for dancing, buy the game and get one plastic camera.

I'm dead after four medium dances (to be fair I tried to at least 4 star all of them... ended up repeating the fourth song three times, only managed three and 4/5ths of a star... jeeze)

Yeah, there are steps but very few jumps; it's definitely better on the neighbors than "Dance Dance Revolution". I live in a 3rd floor apartment and play the game in the evening with no problems. If the neighbors can't hear the music, the steps shouldn't be a problem.

Is the Flying Blind achievement not working for anyone either?

I got it on medium, but didn't get it on easy. I also happened to gold star it on medium when I did it, but I am not sure that mattered. Are you doing it on medium or hard?

I did a mixture of all difficulties (tried it with some friends). I guess I gotta redo the Easy ones on Medium or higher. Thanks!

Just picked this up with a Kinect, and dusted off my personal 360. I'm a big fan of Eyetoy Groove, so have been keen to give this a go because I haven't had another dance game that has come close to that experience.

Played through a couple of songs, though it crashed on the third one I tried. Took a couple of tries to 5 star Evacuate the Dance Floor and nailed I Know You Want Me first time, even though I had a bunch of trouble with the Blazer Walk in the Break Down.

I am a decent enough real life dancer, but I must say a couple of the moves feel a little awkward or at least I have to perform them awkwardly to get them to register properly. Hopefully as I learn the boundaries of the recognition, optimise my setup, and get used to the moves I'll relax a little more and it will flow a little more easily.

Even still, really enjoying this first taste and think I'll have a lot of fun with this game.

Really liking this game. Satisfaction is my personal favorite and I've almost 5 stared it on hard. The Reboot sequence gives me a lot of trouble. I think my score is around 575k there.

Also just played multiple tries of Teach me how to jerk and my legs were killing me. :lol

The upcoming DLC is great, I already got the 3 released ones which are okay.

Definitely doesn't make things up as he goes along.
So just picked this up, had about 12 people over last night...

Damn, this game is hard! It's a ton of fun in a party setting, but it takes a lot of mental adjustment. I'm a fairly good dancer and I sucked at it. It's hard to wrap your head around facing someone and yet moving in the same direction. My brain keeps telling me to move the opposite of the on-screen character. The girls were having an easier time of it than the guys I suppose.

What's the trick? Watch the character, or watch the move list on the right? It's like, I'm watching the move list, then watching the character, than tell my brain I need to mirror them instead of dancing with them :lol

I normally do both, but mainly look at the dancer. If I know the move that's coming up I'll look at the dancer and follow through, but if I forget what's coming up next I'll quickly glance at the cue card, hopefully remember what move it is, then stare back at the dancer.

Turk's always my go-to. I want a playable Turk DLC, stat.
Hell, the song's already in the game....

I hadn't checked the Global Leaderboards since I got the game, so I decided to see how I ranked comparatively to everyone. My best rank was Teach Me How to Jerk where I stand at #7 and still haven't even gold starred it yet. Going to try and 5 star all the songs on Hard today.

Finally got a Kinect and Dance Central. I was hyped for the game and I am so glad DC didnt disappoint. The best Kinect game out there and a serious contender as my GOTY :D

Three more great songs that make me want to move! DC is turning out to be a better Kinect exercise game than the Kinect exercise games.

Just picked up an Ekubo + Kinect today. First non-handheld console ever. Would anyone happen to have a spare Janet Jackson "Control" promo code? :p

No TV yet though. Black Friday can't come soon enough. :(

Game is so addicting. Five-starred Poker Face on easy and medium today, felt cocky and tried out the Quad City DJ's song and got my ass handed to me. Will be playing this for a long time. :D

I tried the break it down for "Can't get you out of my mind" the other day on medium and thought I wouldn't like it so I skipped it. I went back to it today and now it's one of my favs on hard.

The moderate songs are a freaking step up in difficulty. Can't wait to get absolutely murdered on the next two tiers...

I would love a Janet Jackson "Control" code if anyone has them? It'd be awesome!

Also, I hope the DLC is quite regular. Will Harmonix's recent selling affect the output?

does anyone know if this game is region-free? play-asia says the US version is, but i'd like to pick up a PAL version when i visit my family for christmas if it'll work on my NTSC-J 360.

I read an announcement somewhere that DLC for Rockband and DC wouldn't be affected, but who knows?

Is anyone reviewing the DLC for this game? I'm trying to decide which songs are worth it. I tried to look up some gameplay videos for the DLC on youtube but didn't really find anything.

There's a trailer of the three songs they released at launch on YouTube. I'd give you a link but I'm on my iPhone right now.

Also I have Because of You and I definitely recommend that one if you're into that kind of contemporary hiphop dance.
